I came three years into the past to tell you that the reason he always had a new face was because they never developed the technology to give Desmond and Altiar/Ezio separate face models until AC3. Which is why he looks exactly like Ezio in all of his games.

They were raising a pig for slaughter, so to speak. He's also told me that, his story doesn't necessarily end there. We know a great deal of his father, but nothing of his mother, or his son. Not to mention remember clay? The grey? Eve? Etc... there's much still to be discovered.

A lot of people say Ezio was the best, Altair was the best, Conner, Edward, so on, so forth, but in reality, Desmond was the best, he had all the memories, all the skills of the 3 great Assassin's, Altair, Ezio, and Conner, what ever skill set they had, Conner had, that is why, he's the best.

I never hated Desmond, I always enjoyed his storyline. Once he was killed off and the Ezio trilogy ended, the game and the franchise went down hill from there.
+MS&DC Universe rogue and syndicate were the only good ones after, but the first three (ac1 to revelations) were the knee that actually captures what the assassins creed meant.
It may not have been the biggest part of the game. But Desmond and the events in the "real life" time event was a big deal to me. Granted we played for the assassins part, but watching Desmond and his gang help try to save the world and fight the Templars was amazing. NOw its just some bs "we hacked your machine, plz join us"

I think the Desmond character had great potential, but Ubisoft wasted everything while trying to squeeze out an Assassins Creed every year. If given more time his story could be as compelling and deep as the others
I like how Ubisoft had a plan of keeping Desmond till the end, but after the original AC creator got fired, Ubisoft became Ubi$oft, killed Desmond at AC3 and then left us with those poorly written characters and deleted the Creed itself
I keep hoping Desmond will return one day, that by some means, the Shroud will be used to revive him and he can return with some kind of knowledge or wisdom from the other side or from the device Juno had him use. Still, he was mentally broken from everything he had seen I the animus and especially from killing Lucy, even after what he learned. Maybe he secretly wanted peace. Maybe it's better for him to have left behind the pain of everything he had seen and done, everything his ancestors had seen and done mounting on him. Maybe he really is in a better place.
Juno did say in Unity in the files that Desmond and Clay were happy in the gray. It's confirmed that Desmond is dead but alive (consciousness). But I sort of don't buy what Juno said though. She's a liar and a manipulator. But, I really do hope Desmond is in peace.

Now we don’t know if Desmond is exactly with Subject 16, but this and what you said adds up to the possibility of Desmond being alive in the animus.

If you play AC4, complete all the computer hacking in present-day and you will have in total 4 audio messages from Desmond to his dad. All of them are awesome this one is so emotional and it's his final message. Desmond was a true hero.

I loved in the brotherhood, where they are entering the villa for the first time, and Desmond is literally loosing his mind from being in the chair for too long, mixing Ezio with him self saying stuff like: 'I REMEMBER THIS PLACE, I WAS HERE BEFORE' where he needed to be reminded that it wasn't HIM it was EZIO! and how uncomfortable it made him feel... small little things... I was hoping so much for him in AC3... but sadly, he is no more... and now we are some useless tablet carrier with no name and skill... I havent even played the last 2 games (origin and Odyssey)... shame what happened with the franchise... So long Desmond... Ezio Auditore, he make Desmond just a peace, the people like Ezio, because you cannot exit of the animus and talk with the people, so, Desmond is not anymore the protagonist, now Desmond is a complete assassin, he tested his parkour skills in Manhattan, learned to hide among people, and faced an entire order of Templars, it was Ezio, the chance to try to put Desmond back in the story, putting the option to quit animus, FAILED

