My biggest gripe with the Matchmaking algorithm is this insane Ping Ponging. Why can i go into Lvl 10 Lobbies in the first place ? that should be impossible. But the opposite is also true. I recently showed a friend the Game for the first time. We won 1 match. And the next game we were literally fighting 10k kill players. Me and a a lvl 2 Buddy. I also often get into Low lvl lobbies when i take a 2 week brake. Win. and then have Master Duo stacks as Champions the very next game. There has to be a healthy middle ground. I'm also not saying that no one has ever abused this system to get high damage games. Cringe kids gonna ringe. But the accusation that "all big RUclipsrs use Bot Lobbies on purpose" is just such utter nonsense.

Mokey: This is 100% the case when solo queueing. Lose 10-15 matches consecutively and early with 0 damage and you’ll get super easy lobbies on your 16th game. However, this is not the case when loading into matches with friends, as the algorithm automatically pits you in higher MMR lobbies and often with other premades. Honestly, I can’t stand how aggressive public matchmaking can get. There is this wild misconception that being a Diamond Master or Pred = having an easier experience in pubs. While the Preds will still often come out on top the majority of the time, being a Diamond or Masters player and exclusively playing better Masters or Preds means that you’re essentially fodder. It’s ENTIRELY possible to be way above average (Diamond Masters) and have really poor outcomes in pubs (because you’re locked into playing the top 1%). This is a ridiculous notion for a non-ranked game mode. And the manipulative matchmaking feels shitty for average players too. Doing slightly above average one game should not instantly turn the game into ALGS. In many ways I think I would prefer more random public matchmaking (with the exception of new players; new players should 100% have a safe space to learn). I’d prefer random matchmaking (or connection based) than this manipulative algorithm.
Agreed 100%. I only ever play ranked cause I'm so busy and can't really get in more than 100-300 games in a season since season 5 or so and I've made diamond every season except last season when I played even less than usual. It's honestly insane that I'm getting paired with absolutely insane players. Like the game thinks I'm aceu when I'm barely a diamond level player. I'm always fodder for people who have more time invested.
You have a point. Now in rank it’s mostly kill hunters than people who rotate. So by the time I rotate, my team is already picking a fight for no reason against a team with the high ground. I’ll stick to casuals until things get straight thank you very much.
You don't have to do this 15x. Jump out of the dropship straight out of bounds 2 or 3 times and you'll get the bot lobbies. One caveat is to not touch the ground, just jump directly out of bounds from the jumpship. You've been wasting alot of time my friend. 😅😅
@@eldiabloblanco3167 you can just leave as soon as you see the map to make it faster, me and my friend tried it yesterday we were consistently getting 20 bombs and 4k damages like nothing lol now i get how them youtubers get their clips
This also just happens naturally with the faide/aceu type content. Most of the time they drop, get a bad gun, and die within 30 secs. Leave game and repeat. But every once in a while they get a good game, after many bad ones. That good game could be against bots just because of how hot dropping works, not on purpose.
Look at gaming merchants videos he is very open about his "good" rounds on youtube and says he spends a lot of time dying before he gets into a round that seems to work out! They drop, they try, they die, they repeat. Only for a single good youtube video :D
If you actually watch them the bad games you described are very rare. They’re actually just better than most pub players since lost players who are good are in ranked. Which even there they pop off
bro this actually makes so much sense lmao youre a genius i never have the mental fortitude to keep playing if a die off spawn more than 3 times but they just keep queueing right on
@@ImNotFVDED I dont wanted to say gaming merchant was bad because this guy is a beast literally chill while killing the lobby :D All im saying is sometimes these guys put in a lot hours for a round that also ends well!
they avg a few kills a game, which basically makes it impossible to get bad lobbies. unless you go neural or negative over and over, it's usually pretty hard to get into those lobbies. they just have really good positioning and game sense that makes it look easy, and the other players don't expect it making them look bad. and that's not even mentioning all the other things like aim.
Last season I was a bit behind with the treasure packs, so I played no-fill duos to just open loot bins and get my daily treasure packs. In some of those games I dropped straight down from the drop ship, and noticed people doing the same, but quitting after they hit the ground. I've even seen the same guy do this in 2 different matches. I assume they were doing it to get to bot lobbies.
