In this video we will choose a multi split air conditioner system with Daikin units.
Daikin is a renouned brand of air conditioners from Japan. In their lineup of products are multi split systems, air conditioners with multiple indoor units and one outdoor unit.
The outdoor units can connect up to 5 indoor unit.
There are 9 outdoor units: 2MXM40N, 2MXM50N, 2MXM68N, 3MXM52N, 3MXM68N, 4MXM68N and 5MXM90N.
The indoor units can be from the following ranger of products: Emura FTXJ, Stylish FTXA, Perfera FTXM, Comfora FTXP, and Sensira range FTXF.

Finally got it up and running. The only delays we had was because we realized we needed some extra parts (I’ll list that below) ruclips.net/user/postUgkxihMYiJNXcHdbH-7ihymsLz61l7jVyb5O . So we have a loft where our current hvac just couldn’t seem to keep cool during the summer. We have been using a window unit since we bought this house over 6 years ago (all the houses in this neighborhood were built in the 80’s and majority of the houses built like ours use a window unit). I hate window units because they are just so noisy and the one we had really only cools one side of the loft. I had contemplated upgrading our current HVAC, but with all the rising prices these days, it would take years before saving up enough to do that. With the advice of my father-in-law (used to run an HVAC business), he recommended we get an inverter instead. We thought we bought everything we needed, but there were just a few other parts we didn’t anticipate needing (which is what caused most of our delay). My friend and father-in-law did all the work to get it installed and running and now we have nice cool air circulating nicely throughout the entire loft. It is very quiet and even the outside unit is much quieter than our main HVAC unit. Saved ourselves thousands getting this.
Hi, When choosing the power requirements of say a heating only system, do you take into account the COP of the system. So if my heating load was 30kW for instance, and the outdoor unit has a rating of 10kW with a COP of 3, can I assume it will be able to meet the heating load? Similarly then for the indoor units, am I sizing and counting those with the COP included. Thanks for the video.
COP - the coefficient of performance, is the ratio between the absorbed electric power and the generated heating thermal power. For example, a modern heat pump will generate 3 kW of thermal energy for 1 kW of electrical energy consumed. In this case the COP will be 3. This value is offered at certain values of the internal and external temperature. The COP also varies depending on these values.
The COP also determines the energy class in which the product is located. The energy classes are differentiated according to the type of device. For split and window models, they are based on seasonal efficiency. For single or double piping systems, it is based on the calculated (rated) efficiency.
Ex: for duct systems, A+++ COP≥3.6, A++ 3.1≤COP
If the outdoor unit has 3x 3/8 gas connection but I need 1x 1/2 gas for a 5kw indoor unit, how can i connect it together?
Hi, such a situation does not exist with Daikin outdoor units.
In other situations where it is necessary to connect the refrigeration lines to another size, there is a reduction package in the unit box.
Ex: 3MXM40, 3MXM52, 3MXM68
Liquid piping 3× Ø6.4 mm (1/4")
Gas piping 1× Ø9.5 mm (3/8")
2× Ø12.7 mm (1/2")
We can use normal invertor Daikin Ac for dual use

Single-split inverter units cannot be used for multi-split installations
Can that outdoor unit service cassettes?
Yes, they can, for example with FFA cassettes.
