Will I ever get tired of reliving my childhood...? NOPE!
Which of these deck did you guys have?
My first deck was Lord of the Storm, the Simorgh Deck, my current decks are Shaddoll, BA , D/D/D , Dinosaurs Smasher and Blue Eyes - Felgrand. I'm currently trying to learn how to play the budget Shaddoll deck after a four year hiatus from Yugioh. :)
Spellcaster Judgment was my first Strukture Deck i buyed
Spellcasters was my favorite.
Also, should I add Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the end into my Shadoll Deck? Any suggestions ? :)
I had the cyber dragon stuture deck as my first it came with the cyber dragons some more machines and cyber twin dragon along with cyber dragon nova
I know these old school duels are "slow", but they're way more entertaining imo :) good video!
I enjoy the slower duels. More cards, they gotta be more on their feet about strategy’s
Theres more suspense
Just started watching them and I'm a happy camper ! I remember when yugioh first came out. Anyone could join, learn and enjoy. Now it's complicated in my opinion. Love old school yugioh
@@jcl5044 the new summoning mechanics are not that difficult..
I completely agree, this old style of dueling will always hold a special place in my heart. When my friends and I play we try to play decks that stick as close to this style as possible
Fun fact Alec, Obnoxious Celtic Guard is where we get the term ‘retrain’ from. It was mistranslated to Retrained Celtic Guard at one point and so the buffed monsters what followed were considered Retrained
I think Obnoxious suits it more than Retrained lol Thanks for the fact though!
@@daviddent5662 agreed i never knew that but well I think the german translations wouldn't work like that 😅
So if he were never mistranslated, we would call them "obnoxious" cards?
I did not know that! Dope
@@aurafox1 😂😂😂that would be great
Wow that Reload into Release Restraint was a real clutch anime protagonist moment
For real
@Green Hornet either that or he set the deck
Could've been avoided. Paul is an average duelist. Anyone who knows that structure deck would've attacked gearfried because they would know about release restraint
@@imtheonehero9305 god you’re such an expert! Legends speak of you as the ultavirgin! I cannot believe I am in your presence. Bow down to the Ultavirgin!
@@imtheonehero9305 Who are you Seto Kaiba? You're probably a third rate duelist with a fourth rate deck.
i love seeing all these structure decks ive had growing up takes me back to playing with my brother, dad and all my dads yugioh friends
That sounds like fun
You had an awesome dad
Dang how old was your dad when he started playing?
Yeah, how old is your Dad?
Your dad made good decisions
This is just so much more interesting to me than modern yugioh. I actually like the set pass turn lmao
But it's can be vary fun to play a bigger board and combo off as apposed to summon pass summon pass.
More fun to watch less fun to play than something like goat format which is more fun to play as it isn’t just whoever gets luckier
@@Aceshot-uu7yx No, the 10 minute combos are not fun what are you talking about.
@@L._Vireo have you ever combed off
@@Aceshot-uu7yx Yes, I play Geargia, I just don't take forever and practically softlock my opponent.
*Alec and I are traveling back in time to 2006 for a structure deck duel today guys! Which of these two Structure Decks do you like more?*
Next up: Lord of the Storm and Invincible Fortress! 😀
Warior, becouse i love sky strikers, and sky strikers are wariors🤣
Spellcasters Judgment
I remember having those decks as a kid. Good times.
These vids are great! Plz just slow down the card art, its too blurry without pausing.
How did ya use Magic Cylinder from your hand in the first duel? I thought it's a normal not a hand.
I know burn decks aren’t generally looked on favorably, but dang Dark Eradicator Warlock is so cool I need to make a deck around him.
All I can say is don't
He does inflict damage to you if your opponent use spell cards against you.
