  • Maybe it's the good karma that comes from turning 30, but CMW scored a double-bonus with this year's celebrity interview, Paul Rodgers. Not only is Rodgers one of the greatest rock singers of all time, a frontman with Free, Bad Company, The Firm and recently, Queen. But, following a citizenship ceremony last October, he's also Canadian content! The platinum-selling singer-songwriter and self-taught multi-instrumentalist will answer questions about his amazing, ongoing career and play a couple acoustic songs, making this a session to remember for the NEXT 30 years.

Paul is the total package, he’s been singing brilliantly in rock groups since the mid 1960’s, is a fantastic songwriter, and plays guitar and keyboards really well.
Simply, he is the greatest rock vocalist of all time, because of his longevity (almost 60 years) what a talent, long live Paul Rodgers!

I was on the same flight as him yesterday and couldn't figure out why he looked familiar. The guy next to me said, "That's Paul Rodgers". He's a really nice guy, I walked right up to him in the little Kelowna airport at the luggage carousel and shook his hand. He was totally cool and it was great to meet him. He's headlined Wembley stadium, sold out arenas around the world and has recorded with the greatest musicians in rock, yet he was genuinely interested in hearing about my stupid vacation.

    Paul Rodgers is a world 🌎 treasure ✨ 💖. Including Canada 🇨🇦.
I have loved his voice and music 🎶 for many years like all of you. Free was great. I grew up with Bad Company's wonderful songs 🎵.
His tribute album to Muddy Waters is a particular favorite. With so many great guitarists 🎸 , Jeff Beck and Neal Schon who he collaborated with further, were highlights for me.
    His solo recordings are fantastic.
Truly a great rock and blues vocalist for all time. 🕉

In the 70s you would have bet your life Paul Rodgers would have ended up crashing in life. I wished the interviewer had asked him about the anger he had when young, because the impression you got of Paul Rodgers in those days was that he was ready to physically fight you. It's very much a surprise how he's turned out so amiable and pleasant, and that he avoided all the other forms of self-destruction, allowing him to end up so well preserved.

Hope he gets Back together with "Simon Kirke, Mick Ralphs & "BAD Co" & does a REUNION Tour in the US REAL SOON. The 70s Music will NEVER Die EVERR? Anyone who listens to the Music of the 70s "LOVES It"! All My Kids/ Grandkids, Nieces/Nephews LOVE the 70s Music. They have Wiped me Out of Most All of my CDs of 70s groups. But, they are Not allowed into my collect -ion of "Vinyl Albums, 8 Tracks, Reel to Reels"? Lol. IF, this world lasts for another 100 or so yrs Big IFF?? They Will still be Playing & Listening to this kind of "REAL MUSIC" Without a doubt!! This was when Music was "REAL"!! They do Not need All this Vulgarity, Foul language and/or Nudity like this CRAPP they Try to call Music today? Call me Old Fashioned or whatever. But, i find it "Totally & Completely UNNecessary"!! I used to work at a zoo, and I was in charge of feeding the big cats (panther, lion, etc.) They ate horse meat in the early evening each day. It came ground in large chunks in 5 lb. plastic tubes, similar to how brains he either (liver sausage is packaged. The lioness got 5 lbs. per day, with vitamins and the male lion got 10 lbs. of ground horsemeat for supper every evening. As you can imagine, after eating that, he would sleep the entire night through 'til morning.😊

I saw him in 2010, (the video on here "Paul Rodgers Little Creek Casino 10-9-10" is mine) and it was the best concert I have ever seen. he's coming to my home town of Tacoma Wa on Sept 30, 2107 and can't wait to see him again. his bass player has been to my house, hopefully I can talk him into getting me to meet Paul?

Bad Company was my 1st favorite band in 1974 and they're still my favorite. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Paul Rodgers when I was 18 and again at 39. The 1st time I was walking out of a Milwaukee nightclub and saw a limousine driving slowly down the street. Paul was hanging out the moonroof and I'm like "that's Paul Rodgers." I yelled "hey Paul, I have some great weed." And the limo stopped and he said "get in." I actually had some Jamaican Gold which pales in comparison to the weed people smoke now.
Anyway, I get in and Boz Burrell was a tad messed up that night and he was in the back of the limo. Paul said they had just flown in from Minneapolis. So I'm rolling a joint in total disbelief and completely star struck. Paul wanted to find some females (this was the Desolation Angels tour) so I'm directing the limo driver to an area where there might be some women. It was a Tuesday night and not much happens on a Tuesday night in Milwaukee. Well, Boz said to Paul a couple of times "I was great tonight, right?" Paul pacified him while we drove around and no women to be had.
Paul told me the hotel they were staying at and said I could get backstage passes for the upcoming concert. I already had 5th row tickets. So went the the hotel the following day and got the backstage passes he promised me. Actually the concert wasn't as good as the previous time I saw them. Backstage consisted of a trailer that I was not allowed into. Nevertheless, the experience was beyond cool.
The 2nd time was a private show for a Classic Rock radio station at Potowatami Casino. It was our morning show's team 20th Anniversary. By this time Paul wasn't drinking or under the influence of anything except maybe some fruit juice concoction. Lol. The staff got to meet him and talk with him and get a picture taken. I was totally inebriated like a fucking moron and wasn't at my best. Paul asked me if I had a request for a song for the show and LIKE AN IDIOT I said "Easy on My Soul." I wanted to impress him with my depth of Bad Co's catalog. Well there was no piano on the stage so that wasn't going to happen. Lol. I should have said "Too Bad" or "Sweet Little Sister." Paul kinda looked at me like I was a drunken fool, which I was! But he was so nice.
We literally had our stations professional photographer there and he had a on site darkroom and developed pictures right there so Paul could sign them afterthe show. Which he graciously did. So i had an 8×10 with Paul & I autographed and I fucking left it at the casino never to be found. Boy was I an idiot that night.
Lastly, Howard Leese was his lead guitarist that night and stayed with him through now. Great story.

I never met him but we had the same dentist in White Rock. I asked him if he could give me the same smile as Paul Rodgers? He said, no. End of that story.

I agree. Tattoos used to mean something when they were counter-cultural, but now they have been culturally-co-opted, and stolen, as an affectation, by people who do nothing counter-cultural. Ink doesn't make you 'unique'. When everyone else has the same thing, it just makes you look like a 'follower'.
You wanna look REALLY 'counter-cultural'? Go out and pick up trash on a highway. Get involved to prevent cruelty to children or animals. You wanna look really 'fucking bad-ass?' Pay one month's rent for a single Mom, with two kids. Buy a cheap laptop computer for a returning vet, so he can do his homework, to get his degree. Be the person who cares, when no one else does. That's 'bad-ass'! No one sees it, though...
Fuck. I wish I could afford to get a bunch of shit scribbled on my arms and neck, to make me look like I'm 'tough'. I just can't afford that now. I have real work to do…
