This has to be one of my favourite performances, actually this whole SNL segment, as her Can't Let Go performance was spectacular too! Her placement & phrasing are mindblowing, examples; 2:17-2:21 2:40-2:46 You can even see from her mouth, where she placing those belts & the ease she has, which can be heard from how bell like her sound is in that area. Not forgetting how her pronunciation & phrasing are on point! Whilst telling that story & really emoting. Wish she let go during performances like this now a days.
Now this is more of what I expect from Mariah. I wish she could have performed live like this consistently like for the first 10 years of her career at least. Her range is her greatest weapon and she uses it beautifully especially in chest! Loved it!