Thats what I do when I dont feel like playing sometimes. Just choose the legend thats in the "play 2 matches" from the daily quest, no-fill and drop at loot bins to get the daily treasure and leave. If you do this a couple of days in a row you get into easy mode lobbies.
can confirm. I was grinding those stupid "play as random legend" things, and contently jumping off the map to get them done quick, after i finished, i just SHREDDED though the lobby that i actually was playing. And im horrible at the game.
There's absolutely no middle ground your either versing sweatiest players until you loose like 10- 20 games in a row then you'll get a bot lobby and the players are so bad you run through the whole lobby and it's not even satisfying getting the win
yes this might explain why me getting 30 damage and then dying will put me in lobbies where the average player has 10k kills and has a master or pred badge
I think its designed like this cos ALOT of people hot drop and die within 30 seconds to RNG. Rinse repeat for a few rounds then the algorithm wants you to get a dopamine hit and drops u in a lesser skilled lobby to make you feel better about yourself and keep playing. I think it is designed like this because of how people play pubs - for kills. And you usually have to drop fairly hot to do so.
Came across the same thing, but in different circumstances. A few times in order to advance the BP, you're required to play specific 3 legend 12 times... The issue is that sometimes you don't want to play any of them. My solution was to solo queue in Duos and the moment possible, just dive straight off the map to off myself. The difference in lobbies after that is like day and night. The same goes for winning just 1 match. Recently I've won a match with peeps who actually were willing to play as a team and knew how to communicate, even tho we were using just in-game pings, which is truly a rarity... Anyway, we all got quite a few kills each and very next few matches, half of the lobby with ranked trails, downing me the very moment i was noticed and with movement I can only describe as the most extreme version of "Floor is lava". I could understand such system in ranked, but in casual, that removes randomness of the matches and can basically punish you for happening to play to well in some matches.
I have an interesting experience to share. S11 and just yesterday I did the "Win a match with only loot from prowlers and flyers on storm point" challenge it took me a lot of tries beating up prowlers, and shooting flyers down with rampart and vantage ult for guns but it was fun, however other than that, during this time the game has put me into horrible, horrible absolutely disgusting lobbies I should have never been in, I wouldn't even call it a normal bot lobby, to put it into perspective, it felt like the players I was playing against weren't even there, like they were machines, actual AI bots, I'm convinced that there definitely was some ai going on but I also think that these were probably a lot of little kids or otherwise mentally and physically unfit people for a shooter game. I've never had such a horrible bad lobby ever again except for when I spent time trying to finally finish the challenge. Now playing in a bot lobby obviously already feels pretty unfair but this shit was WAY beyond unfair, people were BARELY even shooting, many squads died in the ring, to prowlers or falling of the map at lightning rod, I witnessed a lot of squads not dropping from drop ship until auto ejected which ended up in a punch out in the waters of storm point. The challenge was fun, but Jesus christ im never doing this again.
Something similar happened to me a couple of weeks ago, I decided to spend an hour or two just walking around the map to practice some movement, some looting and some zip line skills. In my first match after that time I almost dropped a 4k 20 bomb( I did 18 kills and 3800 damage). I thought that some mistake happened but apparently that's just how the matchmaking works. I thought about repeating the experiment later to see if I could get a 4k 20 bomb( I still don`t have any TT) but I gave up because I want to earn a real 4k 20 bomb someday.
Ngl I quit apex a week ago and just feel so much better. I can't accept the very rapidly changing manipulation of the difficulty when I just want to relax and play pubs. Not to mention that it tends towards higher lobbies anyways. Been playing this game too long, I'm about over it.
this happened to me. I had a really bad day after school and I was struggling. like dying off rip over and over, I was literally about to quit but i dropped my first 20 bomb because the players where quite bad. Idk why i kept playing, i was just getting myself into a hole, but it worked ig
i found this out over a year ago also, if you load into duos/trios and fling yourself off the map for 5/6 games running you will start to notice the skill level drop in lobbies. Continuing to do so eventually drops you into what i refered to as 'starter' lobbies where it was full of ppl who seemed brand new to the game. The interesting thing tho i found is in my experimenting i started to become aware that others were doing the same thing. Leaving drop ship either right at the start or at the end of its flight path and diving off the map. I made a reddit post listing the names of the ppl i continually saw doing this and it was quite a large list by the time i stopped and continued playing as intended
There are studies on rats and one in particular has shown that if a rat loses more than 7 out of 10 matches against another rat it will stop playing with that rat. And we aren't so different. Apex has an asymmetrical amount of winners and losers but to keep the losers playing you need them to win once in a while and make them feel like winners or else they'll quit and you don't have enough losers to fill your lobbies. The example shown in the video is the system working in an extreme fashion because it isn't limited to how low it can get you, all it's interested in is to get you a good game to throw you back into the higher elo games to make you fodder for someone else and repeat the cycle. Also, worth searching for is "wolf sheep mmo pvp" because this a problem since forever.