I did make a deck around him using Restructure Revolution and Spark in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links
There's acontinuous trap with the same eff
@@alexiecierra nope it's always against your opponent if any player activates a normal spell
It's a cool card and all but .. he's kinda hard to get on the field , but he can fit in a dedicated Dark Magician deck since you can always recycle and special summon DM in such a deck
Am i the only one who find these kind of battle with these kind of decks, are always more interesting to watch than how they play the duel nowadays 😂😂😂😂
Around this time I believe they tried bumping their peer group up a few years but I don't think it worked out well
Not at all anyone who grew up watching og yugioh knows the old way of playing is way more fun and enjoyable
I am getting the nostalgia feels seeing these Structure decks
I love that Paul is using the mat from the deck
Love that Ygo era when we use to attack monsters and set trap cards instead of multiple boards negations and disruptions :C
Ahhh great times with Warriors Triumph. The birth of me playing Equip Warriors and the only time I really dominated my friends, classmates, and Sunday School friends.
I played young and was always terrible at building decks. I could finally enjoy playing yugioh once I picked up the warrior structure. It was so strong
I still have two decks heacily based on Warriors Triumph and Invincible Fortress and they're both very fun to play, my Warrior Deck wins most of the time tho.
Sealed warriors is still a fun low level atk troll deck and the warriors structer started its core lol
I love these videos. A while back I wanted to get back into Yugioh but I didn’t want to go back to the meta grind and stuff so I just started collected pre-con decks and it’s been some of the most fun I’ve had.
Big fan of Spellcaster's Jeludgement. Lots of good stuff in general, and including a certain synchro summon made for some explosive burn damage plays thanks to all the spell counter sources.
Tempest Magician right ?
I love how slow the game used to be back then. It’s so fast nowadays that it literally has made me stop playing. Considering getting into GOAT format in the last few months lol. This is making me want to even more
Yeah old school yugioh was much better
@@marcusp961 old school yugioh was much worse then modern modern isn't perfect but at least playing it doesn't feel like watching paint dry in slow motion
@@eleanordawes8634 disagreed :)
@@Johndavidson4 what makes you like old school yugioh like goats I can't understand why
@@eleanordawes8634 Strategy that doesn’t involve an OTK.
Thumbs up for the camera focus/quality this time around alone!
This is so dope. Its like being back with the boys.
Oh i REEAAALY love Spellcasters Judgment!
i like zombie and water monster decks i specially enjoy playing zombies
@@バブル-w4b zombie world is such a fun deck
@@Steg_The_Man OMG did we just became best friends?!
I COMPLETELY forgot some of these existed and I hate myself for it lol
I love seeing these old structure deck duels. So nostalgic. I owned the magician deck when it was released, but I remember being disappointed by it and I didnt understand the spell counter mechanic at the time. I never owned the warrior deck although my friend did.
As someone who wasn't ever able to get into yugioh I appreciate the editing on these to show us close up what each card is as its played.
I loved that spellcaster deck back in the day. Magical Dimension was so strong! Or at least felt really OP for its time
Its really cool to duel with old structure deck especially around 2006
What about a challenge where Paul makes two decks, and the guys have to duel without having ever seen the decks they’re using, basically making both of them play blind
That is a fantastic idea!
Would be nice, but might turn people away because much of the duels would be spent on them learning trying to understand their deck as they go.
This reminds me of me and my friends having those decks as kids and dueling like this ALL THE TIME. thank you for bringing back memories
This video was a huge flashback to me, since the first deck I ever owned myself was the Spellcaster's Judgement. Really love your content keep up the great work and thanks for the walk down memory lane!
I haven't played YuGiOh in at least ten years, probably fifteen. I've been watching TeamAPS religiously since I randomly found their channel. Love the content, guys.
Love picking the Spellcaster deck for World Championship 2006 on the GBA. It has lots of the powerful cards in the format so it's a great starting point on the game.
I miss sitting with friends and playing old school yugioh
I feel you. Some of the best memories are of me and my best pals just trading and duelling all day long. Goood times!
get help then
I’ll never get tired watching these old-school duels 😄
Why am I feeling nostalgic for a game I got into 4 years ago?
