Our Oldest daughter was married on the beach on the north end of Duck. There was a store in Duck that had the absolute BEST seafood dip and my girls were there when they opened about 4 straight days to buy some seafood dip. We loved it there.
So glad you're doing better Tara. It's good to see the 2 of you on the road again. We stayed twice at Onslow Beach at Camp Lejeune and love camping at the beach. In Dec 2020, we actually experienced snow on the beach!
OBX is our favorite area. We especially love the wild horses. I got some of the best pictures of them this year. We were there for two weeks recently. The last week of April and first week of May. We stay at OBX Campground in Kill Devil Hills. Reservations already in place for 2024.
Thank you for admiring the horses from a safe distance. We hear far to many stories of close encounters that often end in injury to both horse and humans. I am blessed to call the Outer Banks home and are happy you enjoyed your stay! Other than being a bit cool you lucked out, the rest of May was dismal. Well Done
Its always amazing to follow your journey. Your international friends and family (Nairobi/Kenya 🇰🇪/ Africa) loves your content and the both of you. Be blessed.
I love how you show us where you at all the time its so soothing like the music you pin to your videos. Gives me the vibe of going on vaca up that way. Looks so beautiful over there especially the beach. The sunset too its gorgeous. Love that you both have so much fun all the time. God bless you all. Stay safe.
I really loved Camp Hatteras. Biggest item to note is no ground fires at the camp sites, but you may bring an elevated fire pit. We also got a beach fire permit while there and cooked dinner by the ocean and enjoyed it past dusk, a great family memory for us. Never knew about Corolla, so now I have something new to experience there.
We were in Kill Devil Hills back in the 1990 and visiting that area when I was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC in the Army just before the first Gulf War. We driving and it rained so hard I had to stop. It is the only time I have ever had to stop during a rain storm. Thanks for the memory! Great video!
We stayed there last August and had a nice time. The area next to site 380 (whatever site you watched the sunset from) gets packed in the summer months and relatively noisy. The whole park is packed in the summer.
Hello. Since I'm not a blogger I would like to leave a fun tip here. If you are traveling near colonial Williamsburg you don't have to pay admission if you don't want to go into any building. Also there is plenty of free parking for RVs there. We rode the e-bikes thru the area and it was great. Late afternoon is best. Also 4 blocks behind The George whythe house is the marketplace. Wonderful restaurants and other fun things to do. I hope this helps others have as much fun as we did. Travel safe. Robert Woods.
I was on the OBX, doing a wild horse tour when your video posted. I thought that was funny. RE the car's burning up. Our tour guide actually mentioned that. It's from overheating your transmission from driving in sand. If you take the temp up too much the transmission fluid will explode and catch fire. You were on the hard pack down in the wet sand. But if you up in the soft sugar sand, your transmissions works 3 or 4 times harder to power through. That's why the airing down is such a big deal, so that your tires can "float" across rather than "plow" through it.
If you continued further North on the beach you would reach a Firehouse, open on Wednesdays for visitors, and a few miles after that, the Virginia State Line. My family vacations there every year in a rental house just shy of a mile from the Virginia State Line. So beautiful, peaceful, and the fishing is amazing. Go back again if you have the chance.
Love the Outer Banks! Have stayed at that campground. Didn’t know how Duck has changed. Thanks for hanging with the horses. Safe travels and thanks for sharing 😊
We're going in October. We always stay on site 380. They always say they won't save spaces. But every year I request it and they've accommodated. There is a Food Lion about 20 minutes south in Avon.
Thanks guys I think you just planned some of my trip later this year. Vermont and New Hampshire for the colors, Assateague Island for the ponies and then North Carolina for the horses. It will make my wife happy. Thanks guys and keep the good stuff coming.
During low tide and not driving in the surf / ocean water, should be fine. When I did not have my 4x4, took a Toyota Corolla on the hard pack sand. The beach ramps have the soft sand often, as you experienced.
Finally an rving channel that features the eastern United States and the beauty there in. Thank you so much for your content. I really love that motorcycle too!
We usually don't camp much locally.. We like to get away from everything when we can. We love it here and it's beautiful.. But we don't often camp in our back yard so to speak... Lol
We're planning a trip to the Outer Banks probably next year. I was so excited to see that y'all took Daisy with you to the beach to see the horses!! She's such a cutie pie!! God Bless!
We took our camper to the Outer Banks years ago and we were parked one sand dune away from the ocean. Our camper was a mess from salt spray, the heat that week was hot and muggy and thundershowers rolled through quite often off the sound. We were on Hatteras Island and even though we were right on the ocean, you couldn't see it due to the dunes.