I've noticed that if I No Fill duos or trios, I get put in the hardest lobbies imaginable against 20k+ players where everyones a stacked diamond / masters+ team. However, if I fill with a random teammate, I get put in the easiest lobbies known to man where my teammates are nowhere near my level and I shred the lobby. There's no middleground for the matchmaking. It's either fucked or getting fucked. I can't play with a lot of my friends anymore because pubs lobbies are so insanely sweaty when I queue with even my not-so-great console friends that it's impossible to have fun. I've had to turn down teaching people Apex because I know they won't be able to do anything in my lobbies without getting rolled unless I make an alt and smurf.
Depending on how this actually works, you might be able to farm wins for the win badge, hear me out: Lose a bunch of games without dealing any damage Get into a bot lobby Wait it out until there’s only 1 team left (you’ll probably make it come on) Win the game with minimal damage and kills and go onto the next one Repeat Is this possible? Or after winning once you get thrown back into your normal matchmaking?
That's exactly what many streamers do 😂 You can just see in many Pred/Master content creators lobbies the enemy is just standing still or just being a bot in every way.
Its basically the way scratch offs work. They give you a bunch of losing tickets then occasionally give you a big win, which keeps you coming back for more
I have not gotten a single bot lobby in so long. I get 9th-party'd every single match and all the squads focus me. Every time I try to rotate, they rotate to keep my squad in the middle of everyone. My Apex pubs feel like masters lobbies every single time. Ah, the bad side of trying to increase your K/D.
Im pretty sure this happens to everyone but its only noticeable to those who are at least half decent at the game. You lose a few matches (no matter how much damage/kills you do) you get put into bot/easier lobbies. And like mokey said if you win even Once its back to versing 3 stack Masters. A lot of new and very bad players (who are the majority of the playerbase) dont even notice the "easier" lobbies because THEY are the easier to kill players. Matchmaking needs a OVERHAUL so it matches based on actual skill.
there IS a very easy and quick method to get into these lobbies solos or with friends, i am hesitant to discuss it because for many people its the only fun thing left in this game to do, but its a lot easier than you think, its quick, and its not limited to just solo queue
This makes a lot of sense. 99% of my games I no fill hot drop so I die a lot off drop, sometimes multiple times in a row, and then I’ll drop a 20 bomb and 4k and it’s just rinse and repeat lmao
Confim this on season 8, i was roleplaying as friendly pathfinder. At the same time I want to check if lower skill level is aware if im the enemy if i dont shoot first
This happens in ranked aswell Edit: this also has been known for atleast 3 seasons I first heard about it back in season 12 the a youtuber tested it and it turns out the game decides if you stomp a lobby you get matched with preds and will actively try and match you with people in your squad with worse skill
I also have 2.1 KD and i notice that i’m the best player on my squad 95% of the time. That’s not me being cocky either because i know there are plenty of players who’d absolutely destroy me, it just sucks that i have to compensate for my teammates incompetent almost every game.
Better to base it on kills and lifetime damage than wins cause you can always rat until the final 2 squads and get the win if you are lucky while you only got 2 kills and 200 damage
@@angelrm98 idt lifetime stats mean anything it should go by season ppl improve/get worse over time, wither it's their own doing or their their crutch legend being g needed or the player base getting better. Everyone sucked season 0.
