Dane- your videos have inspired me so much lately, I cant even explain how fired up I am, and ive never been in a hard boat! years ago i rafted a lot and im feeling the river calling my name......this traverse looks sick and im a big guy and camping would be good.....should i just pull the trigger and order one?! huge thanks to your whole family and all those people who make me wanna get off my ass and send it.
Killer boat. This is my first WW boat I've owned, although I've paddled many. Super functional with easy storage, great outfitting (wish it had adjustable knee brace though), and plenty of performance too. I picked the 9' version for more WW performance, and it fits great at 5'9" and 165lbs. Wouldn't go larger for my size, as I am still forward of the middle seat position, with tons of adjustment both ways. Biggest benefit is it keeps the wife happy while I paddle on the flatwater with her, tracks super straight. Will save the WW performance review for more seasoned paddlers, but I couldn't recommend it enough.
I've had the 2018 Karma Traverse for a little over a month so far and absolutely love it! I have the 10-foot version as I'm 6' 200 lbs. I have paddled between 80-100 miles with it on Class I (II) rivers and flat water. The retractible skeg is great! I'm taking a rolling class now and slowly buying gear to use on whitewater as that is my plan for later this Fall/Winter and next Spring. I can't wait to continue building up my skills with this kayak and plan on running rivers in the South East (Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia) and Colorado, too.
Great review, great statistics and functionality well explained! Well thought out design with many custom additions that are not on other crossover boats!
i would love to see more reviews about this kayak.. looks liken it would be the perfect crossover kayak, definitely giving the dagger katana a run for its money
Yeah, I've been trying to find as many reviews and comments because it looks like a great kayak. Surprised not to find more people saying something one way or the other. Those that I have found were all positive though.
How is the plastic thickness and quality? I purchased a couple of Pyranha Fushions and frankly the new boats plastic quality and toughness compared to my old Pyranha h:3 is pathetic. I cant even tie them down to a car rack without leaving dents in them. Who wants to spend 1200.00 on a boat if it melts every time it gets warm. My next boat I'm thinking Karma RG if its up to the kind of hard abuse I'll throw at it.

This would be cool for night runs
hows the tilt on the seat's floor? level with the ground or sloped down in the back?
looks amazing !
Hey Dane, Do you know anyone who might have a used one of these? I am on the hunt.
I really want one of these! I have an older Jackson Hero... anyone know how the Karma Traverse differs in terms of rolling ability and stability?
Has this kayak changed at all since this video? Torn on this or dagger katana but really like Jackson foot pads vs the tiny pegs everyone else uses.
We aren't molding them at the moment but this is still the latest version of this design. I am sure there are some out there.
@@danejacksonkayak would love another, I have 8 boats and this is the best!
@@danejacksonkayak any particular reason you’re no longer producing this?
Yeah, I would love to buy one. 🤷🏼
Hey there. Would this be suitable for some light coastal surfing, as well as whitewater? Or is it strictly a white water boat?
UnpleasantFiction I'd say it could be used for any type of kayaking, sea, whitewater, flatwater or just river running.

Feeding the bungee threw the foam in the foam on the foot box is really annoying. Other than that it's an awesome "dual sport" kayak.
