Duky, I’ve been watching your channel only recently. I got back to MS the end of summer and needed guides on how to get back in. You and a couple other channels have been instrumental in the enjoyment of this game for me. Keep working hard and pushing out quality content!! This is awesome.

I really love videos like this. There’s a lot of knowledge in the game that isn’t well explained that veterans take for granted, and from the perspective of a new player it would put them in a bit of a “crisis”. The video is well structured and goes over the rings and their impact very well. I do feel like this channel is the #1 spot to show a new player how Maple works. IMO Nexon tries really hard to retain players (with fomo and gambling and sunk cost) but fails in acquiring new players because of how daunting the game is. I hope more people will recognize how much help this channel is for new players as well as for the growth of the game.

Great vid, just wanted to point out though that the odds of 1x 50% is not the same as 5x 10%, the odds of failing 5x 10% is 0.9^5, which is 0.59 so the chance of landing one would be 1-0.59 which is 0.41 or 41%.
Crisis, ngl love watching and listening your vids in the back and just learn the game regardless as a beginner or veteran on certain aspects of the game. I dont really care what others say about you, your vids are super useful and lit.

Like the guy before said, 5 all together gives you 50%, while 5 individual gives you 1 - 10%^5 = 40.951% chance. Basically it means if you use it individually, you could get really lucky. But if you use it all together, you are more guaranteed to get one. But the more grindstones you use, the less a difference it makes suppose Nexon is honest and correct about the rates. It is 0.65 vs 0.75 at 10, 0.79 vs 0.87 at 15, and 0.87 vs 0.93 at 20.

The rest 90% you can either 10% success or 90% fail again. So the success rate is 10% + 90% * 10% = 19% instead of 20%. On the other hand, while there is a difference in a single 5x stones, the entire process enjoys the same expectation (1/10% = 10 and 1/50% * 5 = 10). It's the variance that is different. This means, 1) Given the same number of grindstone, hit 5 altogether is more likely to get success. 2) If you choose to hit one by one, you enjoy the perk of possible early success. If you choose to hit 5 by 5, you have the edge of higher chances. It is a trade off. 3) By saying "equal probability" you are suggesting (including to yourself) that hit 5x single is the same as hit 5 together except that you can start early ignoring the cost of meso. But no, it is actually a trade off where you can choose to take risks or not. If you look at an extreme case where suppose nx gives the chance to hit 10 stones a time with 100% probability. It still has the expectation of 10, variance 0. Obviously 10x singe hit does not guarantee you a success. In fact, the calculation tells us the success rate is 65.1322%. The trade off is that you could possibly succeed with less than 10 stones if you hit it one by one.

Is their a way to know if a Oz ring is worth it more than the rings I have equipped ? For example I’m a DA and have a Cont 2 ring and ROR 2 but I don’t use them because I have a 17* Gollux, Slime , Kanna, Reinforced I see end gamers swap in and out a ROR while bursting but what about a Cont that has to be equipped for 2min ?