Ive found that with ranked I will have to perform well to get good team mates. Example: -2 bad team mates and I get high damage and kills ( x 3) - After these types of game the game tends to gives me good team mates as I assume it realises I’m doing well enough to deserve them
my Apex Legends experience is joining a game get put in a predator lobby then get wiped the moment I touch the ground repeat 5 to 10 times then I get into a low levels bot lobby where I destroy everyone I meet easily getting at least 10 to 15 kills then win the match the next match right after is right back to a predator lobby where I get wiped the moment I touch the ground and the cycle repeat
I know it's a sin to talk about fortnite on apex videos, but I want to share my story. I'm a hardcore in apex. 4+ hours every day on average since season 2. I downloaded fortnite about four days ago, because apex isn't fun anymore for me. It's just a grind with constant sweating. I played my first game of solo no building, and had an absolute blast. So much fun beyond reason! I played three or four more games after that, won my first three for sure but not the fourth. I shut it off for the night. Next day? Couldn't get a kill. Shit on by people who have hundreds or even thousands of hours in the game. I played maybe four games getting shit on, then played one game where I had fun but didn't win. Without even knowing any of the weapons or how to heal my shields beyond 50%, I was out into high tier lobbies. I uninstalled after four days. Battle Royale games seem to all follow similar matchmaking. The yoyoing back and forth between too easy and too hard. It isn't just apex matchmaking I guess is my main point. If you are above average at a BR, you are going to be yoyoing until you become top tier at the game. The most fun I've had in apex since season 4 was making a smurf account and doing challenges. Mozambique only, random legend random gun, no healing, whatever I could think of that kept me from destroying new players but still having fun. I just wish in apex there was some escape from the sweatfest. Ranked is the new pubs, no LTM is without high ranked players sweating. I just want some playlist I can go to and just have fun when I don't feel like sweating. Instead I have to choose another game.
R6 siege has a newplayer mode where once you get past a certain level than you can no longer play that mode, but then you can just make a new account and smerf
I need these lobbies please. As a casual controller player, I am constantly being stomped by PC sweatlords with absolutely zero chill, and it's hard for me to even warm up without being completely curbstomped. Edit: Thank you to the kind strangers that replied, explaining how crossplay works and the issues behind it. I understand that most PC players can't use movement tech and such to the extent of a pro. I for one play on Sydney servers, and I don't know what everyone else plays on, but these servers appear to have a much higher PC/Console ratio in favour of PC. As for those that simply insulted me in the comments, you're helping no one. Insults don't explain a problem, they only add to it.
@@-AT-WALKER I solo queue into pubs trios with crossplay enabled because that's the only way I'll get a lobby. In my opinion, it's not crossplay that's the problem, it's the skill distribution system. I am quite good at the game, but I keep getting into lobbies with players with significantly higher skill than me. To compound the problem, most of these players are on PC, meaning that they have access to movement tech which I simply cannot perform without hours of intensive practice and proper config settings, which cannot be edited on a PS4 in the ways needed.
I mean I thought this was known, Apex does this to maximise your time playing the game. If you’re getting destroyed game after game you won’t keep playing, so they give u easier lobbies to keep u hooked
They need to matchmake based on rank not skill, makes more sense to play against same rank players than have automated system that bases your matchmaking on your last game so they put you in a bot lobby or full pressure lobby
This would make the ranked game mode pointless. Casual shouldn’t be based on anything, it should just be everyone (good or bad) but it truly needs to be random to get players of every skill range.
i discovered that in season 5 that u can fly 10times into the abyss and get into bot lobbies, if u dont care kd u can ez get into bot lobbies and farm 4k 20b
I'm here to tell you that you don't have to die. it works literally the same way just leaving the game. leave as soon as you load into the dropship and after around 5+ games and your skill based will be down to dog water levels
I've known this method for like 2 years, and yes, it's how a lot of people get youtube videos. I only trust a gameplay video if they were streaming it.
I thought this was a known thing. Of you want bot lobbies dive off the map right out of the jump ship. Dont touch the ground, just jump directly out of bound. After 2 or 3 times you'll notice by the champion squad what kind of lobbies you're in. If you pay attention at the beginning of the match you'll see almost every match someone does this.
The algorithm is like casino winnings. It's rigged to hook the player in. Take a few days off, and you get into easy lobbies to begin with. One win will increase the difficulty of the next lobby a bit. Two wins and you're with the sweats again.
Matchmaking for Apex is broken AF. Was on the verge of stopping playing then heard about respawn selling items that aren't delivered upon payment (disgraceful for a digital download) - final straw FTS
I remember there was a point when I was playing where I would try to play each game, and still get put into bot lobbies sometimes. I guess I'm just that much of a noob lmao
That's a legit way to find "bot" lobbies, I believe the gaming merchant also accidentally found this. In essence there is a moving skill system, that's the reason why if you ever win a match/two on a streak, the game puts you into the master/pred 3 stack lobbies
Guys, you can literally reproduce this yourself if you just drop out of bounds 5 times in a row (if you really wanna do it, pls do it without refill, so you don't grief anyone at least).
