I’m glad your are putting the model numbers in on more videos. The more you do that the more you’ll find your audience and grow your channel I think. Thanks so much for all the excellent information! I really enjoy just sitting back and watching you do your thing. It’s really relaxing. And if I ever need a how-to video for any of my cordless tools (Makita), I know you’ll be there for me with a repair video. Cheers from Canada.
Brushless will allow higher current before frying and will work longer. If you put brushed one through same, youll kill the motor and it wont be worth fixing. Apart from my Makita orbital sander and their 14.4/18V and AC Fan, all their tools are brushless both from LXT and XGT. I dont even think Makita make brushed XGT tools.
I asked the same thing to dean over a year ago and ended up buying a brushless grinder. The amount of abuse I put it through made it worth it, I mostly use it to cut tiles and concrete, a brushed machine simply wouldnt have the power and would drain my batteries too fast.
Brushless is better in some ways, for example if you live in a 3 world country you can’t get brushes from amazon or ebay, so brushless removes you that worry
@@michaelfairchild yes but when the brushes run out, its hard to get them if you’re in a chird world country where there’s not ebay or amazon, so with brushless you dont have that problem for cordless tools
Remember that they are non-standard ones along with the driver, so you wont be able to use normal 1/4 bits or adapters. That set is their System 6 (6mm), standard 1/4 bits are 6.15mm.
I think we owe a big thank you for all the info you shared. I am deciding which cordless tool brand to choose. Milwaukee M18 vs makita 18V vs makita 40V. From the info you have shared i will avoid milwaukee, i am mostly leaning toward to makita 40V. Is it as reliable and as repair friendly as the 18V makita line? I have the best exprerience with corded makita tools, but some say that it is not as it used to be reliability vise. Anyone have any experience with 18 against 40V makita tools? Tanks for all replies and info. :)
Are the new makita 18v tool just as repairable as the older tools? Have Milwaukee kit am wanting to change over to makita is it worth it? Or are they similar with the newer tools?
Is it really a DGA 452 model or a BGA 452 model? I have such a grinder and you can see the inscription BGA 452 18V on it. Is it a different model or the same?
In a Hikoki 36v cordless grinder, is it possible to change the bearing in the head? The gear has a circlip retaining it, can the gear be pressed back on/off without damaging it? I replaced the bearing on the shaft but now the head is noisy.
Its possibly Wiha 00623 set. Be aware that Wiha use non-standard bits for some of their set or torque driver. This set use 6mm bits, while standard 1/4 is around 6.15mm. For torque drivers they use even 4mm bits.

Agree 100% using model numbers (Makita with the world and US #) is a great development.
looks like its done a fair bit of work in the past , now it can do some more in the future . Well done once again.
Dean, don't get nervous but we're watching every single move you make...🤣
He already did edit at 1:00 mark.
Don't people realize that just cleaning and looking after tools takes a couple of minutes a day. They might last longer.
Damn, I wish I could lose half my body weight while getting blown.
Great video Dean, *Thank You!*
That's her!
Amazing how many 5" grinders are mistakenly used as 9" grinders
That's what is still good about brushed tools. They can actaully be repaired verses brushless is all electronics that cost too much to replace

I hope I remember when I get some more money to get one of those Miha screwdriver kits you use. Those are the kind. 👍

Did he stored that grinder in the bag of sand for the cats litterbox?
- Hi Dean !
- What viscosity specifications of grease by nlgi ratings, should we use for an angle grinder tool ?
- Regards and respect
What exactly was the issue with the grinder other than it needing some maintenance?
Common problem whit them brusshes overheated and stuck in holder( and caps melted) so you change holder , brusshes and caps(some cleaning also)
So satisfying

I can't see why not.
Open it and see, I'd your handy
Do you you have a bearing press or a BIG vise?
@@bladeoflucatiel Yeah I have both. I have a micro bearing puller, a Sykes Pickavant one.

That is a good way to clean them, and so little grease in the right place.
No talkie, no watchie 😊
Ready to go!
Very aggressive video, you in a mood
Possibly Friday, end of the day, you want to be done with fixing tools, but also give some short content for YT.
Agreed, this guy throws tantrums off camera.
whats that screw driver set your using
Its possibly Wiha 00623 set.
Ello nooo otro
Easy. You ain't specialist. You are not even familiar with yer components. It's not even a repair. It's a replacement.😅
Title says 'Brushless'. |-)
No it doesn’t. Look closely
