I'm really glad you've got your channel going - especially since Patlabor EZY will supposedly come out next year. I hope this gives a boost to one of the best series - and not just animated - of all time.

Thank you! I appreciate the nice comments, it's not much but I do my best to make Patlabor centered content regarding things I don't see a lot of people talk about

@@ProtoMekka I'm glad you are. When I first got into the television series, it had ended airing and the Patlabor 2 movie had just come out on VHS. I really wish channels like yours had been up back then. No-one outside of Japan (and East Asia) knew about the show. It's cool that it's finding its audience in the West over the last number of years. It really was one of the best written shows, especially regarding character development and slice-of-life stories.

@@richardyasushiii3848I took an interest back in 2022 and decided to watch On Television. Not too long after I decided to try and make it my mission to watch everything I could and read everything I could get my digital hands on.
Besides that I also have been doing my best online to spread the good word of Patlabor by making art, writing fanfictions, memes, working on the wiki, and so on. I really do adore the franchise and I wish more people were able to see it beyond that one mecha anime from decades ago.

@@ProtoMekka Cool - you're doing the work of evangelizing the show to those who don't know it. Patlabor suffers from being classified as a "mech" show, when it really isn't actually. It's a character-driven show first and foremost, and then socio-political. The mech aspect is actually forms the context and is a framing device for the drama. Anyone who watches the Television Series to the end will realize that eventually.

@ richardyasushiii3848 It was never just a mecha, the characters and the socio-political context were very real and important in the show.

Honestly, to me TV Asuma feels like the definitive version of the character... And definitely my favorite one

Thank you for mixing all these media types' story to help us better understand Asuma.

I'm pretty sure at 11:00 the episode ends with them uncovering the bodies of a samurai's retainers after he had gone mad and killed them all which is why the place was cursed
