    Great review thank you. The only feature missing from this on the fly fine adjustment clasp so that you don’t need any tools. That is a critical feature when your wrist expands in humid temperatures.

    I have one problem with what is an exceptional watch.
    No matter how much enthusiasts might deny it, there's a part of buying a watch that is down to image and status.
    This Oris is to all intents, identical to the standard Aquis.
    Usually, the premium price is justified by case polish, the quality of the bracelet etc...but this does not apply here.
    The mechanism and performance of the watch is really good, but if I'm paying a premium price, I'm going to want a premium looking product. I'm not sure if I could justify paying the extra, no matter how good it's mechanical heart may be....but it's a really interesting watch.

    • @rossdev
      @rossdev 3 года назад

      Have to agree with this as much as I like Oris as a brand. I think the stock Aquis is a good value proposition if you can buy it with a decent AD discount. I've owned 4 different Aquis (and 2 Oris chronos) in the past, but have now sold them all and moved on to other brands since. I'm generally only interested in their limited editions these days, I particularly like the Aquis Whale Shark GMT.

    • @watchdogpodcast239

      I agree. The price kind of shocked me. Great watch, but I no thanks at that price. I've handled several watches from the brand but never owned one. I guess it will be an older model if I ever take the plunge.

    Love the watch but for $3500.00 whatever quirk was going on with caliber 400 better have been resolved. If I set the time and push the crown in, it better not jump. The consumer should not have to do a "quick fix" just to set the time.

      Tried the 41,5mm out at the Boutique, both watches had the jumping hand issue. Maybe it'll get sorted at one point. I've only ever had one watch with a similar problem, my Sinn 6000, but that only moved maybe half a minute.

    • @malkinmalone
      @malkinmalone 2 года назад

      It appears that if you wear the watch for like a week and hack the movement to re sync the time the movement also jumps when you stop the movement. Normally someone would just pull the crown and wait 10 or 15 seconds or whatever it takes and push the crown back in. Now you have to re set the time on this watch.

    Nice one Rob. Thank you for reviewing with the spin back time adjust to allay fears of the time jump and your are right this is probably the best way to set any watch as it takes up all the gear slack when you pop the crown back in. In 41.5mm I think I have to take a look. In the video the green would take pole position but it would be good to compare it side by side with the blue. As an independent manufacturer ORIS would have invested a fortune in this watch movement and for that combined with a 10 year service and warranty they must be pretty confident. Well done to ORIS.

    Is it just me or does the date window treatment look better on the cheaper SW-200 equipped Aquis models? They have a lumed hour marker on the date window. You spend the extra dough to buy the in-house version and just get a naked date window with a dot of lume.

    I don’t understand the the hype with oris ! Yes they make decent watches ( I have two ) both run way to slow, I would never buy another oris watch, I have many other watch brands that are a lot better value for money and built just as good and even better in most cases. Sorry oris fans but way overpriced for what you get
