Compression Packing Cubes vs Non Compression Packing Cubes!

I was recently gifted a set of Gonex compression packing cubes! As a hand luggage traveller I've been using regular packing cubes for years, and just never got around to replacing ones that were 'doing the job'.
Here's a comparison of my regular packing cube against a compression on of the same size.

Thank you! Going to take the compression ones on their first proper trip this weekend (domestic, so no flying this time), so I'll see what I think of them when using them out and about! Would definitely help with creating a little extra space, especially when using a small bag. BUT obviously compressing and squeezing extra in a bag would then increase the weight, so I hope they don't get me into a false sense of security thinking I suddenly have extra space!
