Hi mate, I know this video was a long time ago , hopefully maybe your still viewimg these - My transit is super reeky out the back, pure black , lately ive started having the van go a little rough in idle and occasional when idling she cuts out. No engine lights on right enough , do you reckon its worth swapping the EGR even without the eml on? Also to add, ive found egr on ebay , its £55 is it worth going for it ? Dont really have the 140 to buy a genuine one . Cheers
A wk ? If its the 2.4 diesel and same engine then this can be done in a day , this took me 4 hrs from start to finish, so a wk I think there taking liberties with you and trying to get more money, how much they quoted ? I would get a second or third quote, or just check out other videos on here and do your self if your a confident diy person.
@@newmedes Hi bud , thanks for replying, my van is diesel 2.2 .2012 they have quoted me £350, unfortunately I'm not able to do it myself due to disabilities. Wish I was younger and healthier I'd of done it myself.
Hi. I've got a machanic changing the EGR valve. For some reason while doing this he has soaked the whole engine with engine oil. Not sure if he knows what he is doing. Is this a normal thing that happens when changing or is he messing up my van? Thanks.
If its a cog looking light with exclamation mark then that usually indicates a problem with power train or sensor etc , if your mk7 sounds rattly then I'd go for timing chain tensioner that can throw up that light aswell or it could be software problem , did the van go into limp mode when it came on?
@@newmedes no I was doing about 50mph I felt it slightly judder then the light came on it seems to be running ok can't get in the garage till Wednesday just wondering if it's still ok to drive x
Well to be honest I have no clue, if I was you I'd wait until you get to a garage, it could be diesel injectors or your ecu software may need updating or totally something else , someone else may see this post and shed some light onto the subject before Wednesday and sort of give you a clue . Sorry I can't be more of a help .
What was the readout on diagnostic or lights on dash for you to decide to change the egr valve? My lights are the exclamation mark in the circle and the traction control , plus a mechanic said the read out was low pressure on turbo ?
The eml light came on and van went into limp mode, think code was p0404 , dont quote me on that tho , change egr and van has been ok since. Was very dirty inside old one .
Well it took me 2 half hours to do myself , I wasn't rushing so I'm guessing experience mechanic prob do it in hr hrhalf , so prob 350 to 400 quid including part at garage, buy if you can do it yourself then do it .
Mine is a 2.2 RWD. I've got the EGR loose, but it won't come up past the inlet manifold and won't go down because the EGR Cooler is in the way. It sounds very simple but can anyone tell me how the valve comes out of the engine bay?
if the solenoid magnet was broken inside the erg motor would that cause the van to not turn over properly?
I believe the egr valve is at the front of the engine on the 2.2 tdci?
This is the 2.4 diesel so egr is at the back , not sure where it is on 2.2 engine
It's still at the back, more or less the same place as this video.
Which egr did you buy mines developed 4 codes for maff sensor and egr blockage
With a faulty egr valve. Is that the reason the van looses power it feels like the turbo isn't engaging and really low on power
Yep thats exactly what was happening to mine , I also had bit of black smoke out back , change egr and was ok after that .
@@newmedes I haven't got any black smoke. I changed the fuel filter that was dirty but no difference
Awesome video very helpful
Thanks very much glad it helped .

Sorry mate I've only just seen this , did you sort it ?
Hi do you need to cod the trubo when fitted?
No don't need to code
@newmedes hi thanks but I know that now. Thanks
How did you screw out the M6 bolt behind the valve? Three bolts are no problem, die last one ist nightmare at the RWD
Yep total nightmare, can be done just have to persevere with it.
Hey did you get those blanking plates from and did they work?
Sorry just seen your msg , I got blanking plates from ebay
Hi , could you please tell me how long it took you, I've got a 2012 model and the garage have said that they would need it for a week

@@markfrost9005 well tbh £350 is not a bad price , price of the part will be nearly £150 , 200, but it taking a wk seems a little long .
FWD or Rear bro?
Rwd
Why would you buy a new egr valve if blanking it off?? Cheaper to blank off completely and pay £50 to put the light out?
Great video all the same
Hello.
1. Is it difficult to pull it out?
2. Is there any chance to clean it or is better to put a new one?
Hi to clean it properly your need to take it out but if your going to do that your better of replacing it
Its bit of a pig but doable couple of hours work , good luck 👍

I dont know why he has done that , no need to soak engine with oil , its not normal for that to happen .Have you asked the guy why that has happened.
@@newmedes He made me feel like it was a normal thing to happen. What do I do in a situation like this? 😔
@@mazavelitelly397 its never something I've done when I've done egr valves , what to do , only you can decide .
@@newmedes well. They told me it was fixed took it home Thursday night then Friday morning the engine seized. 😔
@@mazavelitelly397 sorry to hear that mate , not good .
Hi mate did it juddering and smoke
It did smoke which stopped when I changed the egr , didnt judder tho .
Did it lose power min won’t go above 30 mph?
I've got a 2008 transit this morning a yellow light with an exclamation mark in the middle came up is this egr ?????

I wouldn't of thought that light would come on for egr the engine management light would be lit if there is a fault with egr .

Do you have an AAT sensor on this one and what is the part?
Hi sorry for very late reply tbh I cant remember not had van now for a while , sorry
where did you get the egr valve from?
I got it from euro carparts, cant remember how much it was tho.

where was the removal and installation
Yep fair play mate , like I said I took egr of before I done video of it . Thought I explain reasonably well , sorry if you didn't like it .
I came here to check something eith egr valve you dont even show the damn thing in video or removing it its already out
