He’s not doing anything morally or legally wrong. Its always the people that want to be themselves that gets the most criticism, so if you don’t like him don’t watch him. FYI a lot of sportsmen and women are proud AF. They like to think they are tops shit. At end of the day they say a few thing their fans want to hear in front of the camera and that’s that. You like watching people hide themselves go watch people that are good at faking.
Comedic. Sport is entertainment. Racket sports need to have more variety of players. It can’t all be technical. Most of the money going into the sport is from amateur players so if professional players entertain the fans a little it’s fine. Even the commentators perk up the commentary.

He's neither. He behaved that way mostly due to his young age and past immaturity. He's been playing great badminton without (many) antics for the past year or so which is really great to see. Indonesian fans should be proud to have such talented young players representing their countries. However, they should also stop making excuses for this poor behaviour. He doesn't need to play psy games to win points so that excuse is moot. The japanese players never, ever, provoke him yet he still swing miss and taunts... he does so because of his ego. But like i said... he's been giving us some great badminton lately mostly without any on court antics so it's really great to see
Why is it such a big deal for everyone if some one is being a bit dramatic or shows such antics during the game. The umpire is fine with it, opponents are, there are no rules in BWF to say these are unacceptable. Just the audience always find it offensive. He brings his own flair into a game and people love to see that. Oherwise badminton just plain normal to watch. He does it and he is so skillful that he can pull off these actions. I think may love watching badminton just because of him.
@@nevr9199 there are rules against misconduct and unsportsmanlike actions. These rules doesn't have a defined parameters, therefore it is up to the umpire to enforce it. I understand that his flair is fun to watch. But there is a fine line between flair and misconduct. Case in point when he received the yellow flag at the world championship. If it was any other player acting this way... im quite convinced you won't feel the same about it

Hey all, for Kevin playing badminton is not a hobby! He does this for money. He'd rather win tournaments and deposits his money to the bank than winning Olympic medal. He is rich now, if he is lucky, he may win the Olympic and retire. But, he may not be lucky enough to win an Olympic medal. It is fair, no Olympic medal but a lot of money, or like other players won Olympic with less money. Apparently, he does not care what other think of him. As a matter of fact, there are many people who like to watch his crazy acts. He is not like Lin Dan. Lin Dan is malicious and cunning.