My hearts is full of victory!
Both of these decks were major highlights of my childhood. I got the warrior structure deck after I hurt my ankle as a kid. So I went inside Walmart with my parents to get this (they didn’t know what I wanted exactly) and they helped me back out to the car. So I sat in the car with my new deck while they shopped. Good times. Played a warrior themed deck for a while after that. As for the magician deck that was so awesome because I ended up getting another copy of that and I played a deck I wanted to play which was magicians/spellcasters. Freaking awesome video guys. Keep up the amazing work. It’s so cool to see these old decks I grew up with when times were so much simpler. I really appreciate the nostalgia.
THEEERE we go! I wondered where warrior's triumph went when you guys were doing old structure deck duels! That's my favorite and first ever structure deck
DAAAMN GUYS, you are the best. You bring back so many good memories of my childhood as a Yu-Gi-Oh player and it is really entertaining to watch you play. I no longer play in the TCG, just Duel Links, but I enjoy the hell out of this channel. It's not your usual Yu-Gi-Oh channel, your contents are truly awesome.
I’ve been waiting for another structure deck duel! Keep up the good work!
Love that these duels have paraphrasing of effects and you guys say the names and slide the cards across the screen so we know exactly what's going on! Excellent video!
Lol i remember picking these up at walmart! Before I even knew Glass existed. Good times
Spin the glasss
Damn I love this type of videos. The Warrior, Spellcaster, the fire one and the Dragons Deck are by far my favourive structure Decks. Those were just simpler times, not we have to buy 3 copy and only use the meta cars. Everyone of my friends just bought one of those decks and we played for months. I really miss those type of duells.
Man thoses starters decks feels more fun than the arctype duels because of the basic back and forth
This is such a nostalgia trip for me. When I was a kid, I had the Warrior's Triumph Deck, and always loved Gearfried. As I got older, I never knew what the deck was called. Thanks for this.
Hilarious how they're trying to avoid lining up cards in columns when columns didn't matter before Links.
At one point in this video I believe that since Alec declared an attack with goblin attack force it should have gone to defense mode unless since a new monster was summoned midattack a replay happened in where he didn't attack meant that since he didn't attack it doesn't trigger G.A.F. effect to go to defense!
Yup, the replay gives him a chance to not attack which keeps the attack force in attack mode.
I would love to see the joey vs pegasus structure decks, although they are probably too hard to get a hold of. Maybe recreate them with singles since it would be massively cheaper?
The back and forth of the duels so fun! I’m a fan of the spellcaster one.
Back at those days with Triumph!
So happy i kept all of my old cards icluding WT and SJ decks (immediately clicked when i saw the thumbnail), we still rock some oldschool duels with my friends from time to time.
I love those days, I had Spellcaster's Command, Zombie World and Dark Emperor.
Just noticed a little mistake in the video, 17:21 Goblin Attack Force's effects forces it to Defense position at the end of the battle phase, but it seems you guys forgot it and Alec took some damage hahah
No, it was correct. Since the target has changed, attack replay happens and you can choose not to attack, which was the correct play on Alec's side
Wow what a throwback. Loving these oldschool structure deck duels!
One small thing I can comment on was the card moving across the screen fairly quickly, I was on .75x speed and it was still tough to pause and read it. I love how you guys show the card but having it stationary for a bit longer would be more helpful imo, but it also helps that you read out the effects so it's not a big deal in the end haha. Keep up the great content!
I love how evenly matched these decks are
I havent played yugioh in years but i had to show love. This duel is NOSTALGIC as hell. Amazing production btw. The card being shown when you summoned it is amazing.
I love that each boss monster brought out was immediately BTFOd
This is why current boss monsters either have immediate value or have some way to protect themselves.
