To be honest the previous generation from all nations are fare more stronger than the currents these days: F2F, CaiYun, LinDan, LCW, PT Gade, Endo...

Sukamuljo/Gideon is overrated pair. Even old school veteran Tan Boon Heong laugh at their smashes. It is just in the era of this Sukamuljo, TBH/KKK is a veteran pair and played just for fun. No motivation to chase anything anymore at that time.

Its 2021. In 2017/2018 no one even close to them. I told you something, smash not only stuff that get you titles. In the modern era you need more fast footwork, more ability to drive the shuttle, more consistency to play at the highest level. Thats why they keep the world #1 for 5 consecutive years. For me, they are the greatest mens double of all time.

It bring result. Even Tan Boon Heong list to them. Why laugh at their smashes when they are the winners.

Rant as much as you want, cause their "overrated-ness" Actually won them 30+ titles together, cry them a river, boomer.

@@tonnyfathona8387everything I'm about to say is only for factual offerings. I respect your view and the fact that you're a fan of the minions. But... lol it's been almost a decade that we didn't have any good pairs to contest them. When FHF retired back then.... that marked the end of the Golden Era. Every pair from before then has defense and counter attacks much stronger than watanabe/endo and look how bad the minions play vs them.
Kevin/Marcus are by far the best team in their era, there's no disputing that. But you forgot that their era wasn't as competitive as back when all the great players were competing at the same time
LYD/JJS/YYS, CY/FHF, KKK/TBH, ahsan/setiawan, and many more. There were at least 8 top teams that compete at the same skill level. Every quarter finals you'd have no idea who would play the finals. It was an incredibly exciting period to be watching badminton
If you watch finals between LYD/JJS or YYS vs CY/FHF... there's no chance that Kevin/Marcus would have dominated the way they were doing. They'll be in the top10 no doubt about that... but they wouldn't have been in the top3.
