To the viewer dealing with Depression and anxiety - I too have been dealing with Depression for 20 years now. PLEASE understand this: Depression is a medical condition, just like Diabetes or heart disease. It is NOT a character flaw or a sign of weakness. It has to do with chemical imbalances in the brain, and can often run in families. I am a military veteran, husband, father & worked in the medical field myself... it can happen to anyone. And sometimes I too WANT to play my guitar, but just can't... and that's okay. I know that music has been the one thing in my life that has ALWAYS been there for me - and when I CAN play again, be it tomorrow or next week, it will welcome me back with open arms. Please, do not be ashamed of your condition and talk to your doctor about treatment. You are not alone in this struggle.

Man. You seem to take vacations several times a year. And Spain always looks amazing...Thats pretty cool. I've havent taken a vacation since I was 11 or so, with my parents. ( I'm 56 and work 65 hours a week....I'm lucky they give me a day off every week...much less vacation....LOL)
Concerning the fellow who isnt playing because of his emotional state, I'm the exact same that way. I've played off and on for most of my life, ( over 40 years ) and have in my possession, 9 guitars, as many amps, a dozen mic's, interfaces, load boxes, several DAW's, about a dozen speaker cabs, MORE then everything a person needs to make music,.... and I dont. Your advice was good, but for people like us, it usually wont help. I've tried, ( I'm sure he has too...) everything I can think of to get out of the block, but its a very deeply buried issue. As a player for so long, I should be better then I actually am, and when I get so badly disappointed in myself when I try to play, I stop again. Yes, part of the problem is feeling like playing is something I NEED to do, and when it doesnt happen, it just gets worse. I actually have my entire studio set up for sale because after a lifetime of wanting to be nothing more then a guitarist, at some point, you have to walk away and try to move on. Sort of like, "If I dont have the stuff here, I wont be so badly depressed about not doing it.." I'm sure the guy has gone through, probably STILL going through this...I feel his frustration. I swear when you read his comment, it could have been me it was so close. Good on you man for addressing the guy. There are things I could tell him, but I am no shining example of beating self doubt, or getting past my depression. Thanks Ola for giving a damn about the guy....

Aloha, Ola. I’ve been hooked on your vids every day for the past 3 months. I’ve just finished watching every FAQ vid starting from the recent ones, to the oldest ones. One observation I made was the fact that you seem much happier (maybe even more yourself) in current day compared to your first FAQ. Were you more shy? Maybe the vids felt like a drag considering you weren’t making as much?

For the dude with depression - i know how you feel. Im in exact same situation. I also get burned out on guitar, so i just put it down and do something else for a few months, and come back to the guitar and i fall in love with it again. Getting new gear also helps a lot

Hey Ola! Im going to have to undergo surgery in the next coming week on my right wrist due to a ganglion cyst. I got the cyst because of poor stretching and warm up practices before i would play demanding stuff on guitar. I was wondering if you have ever suffered any similar injuries from playing and if you have, how you recovered and what your process is for stretching and warming up before you start playing the more demanding stuff. Hola Ola! Two questions if I may - 1. How do you balance your noise levels with your neighbours? Like are they super cool and just let you make the noise you want or do you agree that you'll not play after a certain time of the day? etc 2. When you go to the other Nordic countries (apart from Finland of course, assuming you don't speak Finnish) do you speak their language, do you speak Swedish and try and just make it work, or do you just speak English? Hi Ola, trying to come to terms with Vinnie Paul’s passing, I met him once, about a month after Dimes death, he was kind to me, even though he didn’t have to be, given the circumstances. hey Ola love the vids and i am thinking of buying a solar v guitar probably the white one :D but i am concerned about the input jack getting in my way when i'm playing on stage. i usually put my jack over the strap so if i step on the cable i don't get plugged out but i'm worried that doing this on solar v guitar will not be possible or will result in it lookin "not as cool".and just leaving the jack like that plugged in im afraid of stepping on it :/// please help me out :D and have a nice day!

Hei på deg Ola! In my short experience (soon 4 yrs) of playing guitar, I've constantly tried to improve the tone. After buying and selling about 4 amps, I now got the Orange Micro Dark and some good quality pedals. What I feel is missing now is a drop-tune guitar. But instead of buying one guitar for low tunings, I want to try a drop-tune pedal. What would you recommend?

Hi, Ola. When programming drums, do you manually set the velocity of each note to give it a "human touch" or you don't mess with it at all and let the Superior Drums(or whatever Drum VST you're using) "humanize" all the notes? Thanks!

I got a problem about too much noise in my setting:(
I am using a Peavey5150 Preamp with a Mesa Boogie 412 V30 Cab sim in my Line6 POD HD500X, I put a Horizon Devices Precision Drive and a TC Electric Sentry Noise Gate in front of the HD500X.
I set the gain to 50% on the preamp and 0 on the drive pedal, but the sound got sooo much noise!!
Could you give me some tips??