It basically means that its impossible to play with friends who want to play the game from scratch, as I've turned friends off from playing since I played from them in low level lobbies and then we were suddenly facing pred triple stacks and they gave up
I am still convinced that some people even go as far as using vpn to get into middle east servers and annihilate on 60 fps against people who don't even know how to holster their weapons.
I feel like they need to take a real deep look at the match maker. It shouldn’t judge based solely on the individuals performance in the specific match (atleast). What it should do imo is compare the players best performance and worst performance in general and adjust based on the current performance with the previous info. For example: If I started playing the game right now, I’d get a match with the best players in the game and I would lose. Than I would go to the waaay too low level games where my team mates would be like lvl 10 and it would be me on my own basically. It should be that I am put against players that are the skill level I have been able to kill before and win against (or it could be in a different order, so that I begin with a challenge), and slowly increase the skill if my enemies game by game all the way to the people I’ve struggeled against. From there the game can start testing how much I’ve improved and throw some of the really good players at me like the pred players.
It’s been so bad for me for so long I’ve just accepted that I have to essentially 1v3 diamond and up 3 stacks in pubs, Which doesn’t end very well but it definitely makes good games feel better
Apex does not have SBMM (skill based matchmaking) it has PBMM (performance based matchmaking) and the scale slider that determines your lobby has been abuseable for the last 6 or 7 seasons.
Nah its dopamine based match making (DBMM) cos most people drop hot and likely die within 1 min due to RNG. Do this a few times and then the algorithm wants to you get a dopamine hit and puts u into easier lobbies so you won't turn the game off. Rinse repeat lol.
this is true. you know events asks you to get "Top10 15-20 times" or some shit like that? since I'm tired of playing apex last season and i just want to get those event skins what I do is I no-fill land safe and camp till top 10 and jump off the map or nade myself to finish the challenge the next time I play fr it's low elo lobbies or bot lobbies.
I honestly wish every once in a while I could get in to lobbies like these. I can play 10 matches in a row and die off drop and every single match I load in to even after playing like shit for a full day my champion team is a full pred or master squad. It gets exhausting to have to sweat my ass off every match I play.
Me and 2 of my friends who are new to the apex were getting matched against masters just because i’m level 148 and do above average damage. After 6 matches of dying to diamonds and masters they hopped off and played something else. Just because I do above average damage shouldn’t mean I can’t play apex with my friends
@@ItAintJohny because your friends are noobs and you dont want them to play against skilled players. Think that thought a little bit further, if the Matchmaking would depend on the lowest account in the party a pred could always join bot lobbies just by adding a fresh account to his party
@@Moin723 bro stop trying to defend apex, it’s not that they aren’t skilled it’s that the matchmaking put us against people that have no life with 10k hours in the game. It’s not a skill issue, it’s an issue where new players are getting matched against people that far surpass their skill level, so there’s no room to learn. Because the matchmaking sucks
@@Moin723 lol, making a new account has no impact on matchmaking. Went into an arenas match on a brand new account, then went on my main account (lvl 130+) and I got the same people
Match making (in my opinion) should based off K/d and I bit of lvl. If someone just started the game and has a 5 k/d it would put them in other lobbies with that same k/d but still low lvl. In higher lvl, it would take the kd and lvl, and put them a lobby with similar kd and lvl
No. This is SBMM what you are describing. Public CASUAL playlists have to be RANDOM. Match anyone together without a fucking algorithm to rigg matches. I want to play against ANYONE on the server I play without a fucking filter system.
I disagree that's what ruins the game for good players who wanna play casual, that's what ranked mode is for and why you see surf accounts. Sometimes you just wanna drop in and vibe, but strict sbmm has you playing for $1millon every game. There should be Sbmm but it should be several brackets wider than a ranked lobby.
Simply using k/d would be sufficient in creating a fair matchmaking system for public/casual lobbies. If someone wanted to smurf, they would have to continually die more times than they get kills which would make it more and more difficult to preserve the account's "smurfiness" as the account ages.
@@thenry3600 Why does matching someone against similarly skilled opponents ruin the game for them? "Bad" players aren't meant to just be fodder so "good" players can get their 20 kill games and 4k badges; there are real human beings on the other side of the monitor trying to have a fun time too. If you want to truly "drop in and vibe", then do so and your k/d will soon reflect that you're playing more casually and you'll get opponents who are also playing at that level.