In my opinion this is the best Yu-gi-oh! RUclips channel, so I really hope these structure deck duels work out for you guys. The Spellcaster Structure was actually the first Official Yu-gi-oh! Product I ever bought... This is EXTREMELY nostalgic for me
when he said "our money is *laughs* well spend“ at the begining he knew this money wasn't worth it
I love these duels. Keep it up guys! My mom always likes when I put you guys on the TV. She likes how you conduct yourselves and how you handle/sleeve the cards you play with.Dont slow down get better!
I legit thought the Spell Counters were either smudges on my screen or M&M's lmao
I remember seeing these decks on shelves. This duel match was very entertaining. I love the effort with making the spell counters look positioned correctly and under the sweep over card displays. I was rooting for the Gearfried deck and was glad Alec could pull off the win!
Last time I was this early, people still T set and passed
That warrior deck was the second ever deck I got to buy, and the marauding captain lock strategy plus a ton of equipments was what I use to win a middle school tournament back in the day, pure nostalgia.
XD This one was the best so far! So much interactive play and from two clans who have always dominated the game using recovery and overwhelm: spellcasters and warriors. Brilliant! I also love how half of Alec's dialogue is "Boooo" every time Paul played just about anything technical lol Great vid guys!
2:28 mentions command knight lock when you got marauding captain first which is literally just a better version of command knight lock cause you can summon more than 2 monsters on the field. 2 marauding captains also prevents the enemy from attacking anything, but compared to command knight you can fill your board with other monsters and they also wont be attacked.
I am really impressed by how you manage to grow your channel and become more and more professional while still maintaining that cozy "kitchen table TCG afternoon with friends" feeling.
These vids always take me back to me and my friends playing Yu-gi-oh with random cards and making up rules as we went. The games were slow, but loads of fun
Bravissimi complimenti.
I don’t like these types of duels
I love it lmao . Also wanted to mention you guys got me outta my house and back to some locals and I’ve been having a blast . Thanks so much
Warriors triumph was my first real deck I tried to use. This takes me way back. Love your content, so many great videos bringing back good memories for me
I didn't expect the decks to be like that from the start, specially Spellcaster's Judgment, seems like a ready-to-go deck with those 2 of and those big cards like Chaos Sorcerer, you really got a deck to play with back then it seems.
Even though I played a lot as a kid I never really picked up any of the structure decks back then. I had gotten the original starter decks for Kaiba, Yugi Joey and Peagasus and after that my childhood collection had built off of packs. Definitely fun to see these two decks duel it out and have pretty fun games.
My younger brother had gotten the ancient gear structure deck when it released (Machine Revolt)and I also remember he somehow got the Warrior's Triumph and Dinosaur's Rage one too. Not sure how he got them and we didn't perhaps we were too busy asking for the tins.
Definitely a great way to get into the game is to just get a structure deck and duel someone else's structure deck. Definitely something I like to do before tearing it apart to build a more optimal constructed version.
Can't wait for the next one!
I liked the layout/format of this video so much. Great work! Brought back memories.
That Warrior Deck was the first Yugioh deck I ever bought! So GOOD to see it again!
This brings back amazing childhood memories, thank you guys SO much for this video
Some cards would really work nicely for me in those past duels from 2004.
Loved your little Spell Counter overlay. Thought it was cute when you slid it over along with Blast Magician.
I thought he was XYZ summoning 😂
I absolutely love these duels. Thanks so much for making one again
Fondly remember getting spellcasters judgement in 2006 from Walmart at 5 years old to play with my older brother. Keep up these throwback structure deck vids
Now THIS brings back memories. My elder brother bought both of these starter decks and gave me the option to choose one for my birthday. Naturally, I went with Spellcaster's Judgement because who doesn't love Warlocks and promptly got my ass kicked with Warrior's Triumph!
Great memories from a simpler time.
Man you unlocked a deep memory within me I e been watching your videos and seeing the spellcaster deck was super fun playing as a kid love the content !!
I'd love to see ya'll play with the updated spellcaster structure deck, Spellcaster's Judgement. It was so much better and there were a lot of great cards in that one.