The franchise always ended for me with 3, Desmond was the backbone of the story, without him its just a bunch of nothing, It may as well actually be set in those times, don't bother with the modern day 'sequences'.
Congratulations you whiners, you got what you wanted. Now instead of having a purpose, having a story and drive to do something, we're now a nameless nobody hipster walking around with an Ipad collecting sticky notes. Oh man that's so much better than going back to Ezio's Villa in modern times! Literally anything is better than what we have now, yes even AC1, and Desmond could only walk around a small room then. His story wasn't even bad and neither was he. He was a sorta anti social outcast who hadn't found his purpose in life. Each game we found out more about him, the Templars and the Assassin's. He opened up more, we got more gameplay and it was a nice change of pace to the ancestor portions. There was a drive and a purpose with him and now that's gone. Who gives a shit about Juno? That's going nowhere fast. But no, I'm so glad instead of making his sections better, they killed him off so we can run around in first person as a nobody literally doing nothing! Subject 16's bloody room in AC1 was more exciting. Turning on the fucking power to Monteriggioni in Brotherhood was more exciting lol. It's just really fucking dumb. So much potential thrown away so they could pander to nonfans.
I rather liked ac4's modern day sequences, it felt more realistic to what a model day assassin would be doing such as infiltration and espionage. What I take issue with is that you can't even play modern day stuff in unity or syndicate.
They said they want to focus more on Modern day in the newer games, so hopefully that means, making a good character who isn't a walking Ipad that never talks

For the past 3 games , i didn't really care about Desmond's story . But when i watch this video , i started to understand his feelings and the importance of him in the game . I'm very disappointed that ubishit killed him and replace him with this first person character that we don't know shit about . What will happened in the next series ? Isn't Eve's DNA is the only thing that can stop Juno ? Man , there's a lot of unexplained things that we want to know . I feel really angry about Desmond's death .

This doesn't just relate to game's story, but to life itself. I actually found a deeper meaning through Desmond's words. It actually helps me understand the real problems I'm dealing with now.

Lol no, they changed his face. He by no means looked more high def. ACR graphics were identical to ac2 and acb. And AC3 graphics looked worse in some parts.

The Architect in Assassin Creed Syndicate's database there should be a audio play that talks about a boy that has the same ancestors, meaning that he could be Desmond's son
Being AC2 was my first AC game, and going from there, it was hard to not cry like a baby when Ezio was leaving, and then parts of AC3 with Connor and Atilles made me shed a tear. I was so confused and saddened when Desmond..Whatevered. Let me put it this way, I have watched all the tribute videos here, and all of them were great. This one is a definant favorite, and it did make me cry, and I'm not afraid to say that. If they had this in the end credits, I would of had to leave the room. People always hated Desmond, and said he was stupid, and he was never my favorite character. But after AC3, it's just not the same anymore. Mostly because of the story plot and that, but there's a big whole missing that is Desmond.
I did see it! The music..Ugh..Them feels.. I'm not really into cartoon kind of stuff, but that was really cool. And when the music started playing, I knew it was coming. ;_;

Abstergo can say anything that they "confirmed" that Desmond is dead, but after Clay (Subject 16) touched Desmond in the Animus, Desmond's hand was glowing blue, even when he woke up from the Animus in ACR. Not to mention that he touched that panel in AC3 with the SAME hand.(which glowed again that time). So I am not sure if he is dead. We followed Desmond's story through 6 Games, why kill him Now?
As far as I remember, Demond's hand only glow when he finally wakes up. But you may be right, since Clay told Desmond his wishes of getting out of the Animus with Subject 17 and later telling him he was saving Desmond's life. And I'd add that maybe we're going to find Desmond (or something related) through Aiden Pearce's story. Can i hear an amen? xP

I loved in the brotherhood, where they are entering the villa for the first time, and Desmond is literally loosing his mind from being in the chair for too long, mixing Ezio with him self saying stuff like: 'I REMEMBER THIS PLACE, I WAS HERE BEFORE' where he needed to be reminded that it wasn't HIM it was EZIO! and how uncomfortable it made him feel... small little things... I was hoping so much for him in AC3... but sadly, he is no more... and now we are some useless tablet carrier with no name and skill... I havent even played the last 2 games (origin and Odyssey)... shame what happened with the franchise... So long Desmond... I will always remember him fondly... and if so happen apple of eden will manage to bring him back... well... it will be the first copy of AC since AC3 I will pre-order!