My friend who just started the game recently had his first game matched with a level 480 bald wraith with 1k kills And now he wont even try apex again, which was sad
That’s how it be. Playing with new friends i impossible unless you have a Smurf account and have to make sure you don’t do go on Smurf account while you play with them. So basically teaching my and not even playing the game hahaha

Im from brazil, and here nobody plays duos, so im forced to change server and whenever that happens i almost always get into bot lobyes, no matter how hood i was in the previous game in SA
Everyday i play around 9pm-1am and i usually get a win around 11 like clock work everyday. Then i lose back to back the rest of the night. Unless i play arenas, i usually never lose in arenas
i wasn't know that you can go to bot lobbies but i was know that when i get bad games the game puts me with other people that like my skill or below so i can win or gets some kills but after that game i turn back to master and pred sweaty lobbies etc...
I've known this for a while now, last year my ISP had routing problems causing my ping to spike to 200-300ms with ocational packet loss. I'm forced to quit like 10-20 matches in a row just to get in a lobby with good ping without any packet loss, I'd notice that I'd be playing against bots after quiting many games.
I've seen streamers on bilibili using bot lobbies to farm 4k 20bomb badges for about $10usd for buyers. They quit while on the dropship for about 10 games and then get into bot lobbies and kill everyone. They say that by quitting on dropship it won't affect the account's K/D statics (but will affect matchmaking)
This becomes less of an issue if you only play ranked. Yes there have been a lot of issues with ranked play lately, but in S14 it’s pretty good IMO. You’ll reach a point where you really are playing against players who are about your skill level.
i played ranked in order to escape masters/plats/preds from quick game(my level is bronze) and they're still here, i simply cannot escape the bullshitery of this game
If your friends have bad MMR the game still puts you in bad lobbies in my experience
@@HACKERMANNN people who do that instead of fighting people of their own skill are degenerates
I drop and quit like this to do daily challenges for legends (like play 2 games for giby etc)
can confirm.
@@youravghuman5231 diamond trails are ok. It only becomes horryfying when diamonds are cannon fodders and champion has 30k kills and 3x pred badges.
Trust me. You don’t want sbmm removed.
Sounds like a creepypasta
Sounds like a fun challenge, I'm up for it
This is so fucking horrific
Something similar happened to me a couple of weeks ago, I decided to spend an hour or two just walking around the map to practice some movement, some looting and some zip line skills. In my first match after that time I almost dropped a 4k 20 bomb( I did 18 kills and 3800 damage). I thought that some mistake happened but apparently that's just how the matchmaking works. I thought about repeating the experiment later to see if I could get a 4k 20 bomb( I still don`t have any TT) but I gave up because I want to earn a real 4k 20 bomb someday.
massive respect for not abusing this :)
Well that’s the ONLY way to achieve a 20bomb is by getting into a bot lobby, you’re not doing it going against teams that know what they’re doing.
@@EM-ek4ng yh it's really hard killing 20 players as good as u in single game

I can agree on this. Usually my first game after a week or two is easy and it gets me hyped up. The game after that is back to sweat lobbies.
Ngl I quit apex a week ago and just feel so much better. I can't accept the very rapidly changing manipulation of the difficulty when I just want to relax and play pubs. Not to mention that it tends towards higher lobbies anyways.
Been playing this game too long, I'm about over it.
Idk if you still play but go on Hong Kong servers thank me later
This is why the respect for 20 kill and 4k has become little to none
I don't care If i see a 4k or a 20 bomb I'm either gonna get carried or absolutely wrecked and im Fine with that
ever since you released this video my lobbies have been utterly insane
Dude those are my team mates whenever i play ranked
This is the reason why the best badge will always be the 5 br win streak in a row, because 5 will be the strongest lobby
Honestly I was kind of expecting a rick roll or something but this is a really good explanation. Thanks for spelling it out for us
this happened to me. I had a really bad day after school and I was struggling. like dying off rip over and over, I was literally about to quit but i dropped my first 20 bomb because the players where quite bad. Idk why i kept playing, i was just getting myself into a hole, but it worked ig
It's been hard explaining this to everyone who is mad about them getting in lobbies with masters and preds
I just played 4 Apex games in 6mins
i found this out over a year ago also, if you load into duos/trios and fling yourself off the map for 5/6 games running you will start to notice the skill level drop in lobbies.
