She did not lip it! 100% live! She has not sung Can’t Let Go since 1992! The beginning of the whistle part was a head voice (E6 I think) and the rest of it she went for the whistle in G6 and G#6. She wouldn’t obviously use her vocals from 1992 again, that would sound different, with her tone too.

As we saw with Whitney, it's not easy physically, mentally or emotionally being a superstar in this business, and I think people are starting to see the value in Mariah and even Celine as we see these ladies carry on with grace the legacy they've built from touching so many lives over the years.

Not only is she respecting the voice she has now (by lowering the key), but (personally speaking) it really makes you listen and appreciate the song even more. I love what she's done with the song overall. She gave it a different aura and vibe. She took it from a pop song to something more like a 'grown folk' track. If you get what I mean, lol!
