Highly recommend the Tivoli Hotels (Carveiro, with the beautiful beach, and Vilamoura, with the gorgeous Marina on one side and a beautiful beach on the other). Also recommend you visit Lagos.

We arrived in Albufeira 6 days ago staying at Luna Solaqua aparthotel and as yet, have just visited Old and New Town getting our bearings. We are here until the end of March so this video was so helpful in guiding us to other areas to visit. We are looking into renting a car for maybe a week but would also like to figure out how to use public transportation. Thank you for your very helpful and informative videos. And yes, on your recommendation, we have NordVPN but unfortunately, our fire-stick does not work in our unit.
We are watching your video from our hotel room in Albufeira. Everything you told us about here was right on , but still have to buy a spatula😅 ! I wouldn't say it's not the easiest place to walk around though, especially if you use a walker, as my wife does. Sidewalks are often broken or non existent, with no ramps at corners, could use some upgrading. Loved Pingo Doce. Keep expecting to run into you both ! Thanks for the great info.

My wife is from Loule. You were standing in front of our bank. My father in law lives just down the road as well as my wife's aunt's place is just down the other way on the Avenida. Loule is also know for its weekly market.

My wife and I have been following you guys for a year or so and enjoying your insight and advice very much. So much so that we have found ourselves in Carvoeiro Portugal this winter. We are enjoying our 2 months here immensely. We had been wintering in Florida but the politics, guns and general craziness drove us away. Portugal is everything we need. Sad to go home next week.

Yes, we stopped going to the US for exactly those reasons, and there is no comparison with beautiful Portugal. We stayed in Carveiro last year in Monte Dourado, but we found the hills just too much.
Your vacation just makes you both glow, and all the walking appears to agree with you as well. You two are looking slim, fit, and happy. I'm in my 3rd month of retirement and loving it. We are heading to Iceland in October. Any tips?

Hi, We really enjoy your blogs, we watch all of them, especially when you are in Portugal. We also love the Algarve, we always hire a car so we can visit all the resorts and the out of the way places like Alte and Monchique etc. We live in Keighley, where it's cold and wet !!!!!. We are coming to Albufiera tomorrow, we are staying at the Brisa Sol hotel for 4 weeks, we think you are at the Luna Solaqua again which is found the corner from us, we may even see you both while we are there. We will say hello if we see you. The weather looks good there, it will be nice to get away for a while. We agree with all the town's you mentioned, it's a lovely place. Nice to watch you again. Hi guys currently in Tavira at Residential Mares . We arrived Saturday while the Tour Algarve bike race was on. Spent an hour trying to get to hotel. Road was blocked off due to race. Was a frustrating hour driving and not able to get to hotel even though we knew exactly where it was ! Finally parked beside bus station. Free parking! !One thing people should know about Tavira is parking can be a nightmare! It didn't help that it was market day as well. 800m walk to hotel from bus station but we've ended up parking there for the duration of stay. So if you're arriving by car do your parking research.Off to Loule for the day.Looks like a wet one today.

Great to see your videos and that you're enjoying Portugal. I just wonder.....your pronunciation of town names and other everyday words.....yikes....hope that by your next visit you'll have mastered some essential Portuguese, especially the ão sound which has a nasal n sound and the ç with a cedilla which is not pronounced as a k but as an s. Enjoy your last days and have a safe journey home back to your loved ones.

Trains are cheap and half price if you’re over 65, some are very old fashioned but clean and they run on time.

Hi there...Anne from Kincardine here....We are in Lagos at the minute, for six weeks. We are in a beautiful T2 apartment at Lagos marina, and can walk everywhere. Pingo Doce is a few minutes' walk, so we have been enjoying cooking in, but going out sometimes...It is a cloudy, windy day today... We flew into Faro, but have to fly out of Lisbon, taking the train to Lisbon perhaps the day before...hope we can find a hotel near the airport....but I'm sure it is all doable. We plan on doing some train and bus trips in and out of Lagos...We didn't rent a car this time and find it much more relaxing...We love Portugal and the people are some of the kindest you could ever meet. I enjoy your videos and all your information....safe travels..

Hi Anne we feel the same didnt rent a car 🚗 and it is a lot more relaxing, we got the seniors bus pass in Albufeira for a month but have done 4 trips on the Vamus buses 🚌 which we have loved going for day outs. Have a wonderful stay in Lagos Cheers 🇨🇦🍷🍻🇵🇹

We took the train from Lagos to Lisbon and stayed at the B&B HOTEL Lisboa Aeroporto for our morning flight the next day. It is a short Uber ride from the hotel to the airport. Enjoy the rest of your time in Lagos.
I like Lagos. My wife is from Loule. We live in Canada but retiring soon. We are considering making Lagos marina our home. We have plans on sailing our 40 ft boat across the pond and making Lagos Marina home.

Favourite seaside hotels or places to stay in the Algarve for a month?
We were in Portugal a few years ago, we started in Porto and made our way down to the Algarve with several stops in between. We really enjoyed Lagos and in particular the small village of Salema where we spent several days hanging out at the secluded beach there. Lots to see that's for sure.

We had the best tapas lunch in Praia Da Luz on the way the forte at Sagres. Beautiful sunny day on the beach prominade. There's an interesting rock formation on the beach
Just wondering what credit card gives you health insurance for 30 days at a time ? Can't seem to find one that doesn't need 100's of thousands of income when over 65 years of age.

Hi Tina and Norm, we’re currently staying in Alvor and can confirm the €1 beer is still available. Also we visited Armação de Pera and discovered the Holiday Inn is closed for refurbishment. Much overdue as we stayed there a couple of years ago and the bathrooms were past their best. Love watching your videos. Enjoy your last few days 👍
The Holiday Inn may be permanently closed, and/or have new owners.
The place was really old and rundown.