These two were my favorite structure decks back in the day. I loved Dark Paladin, so Warriors and Spellcasters were right up my alley, I just had to have them both!
These videos are great! They take me back. I owned both of these structure decks and would essentially have the same duel with myself.
I've been waiting for Warriors Triumph, that was my most memorable structure growing up. Thank you guys!
oh man this brings me back to simpler times.
Back when I thought it was cool to have gate guardian in my deck.
This duel reminded me of the time Gearfried the Iron Knight got to top 8 at an SJC in 2005 or 2006. It was in a format where the meta was early Dark World and Monarchs. The deck ran multiple Gearfrieds with Smoke Grenade of Thief and Blast with Chain. Combined with Kotetsu and MoF to search and recycle, it was actually a pretty consistent strategy. Funny that Smoke Grenade was only just banned because of Infernoble Knights when it's been a completely broken card for 15 years.
I started watching your videos recently, I really like your content.
Especially those videos where they buy cards and give advice on what to buy and what not to buy.
And the funny thing is, the last time I bought cards, these structures were new.
Excuse me if my English is weird, I'm still learning the language.
D.D. Warrior Lady was my favorite in my Banish deck around this time. Glad to see Alex win by using her effect on a Boss Monster. Way to go!
These are my two favorite old structure decks!! Used to use them back in the day on the DS games
I remember as a kid buying Spellcasters judgment, Starter deck Yugi and Starter deck Yugi Evolution and combining the best cards from all 3 decks into 1 deck battling against my friends. It was so good.
I really enjoy watching you guys duel each other with these different structure decks!
Just found this channel and i am in heaven! Shout out from South Africa! May the heart of the cards forever live on!
Surprising win for the warriors! The magician deck was certainly stronger in terms of what cards it got and synergy but hey, it’s all in the luck of the draw.
Nah. It's cause Paul can't duel. He could've and should've won the second game if he only attacked gearfried. Anyone smart would've done that instead of attacking goblin force.
Hey at 6:08 why did the effect activate? I thought monster card effects didn't work on that Command Magician, unless I misunderstood
Yes but no, because dd doesn't target (and CCM negates target effects)
Classic yugioh structure deck duells is the beste series you guys made, I love it!
I know for a fact I opened these 2 structure decks, 17 years ago. I still have them in my box of cards. No memories of them from when I was a kid, they're all bent up, but I'm happy I have em.
That was actually really fun to watch. Saw a few highlights to the strengths of strategy that can be employed by both decks
the spellcaster deck was one of my FAVVV back in the day, i was in love wit spellcasters. dope vids!
The Warrior deck was my first Yu-gi-oh deck and a friend of mine bought the spellcaster deck, we used to duel sll the time.
Fun Facts about gearfried the swordmaster Is when it 1st came out us only able to get in this structure deck you could get nowhere else because it didn't get a reprint into Joey's world
These were my two favorite structure decks from back in the day, since I always leaned towards Spellcasters and Warriors as a kid/teen/young adult. Good flashback.
What app are you using for life points?
You guys are the best! I appreciate you guys because I have no one to play you-gi-oh with and I like that you guys do this kind of thing. Share the ❤️.
After playing master duel I really like these older formats! There's a lot more trading and back and forth; more opportunities to come back from a deficit. The back and forth in the modern format equates to "did you draw hand traps? If yes, you get to play. If no, the opponent gets Rhongobongo out turn 1 and you don't get to play."
YES! I been WAITING to see a Warrior’s Triumph vs Spellcasters Judgement duel and true to my hopes, Warriors have persevered and defeated the mighty sorcerers in a battle of Wills and tactics!
Alec made a risky play discarding Release Restraint for Wicked Breaking Flamberg, but he made it work! Nicely done, my fellow warrior!
Great video! I love watching structure duels! (mostly because I can actually follow along with whats happening in game lol)
