Be ok with something progressing slower! Legion can literally be done with just burning events and bonks, monster park can be done with 2 a day and not 7, drops will come even if you kill daily bosses 3 times a week instead of 7. It’s ok to slow down if you aren’t an end game pusher.
@@koopakape tbh i got a wh boss mule and it's okay damage and burst are good, got two s, can flash jump while using hurricane xD, has a bind and can use summoned panther as puppet to draw boss aggro not the best survivability though
Your advice on picking a character based on looks is actually huge. I’m pumped you suggest to pick based on that. And yeah backing it up with a good YT search is solid, I did this. Turns out Mechanic and Blaster kept looking dope, I landed on Mechanic and it’s freaking solid to play for me.
@@jefftraboulsy8631 I think almost all games were designed this way! it’s just us a society trying to be super insecure about not dealing as much damage as a night lord or whatever. We’re too obsessed with min maxing sometimes vs just finding what is most fun for us!!
Appreciate you talking about burnout, I’ve played the game on and off for like 18 years now and have quit so many times because of burnout. I’m taking things a little slower this time and it feels much better
+1 to the last point about practicing bosses. I remember years ago, when I first started practicing hard gollux on my aran. I'd go in each day and not even expect to kill it, instead simply focusing on developing my reflexes, maybe chipping the health bar down a little further than yesterday. Took 1-2 weeks iirc before I killed it. Similar thing happened not long after, with hard magnus. A common theme in the tips of this video is setting the right expectations for yourself. Maplestory is definitely a marathon, not a sprint.
Thanks for the video! I agree with everything you talked about. One thing that although not completely bricking account that you didn’t mention is to take advantage of events and not sleep on them. Events make progression so much better and because of the time restraining nature of them you can regret not doing them. Specially legacy stuff like the Abyssal expedition legion block we had a few months ago. That kind of event rarely happens
good tips. as far as starforcing, I got all my superiors to 21* on SSF and had ~40b left, so I decided to push my CRA from 21 to 22, starting with the hat. I boomed 26 times and only got it back to 21 before I was low on meso. talk about an outlier haha. but that shitshow aside, I was pretty content with the overall gains. just try to come into an event with more than enough to hit your goals (on average) and don't let the gambling addiction win if you start to lose progress
While I play in GMS Scania and don’t get the meso gains from souls you reboot players get, your advice is amazing all the same. I’m one of those players currently sitting at not being able to solo HDarknell lol. About 83m cp as a bucc and the one fatal flaw of my class is truly having every tied to damage. So I either try bursting his hp down or save them for lethal moments. I am trying though 😂😂 glad this was in my recommended, you gained a new subscriber 😃

9:00 is prob the best advice in this vid so many people hate SF because "its a system where u can get weaker" but this is really only true in very unlucky cases or if u try to push to 22 with 2 bil in ur inventory starting at 17 stars.
Yeah pretty much. Although people only recommend rouletting your gear on Arcanes (going for 1 star at a time across multiple gear). There's no reason not to do it for all your gear of similar tier/rarity. It minimizes losses since you can only lose stats on one piece at a time. That and 21 is honestly fine to stop at for a long time. the avg cost of 0-22 is double that of 0-21. You'll progress a lot faster if you settle at 21 until 22 is the last thing to do. Way too many new players get baited into going for 22* when they're only 17* on all their gear.
Yeah I feel that burnout thing. I am wanting to grind daily’s on all my classes that I want to eventually use a boss mule but it’s just too much for me all at once. So I have been taking it slow doing one class at a time which is a lot easier. Rip future me when needing those classes though 😂
Nah man one at a time is WAY better plus event buffs will always help those dailies go by faster. Like right now I do arcane dailies on my shad sub main and my next boss mule I’m working on

regarding the burnt out part, i remember training all characters to level 141 easily, but when the time came to train them to 200, all the cubing caused me to stop playing for 3 weeks, then i talked to my friend about it, he suggested that instead of cubing all the equipment dropped from daily bosses, i should just get those level 100 equipments that mobs drop in leafre and just cube once and then share them among my characters, class by class
I did the burn out hitting 6th job xD First time in a loong time I burned out lol! I play like once or twice a week so I'm so happy that they added buffs to training mode! I just don't have time to wait around for them to reset and stuff sadly :o
The first item I ever tried to get 21 stars on, I went into the 99th percentile for meso spent without reaching it (specifically, I actually didn't hit 20 stars a single time despite 18 booms and ~35b spent on ssf). I'm not saying that it doesn't average out with other items over a long time, but if that's the very first experience of a newer player trying to breach into the midgame, it's completely understandable if the experience massively upsets them. Luck can be very cruel at times when it's entirely dependent on RNG, but persistence will always win out eventually if they're still enjoying the game and keep going.
This was the reason why I scrapped my Marksman bossing mule in favor of Corsair instead. It’s not the meta or anything but I enjoy this class more than marksman. I also am okay retiring from legion at 8.6K. I told people 9K legion is not my target right now. Also, it took me 25 Black Mage practice runs to get comfortable with the fight. Not to mention: I play this game in an unusual way. I actually prefer to solo some bosses early on and then level up afterwards. Like I’m only lvl 255 (as of this comment) and will soon attempt to solo Cslime, Cgloom, and Hvhilla, but only because I’m comfortable with the boss fights and can survive for a lengthy period of time.
Yes it's hell playing mules I hated, when I moved on to Hyperion from Kronos I made it a point to avoid every mule I disliked playing regardless of how resource efficient/op they are.
I came back in December and hyper burned a pathfinder without knowing if I’d enjoy the class I got so lucky I fell in love with the class. I also fell back in love with shadowers and lowkey NL
The problem with HLotus and HDarknell is that its just artificial difficulty by spamming the screen with garbage that stuns/1 Hits (Sometimes you can't even see your character on the screen). The fight doesn't actually feel better till you over gear it and can kill it faster. I think they should def rework fights to involve for more skillful gameplay instead of just screen spam garbage. I feel Grandis bosses are a better example better boss fights.
I agree that Grandis bosses are designed better for sure. But I think HLotus and HDarknell, although they have artificial difficulty, that persists in the bosses in the future as well. Part of bossing is learning to track your character at all times.

Don't use calculators, they don't give you experience to know how things work for yourself and they remove your need to think which makes it where you no longer think and just mindlessly do what someone else tells you to do.
You do need to acquire your own personal experience which means gaining your own successes and failures, you can still learn from other people, but let it be in a way where you can still experience things for yourself and you are still thinking for yourself and not turning into a mindless drone going through the motions.

"DS is a terrible class", "bossing is way too hard they should make bossing way easier to fix the meta", "dont use calculators just mess up a bunch. Making uninformed decisions is actually good, you wouldnt want to be a BOT"
