- Type O Negative: October Rust
- My Dying Bride: Turn Loose the Swans
- Opeth: My Arms Your Hearse (I would say Damnation but is that even a metal album?)
- Tiamat: Wild Honey
- Woods of Ypres: Woods 5: Grey Skies and Electric Light

My Arms Your Hearse is also my go to, I even revert back to my love of older Goth/Doom e.g. Tristania - Beyond The Veil and Theater of Tragedy- Velvet Darkness They Fear. Other Fall Spins- Morgion- Cloaked by ages , Crowned in Earth. Newer additions: Swallow The Sun- Songs from the North lll and the new Lord of Shadows - Echoes of Yore (2023) ... Fires in the Distance is a must band, insane talent with a big future.... Peace all!

I just listened to the band's 'Air Not Meant For Us' album. OMG, it's awesome! The synth (made to sound like piano) adds both a beauty and melancholy that makes the sound all that much richer. Also a great listen as the days grow shorter and the weather turns cooler just before another winter. I'm definitely checking out their other albums. I hope the band blows up. Cheers.

I was introduced to Fires In The Distance from your "best of April" video and immediately fell in love. Their newest album is definitely a top fave from this year. Because of this, when they announced their tour, I HAD to see them! Luckily, I live in Chicago where they just slayed. Got a chance to chat with Craig and Kristian at a couple times in the evening and they were both just really kind/sweet individuals. Chicago certainly loved them. Can't wait for them to return!!

Excellent interview! So happy for FITD's success with this album, it is far and away my album of the year. Also, October Rust is a masterpiece beyond masterpieces.
And Prometheus is insanely underrated! The pure musical expression of controlled chaos.

Thanks for delivering these great interviews. FITD... wow, must have been a killer show! I'm going to have to give Air not Meant for Us a deeper listen, I think they have a new fan. (After revisiting Obsidian Tongue last week, Vol 3 is a total gem. For some reason I enjoyed the tunes even more this time around).

I remember when their first album released i was playing that album nonstop. Their melancholic atmosphere and sound is unique. Im amazed he's into Tuomas saukkonen's work

@@forgemastermetal I'm new to your channel as a sub, but I've been watching the channel for about half year now. From what I've seen is that you guys like the rapture band from Finland which is one of my favorite alongside daylight dies and amongst other in the melodic death doom genre. Have you guys ever heard the band (counting hours) its also a finnish deathdoom band with some members of rapture. If not then can you guys please review it, Cause it kind of released unnoticed.
