Some wiring harnesses come with a parking brake (light green wire) and a reverse gear signal input (light purple and white wire) to connect to these systems…where is the parking brake switch wire located to connect? Some people show how to bypass and ground everything instead of doing the proper wiring. Do you have a video on that?
So it looks like you didn't end up pulling the yellow connectors through the tailgate rubber wire tubing and into the back of the car. You mention in the video that you will do that but it might be more difficult, and then your later video shows that they haven't been pulled through. But the other wires have. The single red wire that comes out of the red and white spliced wires (around 5:13 in the vid) and goes to the power... did you provide this wire or did this come with the camera? I don't see it earlier in the video. I have another kind of camera that I've just got and I cannot seem to get it installed and no videos are helpful and there were no instructions. I'm considering sending it back and getting the one you use in this video, but I'm confused on the single red power wire. You bought and added or it came with the camera. I also have an Element and the camera I bought has a wire that is too short to run from the tailgate, through the grommet / tubing, and into the back of the car, and then up to the reverse lights.
Thanks for the vid! I just ordered a camera. It comes with an 18.5’ video cable and a 1.5’ power wire. Guessing I will need to order some more of each?
I have fix my atto so can get power off oem set from previous owner had shitty install been using Cigarette lighter power switch still can’t get sound not sure if the speakers are blown
Awesome vid bud. I have a 10.2 in Android too, T'EYEs brand though with reverse camera. Your videos gave me an idea on tackling that job. Recommend some waterproof heat shrink on the connectors.
excellent, video i have a 2003 Element and been thinking about putting in a backup camera ever since i used my neighbors Acura SUV that had a backup camera in it . i'm curious about your sound system and i see you have another video for that so i'll check it out thanks
I’m not real sure what you’re asking, I have a few videos on wiring for this, maybe this will help ruclips.net/video/TtXZGPLuqro/видео.htmlsi=64FuzwIj32krgjcq
Hi Danny, I have the same unit after install everything when i switch to reverse, the unit dont witch over to reverse camera mode. Did u have the problem
@dannysdiygarage I think so. On the back where the backup camera plug-in the Yellow plug, there are 3 wire. The red one is 12v power, which I connected with the backup camera wire. The other 2 are ground and brake. Did you have to connect the ground and brake the wire?
@@Silenceplz595as I remember on the back of the unit you’ll connect the video cable that’s the RCA plug. There’s only one other wire to connect, and that is a signal wire with 12volts coming from the reverse lights, no brake wire needed, if you want to call me tomorrow I’m okay with that, do you live in the USA
@dannysdiygarage Thanks, Danny. I finally got it to work. I have the same unit for my element, but the harness for the backup camera are different. Mine have 3 wire alone with the backup camera rca input( 12v trigger switch, ground, and brake). I decided to use another 12v power switch wire from the main harness, and it works. Thank you for all your reply. I appreciate it
Hey Danny, I need your help to identify the correct wire harness adapter for the 2007 Honda Element SC, I am about to buy this radio in Amazon "Leadfan Double Din Car Stereo with Apple CarPlay and Android auto 7" Full HD Touchscreen Car Radio Bluetooth, Car Stereo with backup Camera, support Mirror link, steering Wheel USB/AUX/Subwoofer" I greatly appreciated your help.
Agreed, it’s a lot of work to do it right, most would just tuck wires under carpet and headliner, I’m going to redo this soon with a more advanced camera
The best on routing and wiring the back up camera wire. I have a different model, style but this part is the same
I did the same on my 10' Civic. I mated it to a Chinese dashcam I bought off Amazon. Fairly easy install. I basically did the same as you.
Did everything work out for you, I’m loving mine
make sure you have good warranty
Yes I pulled it through the pass through in the rubber, it wasn’t easy but doable
This video is amazing, great help installing my back up camera
I watch your video repeatedly 🤙

Yes I had to add wires to extend
@@dannysdiygarageThanks!

Excellent job explaining the routing of the wire! Did choosing the driver side have any advantage over the passenger side?
The wires for this camera have plugs on them, and I'm not sure how I'm gonna get that through the grommet.
What does it make of your radio you have in your element very nice 3🚙🚗👌🏾
Idoing ,f follow the ink in the description for the install video

Back up cameras are nice
Hi Danny! Did you plug the white wire called « Trigger », who’s hooked up at the end where the yellow plug that plugs in the headunit?

Does the head end unit automatically switch to camera when the camera gets power from the reverse light?
That’s correct 👍🏼

No, are you sure you got it hooked up right

What exactly do you need from me
Is there plan to install it on your civic?
I’m currently in the process of adding a backup camera in the Civic, the video should be out soon.
Is there not a back camera that's a plug & play without all that splicing of wires? I'm really bad at all that. I don't get what u just did? 🤔
Plug and play
What kind of android device is that
here is the install video with all the information ruclips.net/video/TtXZGPLuqro/видео.htmlsi=7va1nr5Xmmxe4why
Go with wireless 2.4gh it's so much better no taking everything apart
Nope...Not taking 3 hours and Dismantle the car when It's Simple to take the Rear break light out and connect
1% of people have their Interior removed...This isnt Practical
