@@BenAlagna Thanks for the response. Do you think the Acaia is worth the higher price point? On the white Acaia do you have issue seeing the LCD display?
@@ChadRex1 I’ve never regretted paying a premium for the scale. I absolutely love it and have used it for about 5 years. The numbers are also easy to see and I have my scale on a table by 2 windows.
Thank you! The stand I built myself with an olive wood board from Target. The coffee server (which is what I think you are talking about when you said beaker) is a Hario 02 coffee server with an olive wood handle from Japan. I don't have a specific link but you can probably find it easily with a Google search.
Hehe you didn't wash your server before you made another coffee haha. I'm guilty of that as well lol. I just usually rinse it with water and not wash with soap.
Sam Wise I cut a hole slightly larger than the scale through the entire piece of wood. I then glued a cork sheet to a separate piece of dark stained plywood. After it dried, I glued it to the underside of the olive wood base. You can find several pictures of this on my Instagram feed @BenAlagna
Thanks for watching Michael! And so happy you like the stand. I'm currently not making any more of these, but I may produce a video tutorial on how to build one since so many people like it. It was pretty easy to make.
This what I call a 'Coffee Ceremony'
Very nice setup, what grinder are you using?
this setup is so beautiful and should work great for brewing.
Ben beautiful stand. You selling these? Or have plans and list of materials you used to create this?
If you are still looking, I will be making these to sell. Feel free to DM on instagram: @poebuilt
So cool. So classy. Love it.
Would love to buy one of these. Nice work.
Thanks! Glad you like it! I guess I should start making more and selling them.
YES!!!! Absolutely amazing!!
I’d be interested in buying one too!
I would happily pay you to make me one of these stands !
wish i could purchase the stand!!! well-made!!!!!
What are the dimensions of the 'scale hole'? Also, which is the 'free app'? The app seems neat; you thought of everything!
Great Video review, would you mind sharing how you cut out the wood on the cutting board? did you use a router or multi tool?
Very nice scale stand.
Thanks! I used a jig saw and cut out a hole, then added a piece of plywood underneath.

Thank you for your recommend ,my boyfriend and me love this❤️
that one star though :P
Damn, that's a fine cup of joe' boy.
Looks very nice - good work. I feel like I would get water trapped in the cutout though...
Hey, where did you get the wood itself? I want to make something like this for my home.
It's an olivewood cutting board I bought at Target.
I love the olive wood pour over stand & scale you've made, Sir. So well made and beautiful! :)
Thank you!!
@@BenAlagna You're welcome Ben! :)
What manual grinder was used in this clip and which would you recommend? Thanks
Josh Montes the grinder is from a company “Made by Knock”. It’s been rock solid for years!
Ben Alagna you sold me on the acaia, so I’ll take your word for it and get this grinder as well. Thank you!
Josh Montes yeah the acaia is is great! I guarantee you love the knock grinders too!
is there a pre loaded pouring setting when u purchase the acaia???
Yes, but I have since adjusted the pour times to taste based on my own experimenting. The app is very flexible and easy to use!
What kind of battery in the scale? Is it rechargeable?
Becky Flow it’s rechargeable
That stand is hype. Where did you get it?

Beautiful setup ! What is the hand grinder you are using ? Cheers.
Thanks! It is a Knock Feldgrind grinder.
Love the beaker and stand you have. Any links?

How did you cut out the section for the scale? How is the cork mounted?

Nice! thanks!
Would love to purchase one of these if you're up for making one. Thanks for the instructions too!

That would be very cool! Cheers!
Yes, please do! Such a wonderful project. You really are a master!
Thanks Bobbi!
Good looking stand brother!
I can't find this for sale. Guess it's come and gone...
What’s this app?
Acaia coffee scale app
Love the kettle, where is it from?
It's a Stagg Black Matte Kettle
It seems like it's too much water 🤔
Do you sell that stand?
Unfortunately, right now I do not. Glad you like it though!
Ben I’ll add a second request for that stand should you ever decide to build and sell them!
I also would love to have one!
Maybe i'll sell them if I get enough people interested.
Ben Alagna I am also interested in buying one. Let me know if you start selling on Etsy.
Too much chemistry for a cup of coffee lol
You're doing way too much...
All this time wasted weighing, timing, adding..... I would have finished my coffee already.
Gadgets like these are so unecessary, just get a regular digital scale
It is a regular digital scale :)