Ezio Auditore, he make Desmond just a peace, the people like Ezio, because you cannot exit of the animus and talk with the people, so, Desmond is not anymore the protagonist, now Desmond is a complete assassin, he tested his parkour skills in Manhattan, learned to hide among people, and faced an entire order of Templars, it was Ezio, the chance to try to put Desmond back in the story, putting the option to quit animus, FAILED
Man, why'd Ubisoft have to kill of Desmond? Sure, he could be kinda whiny sometimes but I think everyone would be if they had to go through what he did. Sad.

The franchise always ended for me with 3, Desmond was the backbone of the story, without him its just a bunch of nothing, It may as well actually be set in those times, don't bother with the modern day 'sequences'.

Literally anything is better than what we have now, yes even AC1, and Desmond could only walk around a small room then. His story wasn't even bad and neither was he. He was a sorta anti social outcast who hadn't found his purpose in life. Each game we found out more about him, the Templars and the Assassin's. He opened up more, we got more gameplay and it was a nice change of pace to the ancestor portions.
There was a drive and a purpose with him and now that's gone. Who gives a shit about Juno? That's going nowhere fast. But no, I'm so glad instead of making his sections better, they killed him off so we can run around in first person as a nobody literally doing nothing!
Subject 16's bloody room in AC1 was more exciting. Turning on the fucking power to Monteriggioni in Brotherhood was more exciting lol. It's just really fucking dumb. So much potential thrown away so they could pander to nonfans.

I rather liked ac4's modern day sequences, it felt more realistic to what a model day assassin would be doing such as infiltration and espionage. What I take issue with is that you can't even play modern day stuff in unity or syndicate.

For the past 3 games , i didn't really care about Desmond's story . But when i watch this video , i started to understand his feelings and the importance of him in the game . I'm very disappointed that ubishit killed him and replace him with this first person character that we don't know shit about . What will happened in the next series ? Isn't Eve's DNA is the only thing that can stop Juno ? Man , there's a lot of unexplained things that we want to know . I feel really angry about Desmond's death .

Lol no, they changed his face. He by no means looked more high def. ACR graphics were identical to ac2 and acb. And AC3 graphics looked worse in some parts.

Being AC2 was my first AC game, and going from there, it was hard to not cry like a baby when Ezio was leaving, and then parts of AC3 with Connor and Atilles made me shed a tear. I was so confused and saddened when Desmond..Whatevered.
Let me put it this way, I have watched all the tribute videos here, and all of them were great. This one is a definant favorite, and it did make me cry, and I'm not afraid to say that. If they had this in the end credits, I would of had to leave the room. People always hated Desmond, and said he was stupid, and he was never my favorite character. But after AC3, it's just not the same anymore. Mostly because of the story plot and that, but there's a big whole missing that is Desmond.

Abstergo can say anything that they "confirmed" that Desmond is dead, but after Clay (Subject 16) touched Desmond in the Animus, Desmond's hand was glowing blue, even when he woke up from the Animus in ACR. Not to mention that he touched that panel in AC3 with the SAME hand.(which glowed again that time).
So I am not sure if he is dead. We followed Desmond's story through 6 Games, why kill him Now?

As far as I remember, Demond's hand only glow when he finally wakes up. But you may be right, since Clay told Desmond his wishes of getting out of the Animus with Subject 17 and later telling him he was saving Desmond's life. And I'd add that maybe we're going to find Desmond (or something related) through Aiden Pearce's story. Can i hear an amen? xP
now you got me thinking about Clay wanting to get out of the Animus. What if Aiden Pearce is Clay :D ? After all, Clay was said to be an engineer , there can be a connection (next to the "ctOS network thing" mentioned in AC4) lol

Since AC4 mentioned ctOS, I'd bet Watch Dogs opens the door to show a "present day" AC. And this glowing arm mistery opens up a precedent to Desmond be alive. And now we'll need to buy all these games to keep up with the story. Damn you, ubisoft.
