The second Total Drama reboot season gave Damien, Ripper, and Axel some character development; but Priya was reduced to a Mary Sue who took the screen time of other characters that should have made it further into the game. Also, network executives were responsible for requesting a reboot instead of picking up from where the original storyline left off. Terry McGurrin mentioned this on his social media. I would like the old cast to return with redemption arcs and possibly meet the reboot cast.
To me reboot season 2 was the second worst season of the franchise, the only reason why it's above All-Stars is because it just seemed extremely incompetent and lazy, while All-Stars was actively malicious and pretty much done to spite the fandom. Even then, reboot season 2 was the most dissapointing by far. It was a huge shame that the reboot's first season proved the skeptical wrong, not only making a good season that can stand on it's own, but also subverting many TD cliches and taking a step forward in the show's formula to make something way more sincere, engaging, and mature. It really was an evolution and easily the best the franchise has to offer to this point. And then season 2 took to steps back to make the most bland, cliched, and half-baked thing you could expect from a TD season. It's everything the first season stood against, literally what the skeptical fans expected season 1 to be. It was better to either wait more time to produce something that really does it justice, or to not show It, instead of dropping such a mess I assume what happened probably was that since both seasons were produced at the same time, they polished season 1 a lot to reach the level of quality it had, and then barely had time to produce a second season (many of it's flaws are shared with Pahkitew Island, another season that was extremely rushed. But I prefer Pahkitew Island because it wasn't so absurdly rehashed and it didn't shit on already existing characters). But man, even assuming it was a time crunch problem, it still doesn't explain such a drop in quality.
I completely agree with you. What baffles me most about this season is that there’s some people who think this season’s better than the first reboot season. I was on that boat several months ago, but I don’t get it at all nowadays.
the season 2 was better thant season1 what are youtalking about ?? are you mad about "an hetero love story"?? ... Caleb is really intelligent analatycal , have sass , and a big heart ...

Despite it flaws it's still better than All stars and Pi combined.
They should call this season "Total Drama Wasted Potential"
Nah thats Total Drama All Stars name

I Respect your opinion but personally I really don’t hate these season or any of the season TD expect for Pahkitew Island
This seems overwhelming of a season
my biggest issue with this season is jasimine can allow herself to quit by season 1 of total drama 2023 it said in the contract damien could not quit
idk about this dude I feel like alot of the stuff you say about priya and caleb is out of anger that priya and damien didn't become a thing
It's honestly more that I personally found Caleb to be really uninteresting.

Damien fans are so obnoxious man.