That was absolutely beautiful guys. The horses on the beach were my favorite. I'm still wondering were they get their water. I can understand your frustration when you found you had no card in your camera. Many years ago I was at a beautiful beach in California, where the sunset was truly amazing. The setting sun was filtered just right behind clouds that ranged from vibrant gold to deep purple and crimson and all in-between. I was so excited about the way the rays of the sun were hitting and playing off the water and was hopeful my camera (a Canon AE-1 ) was getting it all. And yes, this was many years ago and while they didn't have cards in them then you needed film. Much to my dismay after a good 15 minutes of changing F stops and listening to my motorwind I glanced at the back of my camera. It was only then that I realized I didn't even have film in my camera. I was instantly devastated. The light and visuals had been perfect. These were once in a lifetime shots and now it was all gone. The sun was setting. The spectacular visual scene that had been there just 20 minutes earlier was gone. It was a hard lesson learned, but believe me it was one that has stayed with me all these years. And while I've added a few card ready sophisticated cameras to my stock I still have a couple of AE-1' in my array of cameras. I can't tell you how much I enjoy your weekly video's. They are great. ! ! Thank you for the hard work and effort you put into them.
We loved the outer banks. We always stayed on Ocracoke Island at the National Park campground. No hookups, though. You could run your generator during the day.
Nice video, nice of you to show us how you play cards with your camera too, I am a little slow, but I do catch on, really... Happy trails to one and all
We were in the Outer Banks 2 weeks ago and stayed in at the KOA in Currituck. Your campground I think is better as you are right there on the beach. So many things to see in the area, from the Wright Brother memorial to lighthouses to some great breweries. We really loved this area. Great video guys, safe travels!!
If you loved driving on the beach on the East Coast, ya gotta get across to Washington State… we’d love to take you to our favorite spot for this. Watching the sunset over the sea with no one around you… man, it’s special!
Looks like you guys do what we do. Check out the campground for the good sites. You guys think driving on the beach is cool and it is. We have camped on the beach at Cape Lookout which was awesome. You definitely want to air down your tires for driving on sand. It gives you better traction by making a bigger contact patch/area for your tires.
Thanks, Chad and Tara, for the AWESOME videos! Having been at Camp Hatteras Campground on the Sound Side when you were on the Beach Side. Would be great to see you there in May 2024 when we will be there with our camping group.
Our second camping trip after we bought our trailer in 2020 was to OBX (our first time visiting OBX) and we stayed at Camp Hatteras (just a few pots over from it looks like you were). We made a second trip in Dec 2020 and fell in love with it so much that we bought a house in Avon last year.
Wow how beautiful!!! Great video 😊 looks like a place that I would love to visit!! Thanks for taking us along on your journey!! I so loved the wild horses!!….. Lisa
Those laundry strips are great my wife uses them and puts another half like you do in there to get rid of any dirt, racing stripes or blood if I cut myself doing yard work and get on my clothes.
I love watching ya,ll.. I have been sick for a few yrs and just trying to get well.. we bought a 2022 beacon vanliegh and I want to go with my husband and explore the US when I get better.. watching ya,ll makes me want to go so bad.. your places are so pretty and love the music you play ! dasiy is a doll too... you are truly blessed to be able to do what you do.... have fun be safe and GOD bless you both !.
FWIW: I 'found' your channel by stumbling on your _Part 2_ video. I am originally from Florida, but moved to N.E. NC in the mid-1990s. I have been here ever since...👍
Looks like an amazing trip. We had gone to the Outer Banks about 7 years ago and did the drive to the 5 major light houses. It was great that you were able to capture the wild horses with the zoom and give them space. Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Watched your video from this week. My wife and I just happen to be here on the OBX. You two gave us a couple of ideas. For different things to do that we had not found yet. Thanks!
Enjoyed your video. We camped at Camp Hatteras last year and loved it. Loved the Wright Brothers Museum, Hatteras Light House, Mateo, and especially Duck and the fantastic Duck Donuts. We are heading back there in two weeks. Going to try the new RV Resort at Avon. Will definitely check out some of the places you covered. We get to live with the wild Ponies when we boondock in the dunes at Assateague Island State Park near Ocean City, Maryland.
We’ve stayed in 380 several times! Sound side is our favorite side of Camp Hatteras. We try to hit OBX once a year and yes, you are out there by yourself while camping.
❤ Oh…… M…….. Geeeee…..!!!!!!!!! This was an awesome video!!!! We have been checking out ALL the campgrounds that you guys visit in NC because we love that area and go there every year! We hope to have a 5th wheel soon and next year we will be enjoying our journey to Wilmington and the OBX!!!! Thank you for sharing your life on the road! We hope to meet you both someday!!! 😊🎉
Oh my we stayed at the same rv park we loved the OBX and yes the chowder was delicious. We took the whole East coast going down to Florida and our little furry girl love to run on the beach and chase the birds it was also amazing to see the horses, and yes Tara this was our favorite place also can’t wait to go back. We always enjoyed you guys videos, be safe and enjoy the journeys
I love watching your channel. My wife and I are planning on buying a motorhome ASAP and start traveling. We love to travel and we absolutely can't wait to get started. Safe travels to y'all and God bless
I've been going to the outer banks for 30+ years! My parents took me the first time when I was 3. Love Diamond Shoals restaurant, love the villages of Buxton and Frisco, and that campground at Rodanthe is confirmed awesome! Awesome video!
Great video! The wild horses were amazing! Looking forward to seeing more of the campground as we are looking for a good campground with beach access!! Safe travels! - Mike and Shelley

