    Kurz does mention in the first 3 seconds that these stars might have existed so it's probably safe to say this video is only talking about if they did exist what they might have acted like and not implying that they were real.

    my favourite part of this video is how it shows how much is left to be discovered out in space. We've made a lot of theories that are backed by the math, but it will be exciting for us and our descendants to prove or disprove these theories. Science still has a long way to go to understand even an inkling of the vast immensity that is our universe. Things are clearly not gonna get boring for scientists in the future.

    Very obnoxious commentary, constantly pointing out "it's theoretical!" in between the explanation because you "feel" like it's not being said properly. It's when someone makes an assumption too quickly before taking in the full amount on information provided. It might've been better to pause and go over more information in greater intervals instead of pausing mid explanation to tell us useless points. The random sudden transition to advertisement mid explanation as well immediately disconnected me from the video. Breaking people out of focus for badly placed advertisements is silly. The sheer narcissism of being a "physicist" and acting like the creators of the video you're commentating on doesn't know what they're talking about is very silly. They constantly point out the difference between theoretical and proven, however almost everything presented in their videos are largely theoretical which they persistently point out, they also include the exploration of other possible theories related to the topic or question at hand.
    I also noticed the constant head nods as though you're a judge checking on every single word or sentence said, their extreme analytical persona presented would be perfectly fine if you were extremely knowledgeable on the subject. The problem is that it comes off as extremely bad for anyone, and for a physicist, you may not know everything said or pointed out in the video better than the analytical team that spent months to get every sentence and fact right in their video. This is the narcissism of those who throw around their qualifications as though they're an authority of truth and act like it in their voice, posture and mannerisms.

    Quasi stars make a lot of sense to me, at least as a contributing explanation for the relatively flat geometry of spiral galaxies, with exception to elliptical galaxies which I are believed to be formed by galactic collisions/mergers. Further, wouldn't the object left behind after a Quasi-star has died be a Quasar?

    • @GuiSmith
      @GuiSmith Год назад

      This is speculation, as I’m not a physicist, but here’s what I understand:
      The biggest ones probably still have loads of gases from their discs, allowing quasars to form; but the majority would slowly lose theirs as large sections get thrown away by other objects coming nearby, slowly consumed until there’s nothing left, or just not having enough to form a particularly long-lasting or powerful accretion disc to begin with. Quasars need really big black holes, so some Quasi-Stars wouldn’t be big enough to birth a quasar on their own. It’ll instead be accreting, spewing out gas lobes for a while, then die down because it had consumed all that’s there and become practically invisible. Enough Quasi-Stars merge together, though, and you might get Ultramassive black holes at the heart of quasars. Many will become Supermassive instead, like our home galaxy’s Sagittarius A*. It’s worth noting the positions of these at the heart of dark matter halos makes them already central in galaxies and galaxy-forming bodies, helping reinforce our theories of Supermassive and Ultramassive block holes at the centres of most galaxies.

    Hey dylan im curious what you think of my hypothesis of dark matter.
    Basically i think the effect of dark matter is actually caused by the stars and other matter rubbing spacetime so much at really high velocities that the matter begins to warp spacetime in the same way a piece of paper wrinkles up when you scribble on it really fast.
    And because spacetime develops these bumps and dips time distorts the matter which passes through these regions of space time and affects the mass of the matter within. It is the reverse idea of gravitational time dilation. I call it temporal mass dilation.
    The main problem i see with this theory is the bumps which supposedly decrease the mass of matter. If this idea is correct then the mass should more or less even out across the board anyway. The way i might explain the abundance of excess mass would be that because the black hole at the center is so massive it attempts to keep spacetime taught and cuts off the peaks of the wrinkles while the troughs remain ever entrenched in the gravitational well.
    An entirely other hypothesis is the idea stars and other objects orbiting the black hole have the potential to sort of carve out gravitational grooves in spacetime.
    Either of these would also explain why dwarf galaxies collide and cause the matter to leave behind its dark matter. Its because that matter had been ripped away from that region of space.

    I'm curious what your opinion is of membrane theory for dark matter. I apparently independently came to membrane theory by listening to physicists talk about cosmological crises and would love someone who is actually working on this stuff to prove me wrong.
    My idea of it basically revolves around the concept that gravity as we see it may be just that the gravitational force we can percieve in our frame of reference within the universe and actually gravity is about as strong as the other fundamental forces but is tempered in a way by the effects of dark matter and interactions either between universes, outside of the universe or in extra dimensions we cant percieve. So in effect the interactions of gravity on higher dimensions creates negative gravity wells that form dark matter halos as if the base of mountains collecting sediment which locks in gravitational objects into semi ordered structures. Also imo it provides some reasoning for the stable plateau energy state of the universe as it appears now, that this tempered gravity essentially acts as an anchor preventing the universe from continuing its phase decay of course unless the fundamental physics alter again like after the big bang.
    Now of course a lot of this is essentially non falsifiable, we cant really peer into alternate universes or higher dimensions so feel free to dismiss these aspects. But to me it does sound like a solid explanation for how hard it is to actually percieve dark matter, that it isnt actually within your universe but is more akin to a gravitational shadow effecting it from the edges. (Edges in this case overlapping because space time isnt a box lol)

    yes it is a reaction video but he still got too excited and kept ruining the pacing of his video and Kurzgesagt video as well. also just noticed but Dylan didn't mention Kurzgesagt in the description or title. linking the original video or channel is the least you could do in a reaction video. immediate dislike
