I find myself bringing out my Kyosho 4Runner and defender more often than my scx24s or Trx4ms. I don't know if it's the smaller size or the amazing bodies but I just love running the miniz4x4
That's cool to hear. We are going to give all of ours another shot. I also saw that new off-road looking Jeep they came out with and it has my interest as well
@@CCxRC yeah I want to get the green one. I threw on the brass knuckles, oil filled shocks and RC4wd wheels and tires and now it's a beast. I don't mind the AAA either. They have a long runtime.
@@GraveDigger78 wich oil filled shocks did you put ? i have bought 3 or 4 different ones and all of them are bad for different reasons. Too Stiff in genersl, loosing all oil in a day etc.
I have one of these, simply couldn't resist and love it for all the reasons in the video. Really getting down close and thinking scale is a different kind of fun than my scx24's or 1/10 crawlers and it's nice to mix it up like that occasionally.
Couldn't agree more! The fun is had when you push any of them at the edge of their limits. Once you know what that is, set up your courses for it and have a blast.
Tenavolts rechargable lithium batteries have been awesome for my mini z. 1.5v per cell. Consistent power all the way to the end and runtime is more than fine for a session or 2. I’m also in Virginia. Richmond area. So happy to support.
I am with you I really like the D90 Look. This thing has a great look to it and it Crawled GREAT. As expected that Top heaviness is not a surprise. Brass will help a lot
Won't someone think of the steering servo? Lol Joke, but seriously the stock servo isn't up to the added weight. I added bead lock alloys with chunkier rubber and the servo had a minor stroke... didn't like (couldn't make) full lock with the added heft. But still could in reverse... odd. Back on the stock tread now, zero issues
Thank you for the video ! I love the D90 look as well I have been looking at this same one or the RC4WD 1/18 Gelande II RTR w/D90 as my possible next RC Scale build.
I love the scale rigs man....... I got the orange and white K5 FMS coming can't wait Great video by the way man..........love when the tire is HIGH FIVEIN it......lol awesome lil rig......I wanted to get the lil Yoda one
Great vid. Have the 4Runner myself, heaps of fun. Good NIMH batteries definitely make a difference. Added an alloy steering link, threaded body oil shocks and lights. Quite the difference. But yes, the batteries do sit a bit high in the chassis... an issue with all Mini Z but the EVO RWD chassis.
I love my heritage D90, super scale and yet it’s an RC. I added some wheel brass and changed to a torquey motor. I wish the servo was slower though, which would make it have more torque. But I still love it.
I believe kyosho claims the mini z 4x4 are 1/28 scale..maybe 1/27.5..I have watched different videos where mini-z are compared to scx24 Not really a fair comparison. With my home-made obstacles the mini z worked a little harder but could do the same lines any of my 1/24s were doing. Quality of kyosho bodies makes tumble wumbles a little more disappointing
Horizon Hobby has the specs listed as 1/28. On the Kyosho page for this vehicle I went to the specs and it said 1/24. I went with what the manufacturer listed it as. I would never compare this to an SCX24 as equals as they are built for different purposes. I would tell people that want to make theirs comp vehicles to get an SCX24 over this. I like the idea of comping with trucks with scale wheels and tires with hard bodies. The courses can still be challenging, but within the bounds of what is challenging given the vehicle.

@@turbocrash9373 I have the hot racing ones which are a little stiff and the Kyosho ones. I used shock slime and don't have leaks after that
@@GraveDigger78 cool, thx 👌🏻👍🏻 have the kyosho ones too, will try that
Love that the rim color is the same as the body color. Really liking it. Thanks for the great job sharing this!!
Best thing about mini scale? No long walk of shame when it turtles!
That looks amazing.

I am planning to buy her. Kyosho is always gorgeous 😍

@@davesawell5584 Very good point. Upgrades are fine but it just moves the issue further up the chain. ;) So a servo would defintely be needed imo

way more capable than I thought it would be. Nice work and such a sweet looking rig! Nice addition to your mini collection!
Such a sweet cool lil rig. scale points there lol
The defender and Toyota pickup look awesome

Wow...molto realistico ...bel video... ciao dall'Italia
Love the d90 😍👍🔥🔥🔥
Wow looks pretty awesome, yeah I hate a fast reverse, well I have to head for work in a few minutes I’ll have to finish watching when I get home
Are those mini z's waterproof? Can they be with the aaa batteries?
Cool I wanted to get one of these but needed a good review awesome 👌
1st. This thing looks killer
That is an awesome little rig... only other people I've seen run them are RC Sparks and RC Athlete did a few Mini Z comp...
is this the same thing as a miniZ 4runner other than body?
Pretty cool little truck, the fcx24 k5 blazer is getting released soon an I got 2 on the way, they look amazing

Oh, and a metal steering rod too.
Added lights too, takes it too another level. Looks so good.
Just like real rigs, gotta think before you drive. I can run these mini-zs on my table for hours.
now i want the Kyosho Mini Z monster truck. remember those?
I have the silver anniversary one
Do you have the mini z 4runner? If you do, how does it compare? Great videos, keep them coming.
Nice it looks pretty cool 👍 what terrain is that?
It will be mine, oh yes... it will be mine.
You would try mini z buggy running on the crawling course. haha
Add lights. I love mine
👍