I'm a local, so it's interesting to see a tourist's point of view.
Our Oldest daughter was married on the beach on the north end of Duck. There was a store in Duck that had the absolute BEST seafood dip and my girls were there when they opened about 4 straight days to buy some seafood dip. We loved it there.

We spend at least a week at Cape Hatteras campground every year. OBX lots of fun.
Beautiful pictures of the horses Chad! Great job sharing with us! Daisy is still my favorite girl!

We love Camp Hatteras, can't wait to get back. We were there in late March 2023.
Beautiful. A lot of beautiful things to see, do and eat. Thanks for sharing with us
The fires were most likely from people burning up their motors because they were stuck…..great video…..as always
Love the Outer Banks! Have stayed at that campground. Didn’t know how Duck has changed. Thanks for hanging with the horses. Safe travels and thanks for sharing 😊

Camp Hatteras is such a wonderful campground, stayed their a few years back and had a great time! So much to explore and see.
Oh Chad! you need a secret pocket with camera cards to have with you for the camera! How funny you two are!
We will be staying at the KOA just down from there in August. Love the video, our happy place.
The KOA is right next door and looked like a nice place also! 👍🏼 Have fun!

Glad you enjoyed all outer banks. Our home was in corolla and beach access only. The horses would poop under our house.😅
LOL! The dark side of OBX. 😂🤣

Very lovely. Such a difference from Wyoming🤠❤️
I use those laundry sheet my self! I Love them as well❤ it really does cut down on waste and cleans just as good as name brand soap. 😊

The name of the town, Rodanthe, the E is not silent.
When did you get the one wheel? Please review in one of your videos!
Wow so cool great job
Starting at about 13:06 in this video...
At least you remembered to _remove the lens cap._ 😉
We really enjoyed this vlog! Our fam has been renting on OBX for 30 yrs. You captured the essence so well!!
I've been going to the outer banks for 30+ years! My parents took me the first time when I was 3. Love Diamond Shoals restaurant, love the villages of Buxton and Frisco, and that campground at Rodanthe is confirmed awesome! Awesome video!

When where you at camp hatteras? We were there week of July 9. Sorry we missed you. Great campground and beach.
We were just there last week! Great campground. We enjoyed it a lot.
Would love to see your stills of the horses!
Excellent video 👌
When I was drafted, one of my early duty stations was Fort Monmouth New Jersey. I got an apartment in Long Branch on the Atlantic. In the winter, my wife and I would love to go to the water front and watch the ocean come pounding in on the rocks during storms. We had a pristine white Pontiac Catalina that turned into a bucket of rust by the time winter was over. We learned the hard way, do not let the salt from any source sit on your vehicle. Find a car wash immediately and desalinate, top, bottom, under the hood, everywhere!!!
The horses were the best !!!!
Beautiful sunset and the beach drive with wild horse's was fun and an experience. Thanks for sharing
Also you were looking for a restaurant. I recommend the sunset grill. Same company as at the base of the 7 mile bridge in the keys. Awesome food and drink and dessert. Be prepared to break out the $$$ it's part of the boardwalk you were on.
Beautiful.
Love the horses 🐎😍❤
Thanks for sharing 😊
We just got back from Camp Hatteras last week. That is a haul to drive up all the way to Carova!
Wow
So Awesome 😊
We have had site 380. We kayaked the sound side. Dropped them in right behind the rig.
Looks like a great spot!
Great video!
We got to camp hattaras every year we absolutely love it there , but we have not seen any wild horses yet 😞 but I’m happy that you guys got to see them can’t wait to see your next video
Austin's seafood company in Nags Head is THE place for fresh seafood.