Me who gets queued up with preds for literally DAYS and is also loosing 90% of the time cause I’m currently suffering a decease called no-skill-month
Depending on how this actually works, you might be able to farm wins for the win badge, hear me out:
Lose a bunch of games without dealing any damage
Get into a bot lobby
Wait it out until there’s only 1 team left (you’ll probably make it come on)
Win the game with minimal damage and kills and go onto the next one
Repeat
Is this possible?
Just try harder.

At the same time I want to check if lower skill level is aware if im the enemy if i dont shoot first
This happens in ranked aswell
Edit: this also has been known for atleast 3 seasons I first heard about it back in season 12 the a youtuber tested it and it turns out the game decides if you stomp a lobby you get matched with preds and will actively try and match you with people in your squad with worse skill
that explains how I can get a p4 and a gold 4 when queueing as a d4
I got a 2.1 k/d and get match with preds and masters every game it finally makes sense it really should be how many wins you have and etc
yeah, i have a .7 kd (ik it's terrible) and I get put in with those same people even if I die instantly 10 times in a row
I also have 2.1 KD and i notice that i’m the best player on my squad 95% of the time. That’s not me being cocky either because i know there are plenty of players who’d absolutely destroy me, it just sucks that i have to compensate for my teammates incompetent almost every game.

Casual shouldn’t be based on anything, it should just be everyone (good or bad) but it truly needs to be random to get players of every skill range.

thats crazy. me and my friend always die off spawn and still get put into master and pred lobbies. were both lvl 40
Two wins and you're with the sweats again.
all you have to do is start a game immediately after worlds edge rotation is over
Matchmaking for Apex is broken AF.
It's engagement based matchmaking. That's why nobody can solo cue pubs anymore even.
and i think its offline time related, when i don`t play apex for like two weeks and going back, almost every time like 95% times i get bot lobby first
It basically means that its impossible to play with friends who want to play the game from scratch, as I've turned friends off from playing since I played from them in low level lobbies and then we were suddenly facing pred triple stacks and they gave up
I am still convinced that some people even go as far as using vpn to get into middle east servers and annihilate on 60 fps against people who don't even know how to holster their weapons.
I remember doing that in R6 with a friend when we kept teamkilling each other
I don't even have a K/DA above 1 (because of my stupid lobbies) and still get put in the same lobbies.
They already did take a 'look', and use EOMM to make sure we spend as much money possible by 'fixing' your games to be wins or losses.
Retardspawn are too lazy
It’s been so bad for me for so long I’ve just accepted that I have to essentially 1v3 diamond and up 3 stacks in pubs, Which doesn’t end very well but it definitely makes good games feel better

Apex does not have SBMM (skill based matchmaking) it has PBMM (performance based matchmaking) and the scale slider that determines your lobby has been abuseable for the last 6 or 7 seasons.

I disagree, I think Apex does have SBMM (sanity based matchmaking)
Nah, they do have SBMM (Shit based match making).
Nah its dopamine based match making (DBMM) cos most people drop hot and likely die within 1 min due to RNG. Do this a few times and then the algorithm wants to you get a dopamine hit and puts u into easier lobbies so you won't turn the game off. Rinse repeat lol.
eomm actually
this is true. you know events asks you to get "Top10 15-20 times" or some shit like that?

I honestly wish every once in a while I could get in to lobbies like these. I can play 10 matches in a row and die off drop and every single match I load in to even after playing like shit for a full day my champion team is a full pred or master squad. It gets exhausting to have to sweat my ass off every match I play.

Match making (in my opinion) should based off K/d and I bit of lvl. If someone just started the game and has a 5 k/d it would put them in other lobbies with that same k/d but still low lvl.
In higher lvl, it would take the kd and lvl, and put them a lobby with similar kd and lvl
But that would encourage smurfing even more, maybe just do kd
No. This is SBMM what you are describing.
Public CASUAL playlists have to be RANDOM.
Match anyone together without a fucking algorithm to rigg matches.

I don't think I've ever seen a game do this. Basing it off of performance instead of account level means that smurfing should be non existant

You’ll reach a point where you really are playing against players who are about your skill level.
bruh how can you say s14 ranked is good when in plat 1 you get paired with average joe and the minute you hit diamond 4 you get n.11 predator...
i played ranked in order to escape masters/plats/preds from quick game(my level is bronze) and they're still here, i simply cannot escape the bullshitery of this game
