    Is Roy the guy who reviewed the 370Z and said "there's a new place for your shopping to hit you from?" I loved that review.

    I like the video and driver.
    The only torque I understand is when I apply too much downforce on an icy walkway and I fall on my face.

      GT4 gearing is too long, but so are ALL Caymans. GT4 is just the first time the journalists liked the car enough to complain, and buyers had enough money to get regear kits made. When the first Cayman S was new, some noticed that the only reason it didn't match a 911 Carrera in 0-60 was the unusually long 2nd gear. Most just observed that you had to rev the Cayman high to get good power. With short gearing (eg Miata, Elise, any VTEC Honda) that's called fun. But in Boxsters and Caymans where 2nd gear breaks almost any speed limit, all you can do it stick it in 2nd and think about V8s while it lugs up from 4,000.

      Dorian W. sure, here i go: "HP and torque are 2 very different things" not really Jason, they're only slightly different, in fact they are related by a mathematical formula, if you know one and the RPM, then you know the other. Skipping constants, torque x RPM = HP. More details here: /watch?v=fgLNO3ThGD4 (very nice channel there btw) "HP is the ability to maintain a high speed" No Jason, because HP is the only thing you need to accelerate, and not much of it is needed to maintain high speed, obviously. Wow that was dumb, Jason, very dumb. "Torque is the ability to get to high speed" In other words, he's saying torque is what makes the acceleration. Wrong, very wrong Jason, because HP is what makes the acceleration, as already said. A diesel (or electric) has tons of torque down low rpm but cant accelerate much because that torque drops significantly when you reach higher rpm, while a v-tech (or F1) engine has relatively low torque but revs much higher, so the HP output is excellent. If one would make an engine with 2 lb-ft of torque but revs billions of rpm, it would tear your face. Jason prefers torquy engines, i do too, we at least agree on that, and porsches are not torquy (except for turbos). I hope that clears up! I still like you Jason.

      Max Salvail HP = top speed, TQ=How fast you achieve top speed.

    • @maxsalvail3397
      @maxsalvail3397 9 лет назад +1

      LastWonderland no. high HP = high acceleration, high TQ =/= high acceleration

      Max Salvail
      Just shh, torque if how fast you achieve max power in a gear and hp is how much power you can achieve in a gear(as I said top speed) your statement is bullshit, have a nice day.

    They had to be the most cringe inducing examples of “how physics works” that I’ve ever had to watch. It’s terrible humour and so over simplified that, as a car guy, it just pisses me off....
