I do appreciate your vids and effort, but I think there are some things off with your SW2. It should have been much faster than 44 when stock, your water must have limited you. I got 55 all stock on big water after tuning the trim tabs and turn fins properly. I have also ran M445, X642, Proboatv1.6 x 1.7 and several others and never had a cutoff, maybe your stock esc was bad. I love the idea of adding the X8s, recording and reading data logging looks like fun to me! Keep it up love all your vids and thanks for taking the time to do these.
That's crazy to pick up another 7 mph just changing the esc. Once u get done upgrading the power system u should start tuning the boat itself, adjusting trim tabs, balancing and sharpening different props, etc. Ironclad RC's channel has alot of great videos on that stuff. Great video dude, keep'em comin!
I know you're doing this based on modifications, but there should be an entire level dedicated to tuning the strut and trim tabs. Having the trim tabs down just slightly can scrub over 5 mph. Just watching you do some laps. Your boat is running way too wet for a mono to be quick Stock prop with stock ESC, I ran 52 mph similar flatwater with a 6s pack. Over the weekend first time on the water after waiting for the ice to melt I ran 64 with an upgraded prop in the stock ESC still. These boats don't run quick wet. I've found best battery for weight and perf 6000 mah.
An aftermarket balanced, thinned, and sharpened prop while also sharpening your rudder into a true knife edge and the turn fins will give you another 4 to 8 mph top speed. The stock prop sucks and the rudder and turn fins are dull stock. You want them knife-sharp. You also want to get rid of the flat triangular bottom of the rudder and sharpen it so that it doesn't create lift on the transom as the boat rides too wet stock. You can get sharpened, balanced and thinned props from Offshore Electrics online store.
Awesome video I've always loved your channel and the way you properly do stuff but now your building the same boat i have had for a couple of year's since it launched honestly i can not be happier!! My V2 is stock besides the 4519 prop. The stock prop is a big pos the amp draw would be less with a 4519 I know this because my stock esc never cutt out again when I put on the 4519 prop. When my esc does let go I'm not getting the spectrum 160 if this thing is pulling 150 constant no wonder why people blow there 160 amp esc all the time. Great info 👍
You should consider a pump on the cooling system 🙂 I have tried similar with the cut out. I did a little turbo hack instead by adding a rely around the esc. So, with a push of a button, the battery was directly connected to the motor 😁
At 50+ mph that pump is restricting your cooling system a pump is good during low speeds or when stopped unless it's a massive pump that will just ad weight and with this esc there is no cooling issue it's the wiring and soldier connections that are the problem.
@t5king850r like your experiments 👍 I just thought I heard you say you couldn't hold your fingers on the engine and thought about my (slower) boat. I must have mixed up some info in your different videos 🙂 sorry. About the weight... have you thought about running some lighter batteries? 🙂
I guessed it right the other day. Thing is the 160 Firma is great for the Sonicwake. I've hit 71 mph with Zero power Cuts using a 4519 but honestly those speeds you are going to split 100% with a crash. IMO the Hydra is just too much for it. But you need to get rid on the stock prop. That prop was just terrible for that boat. Stock everything on the sonicwake I've hit 55-57mph. But you are running the boat pretty wet and with huge batteries. Regardless nice run.
@@InnovationRC The reason I asked is the balance gets thrown off sometimes with certain esc's with the v2 and messes with the self righting. I've been wanting to get the hydra for my v2 and that was one of my concerns. The way you fitted that esc came out awesome 👌.
No way u need that many mah Ina boat for speed runs unless I'm wrong u should get a few mph without the extra weight maybe I'm wrong but those are monsters
Hey bud! I just picked one up yesterday! I'll have it's maiden on my channel sometime this week! Thanks for everything you do. It's an inspiration!
I appreciate those words, stay safe and have fun!
@@InnovationRC Anytime bud!! You should be acknowledged for your hard work!!

Can’t wait for the next video brilliant buddy boat looks amazing in the water
4.5 hp from the stock motor not bad. Can’t wait to see it with the motor upgrade. I’m running a 1515 2200kv in mine.
Great video, can't wait to see it run with that motor.
Love your videos man, keep it up
Thank you! I appreciate that 😃
Cant wait to see the castle motor 1650kv run.. i run a castle 1515 2200kv on 8s with a oxden prop geting 81mph
thats great speed bro. that motor is gonna make fly on water 💯👊🏼
Love to see you are getting into boats !!!
I'm loving the boats! It's so much different from cars! I'm a bit burnt front cars I've done them for 16 years!
@@InnovationRC Thats so awesome! I do boats primary! If you have any questions please let me know and i’ll see if i can give you some useful advise 🙌🏻
Nice video and looking forward to more boating content. I recommend the Oxidean Marine 4519.
Glad you like it, thanks for the advice! I'm torn between oxidean and OSE props
Don’t buy oxidean junk. Get a dasboata prop or the ose prop but don’t get an aluminum prop.
Oxidean was disappointing for me. Rc boat bitz way better. Oxi is good enough but overhyped
Awesome
Nice new spot!
Thank you!

I have my next prop picked out! Sharpened and balanced Octura x646. I'll see what I can do to sharpen some things on it. Thanks for the advice 👍

Nice esc upgrade B! Smooth when it’s going clockwise 👍🏾💯😁… dasbota prop should be Level 3!
Thanks Coach!
Hey where can I get the mounting plate?
I made the mounting plate from the metal plates at Home Depot. Super cheap
I guessed it right the other day. Thing is the 160 Firma is great for the Sonicwake. what mount did you use for this esc. it looks stock.
I made a mounting plate, drilled a couple holes in it and it worked out great
Awesome. M545 prop
Does your v2 still self right with that esc? Thats big for me and how did you mount yours it looks great !
Yup it certainly does self right still! It's a chamber that fills with water so that part I didn't change. Only the ESC!
@@InnovationRC The reason I asked is the balance gets thrown off sometimes with certain esc's with the v2 and messes with the self righting. I've been wanting to get the hydra for my v2 and that was one of my concerns. The way you fitted that esc came out awesome 👌.
@@Joe_GervasioI added a spektrum 160 ESC on mine and I had to add counterweights to get it to flip
@@InnovationRC I don't believe it will you should test that.
8S with stock motor is the sweet spot with these
It'll fly on 8s!
@@InnovationRC stock motor is way more robust than its given credit for, just like the Impulse 32 they will both run 8S all day long repeatedly
I was getting 60 on my v2 with a spektrum 160
My lord give us the next video !!! We need to see the speed !
Coming up next week! This weeks video I have something to keep the Sonicwake company!
QS8 plugs now.
That'll certainly help!
No way u need that many mah Ina boat for speed runs unless I'm wrong u should get a few mph without the extra weight maybe I'm wrong but those are monsters
Well I'll certainly say load is pretty high on basic setups. As long as weight placement is distributed correctly it'll be fine!
