In real life too some people can't take any joke seriously. The Bottom line differs from a person to person, country to country. As an Indian, I too don't like it when foreign shows try to typecast my country. While making jokes people should be careful of where to put a fullstop.

honestly Ive had to be reminded that it was in fact a GI Jane joke and not a cuck joke every time this has come up. Even with the slap its hard to remember that it was that joke that set Will off
I think Trump should have kept the number 1 slot, because he repeatedly takes the bait. This was (I hope) a one off incident that Will apologised for.

*Chris Rock* --- took the smack like a professional, did not retaliate, refused to press charges and declined the offer to remove *Will Smith* immediately.
*Will Smith* --- where was that energy when *Jada Pinkett-Smith* made you look like an ass at the _"Red Table"?_ You let your emotions and frustration get the better of you. Be thankful that *Jada* got made fun of by *Chris Rock* and *not Ricky Gervais.*
*Jada Pinkett-Smith* --- if you cared, a real woman/wife would've stopped *Will Smith* from even getting up on stage.
Will Smith LAUGHED at the joke! It wasn't until he got serious side-eye and a glare from Jada that he chose "uh oh, I gotta go home with this &#@$%" instead of letting it go. You can tell who the boss in that family is!

I thought that Morissey's reaction to the Simpsons was hilarious. If I were ever to recognize myself in an insulting parody that didn't even use my name, I would not admit that I recognized myself. His reaction basically confirmed all the negative stuff in the episode.
Same with Tom Cruise and his reaction to South Park. In his reaction, he confirmed everything about him that was being parodied.

Chris Rock was giving Jada a complement claiming she could act and looking forward to seeing the film.

How does the president of the United states even have time to rant on every social media about "bad ratings shows/persons" every time some celebrity utter the slightest critcism about him?

I get that Will Smith has gotten a lot...A LOT...of attention regarding "the slap" but others on this list should have been listed higher than him because many of them are consistent and frequent in their reactions than Will's one-off.
I think Will's placement has a lot of bias due to how recent it is.
Because it got physical contrary to the others.

The South Park creators came up with the Fish sticks joke at the Fish market in Seattle. Where the people throw the fish to each other.. Not at a resort where fish jumped out of the water. It's on the DVD commentary
When so many are so fast to make jokes and memes about Will Smith and Chris Rock, it couldn't be that bad after all.
I never say it was the right thing of Will to do, but people have done worse before, and they still going on in their business.
So this event, it have gone more hilarious by the few days. Even better, if they are still friends, both Will and Chris could be in for example the next Bad Boys movie. But that must be the fifth one, since the fourth already is finish. Only in pre production now.
We never expected the self proclaimed "Mr. Nice guy" Will Smith, of all people, to react the way that he did. It would have been like if nice old Weird Al Yankovic was to slap someone.

The joke was not an insult & multimillionaire celebrities need a thicker skin. _GI Jane_ is a film about a beautiful, badass woman fighting institutional sexism - it wasn't a reductive reference & it was the venue for jokes at celebs' expense (heck, Leo was called a cradle robber earlier).
Jada has things most alopecia sufferers do not - eyebrows & a hairline with a full buzzcut. No one could have known about her personal health condition by just looking at her. Will Smith was an infantile bully & only came up on Chris Rock because he was a smaller guy. Rock handled that garbage admirably.
Even if he knew she was sick, her staring in GI Jane 2 might actually be a good outcome from it.
Though I agree with you 100%, I really hope after this incident they stop making the Academy Awards into low key roasts. We're here/watching for the celebration of movies, and the people who made them. Making jokes every so often is fine (they'd wouldn't be half as entertaining without them), but making them at the expense of people there to recieve an award, to most of them is the greatest honor they could ever receive, just leaves such a bad feeling for some folks. There's a time & a place, and speaking of that WE HAVE THE GOLDEN GLOBES!
Keep the Golden Globes as a roast venue. You already know what to expect when you're there, and the Hollywood Foreign Press is pretty damn bias making some of the award choices utterly bizarre, so without the roast element, the Golden Globes would be utterly boring.

@YuSeeMi Good points. The Globes is a room full of drunk celebrities - the appropriate venue for roasting. The entire Oscars show this year was ill-conceived cringe and it was the network/producers who set that tone to chase ratings. Agreed - the Oscars need to return to it's traditional focus on the art.
Will did that because he knew it was a safe bet. He knew Chris Rock wouldn’t fight back & if he did he prob wouldn’t be much of an opponent. I can almost guarantee had it been someone like a 50 cent making the same joke , Will Smith would’ve sat his behind right in his seat & took the L.

Exactly, that was a big problem at the time in a lot of "comedy" tons of anti trump stuff but most of it lazy and preachy not funny, which is a shame because he's prime for mocking.

Will Smith will never be remembered for anything more than that slap....he most likely ruined the rest of an amazing career...instead of taking the high road or throwing a joke back at Chris, he took it that one step too far...someone who is in the public eye, who doesn't even hardly cuss..a role model...it was a letdown to see him do that...no apology tour is gonna erase that image...I'm sorry Jada seems sus to me and always has! Will Smith clearly has no idea how his actions affected not only Chris Rock, but also a million of celebrities anticipating their Oscars as well as his loyal fans. The fact that he slapped Chris onstage was virtually inexcusable, unforgivable and downright embarrassing. Chris has been one of my favorite comedians for as long as I can remember and I don’t blame him if he refuses to forgive Will and / or breaks off his friendship with Will due to his horrible behavior at the 2022 Oscars. Also, Chris was unaware that Jada was suffering from alopecia, so Will slapping him and screaming at him in the audience over a petty joke was definitely uncalled for. In my honest opinion, Will is not sorry for slapping Chris, he’s just doing damage control and begging for Chris’ forgiveness and to let go of the slap 24/7 and it’s ridiculous. But it’s good to know that Will cannot attend any future Academy events for 10 years as punishment for his unnecessary violence. Will should’ve talked to Chris in private during the commercial breaks or after the Oscars and politely asked Chris not to poke fun at Jada, but no, he had to do it his own way, resulting in his actions overshadowing his victory and the other celebrities’ victories. One thing’s for sure, it’s gonna be hard to look at Will the same way for a long time.
