Check antenna system impedance with a VOM. Then test at low, mid and high frequencies and see which yields the best performance as an antenna system will work best at certain frequencies. If everyone did this, they would be amazed at just how good an analog system can be.
I think this was my issue. Changed frequencies and it's a lot better. Went over a mile the other day down some RR tracks. Zero breakup! Expresslrs is awesome.
I'm having breakup at 1 meter, nevermind 100. Can't figure it out. Goes from excellent quality to completely blind. Seems correlated to how I move the goggles and the orientation angle relative to the quad. Maybe I need better goggles or antenna. I don't know though, it's just a Mobula7 problem, my other quads are more as expected.
I set betaflight to low power until armed, but it never went to 800mw. It just stayed at 25mw. Almost lost my 7 inch. Now I just leave it at full power. Something with the older version of BF on the FC, I think.
Same issue here. But the reason for this is this VTX max power is actually 600 mV, not 800 mV. If you change the label and value for 600 and 600 in BF, you will get the proper settings. At least this is what the VTX is indicating by 4 green blinks when armed (with low power disarm on). I have almost lost my quad two times becouse od this. Anyway, even though its blinking 4 times green now, my VTX range is around 400m.
That VTX does seem very under powered as well. I think someone tested it and it was 4 or 5 hundred on the real. I swear my low profile 350mW does better sometimes.
My analog video works great when I’m right next to the drone but as soon as I take a step back, it turns statics and I can’t see anything. Any help? I built this drone w your tutorial
Any chance you could drop me your vtx table? I'm running the same tx800 but the table on the speedybee site has power levels differing from what they advertise the vtx as
Differing as in the table only goes up to 600mw but has it labeled as 800 Idk what the deal is, mine also had to be soldered directly because the plug would not work at all for some reason
Hi Joshua great video, it has helped quite a bit however, I have an issue that I’m hoping you can help me with. My fpv feed breaks up at about 5 meters on my hglrc Zeus nano 350 mw vtx, is this normal? I’ve tried changing the output power and I can’t figure out why everyone else with this vtx is getting a much better fpv feed. Help would be much appreciated. 👍
I don't get more than 1/4 mile range with this vtx and good matching antennae. I noticed that the product page says you need to use a capacitor or the battery noise will worsen the vtx performance. But iflight didn't put a capacitor on the pre-build. Maybe it's just a bad vtx?
I have a iflight evoque and there is a little silver cap under the board. Hard to see. But regardless, without a cap you get black banding, but in my experience it doesn't screw with your range.

@@jasontrigg9911 Cool beans brother 👍🏽
Is there some link I can use to give me the information I need to do this?
Thank you
How do you check frequency @@jasontrigg9911

Second thing would be to change the pigtail. If it doesn't help, change the antenna.

Love my analog ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️
I do as well, I want to go digital, but that's more than my entire setup....
f digital, i love being able to build lightweight compact stuff and i with the "poor quality" i can still see and fly fine

That VTX sucks... You only get 480mw, not 800mw.
I changed it for a Speedybee tx800 and the change is like from night to day.
That's a drop in replacement? Wire connector and mounting holes?
Thank you
@@XtianApi Nop, 20x20 holes, only 5V in, and not the same connector. But is very easy to change!

Can anyone tell me how I get my quad to stop using race band 8
This was exactly my issue u are awesome
Same vtx same problem same antennas
On 25 on my whoop I can’t fly in the other room without loosing video
Same here, it's ok on 200 though. I think being in a city or near pylons means more interference too
On 25mw with ORTs I get the whole house and some outside from the couch.
Knoxville tennesse fpv
I unlocked my tinyhawk 2 vtx to 200mw and I couldn't even fly 30 feet, went back to 25mw and could fly around the outside of my whole house
Hd zero
Just switch to DJI... xD
