I bought the Peninsula on a whim as an upgrade for my freshwater tank because the size was absolutely perfect. The sump setup is far more complicated than I need for a boring little fresh tank, but I'm now excited at the possibility of transitioning to a salt tank someday! And oh my god, it is the nicest tank I've ever owned
Thanks fellas for the videos and the information about the Max series. I ordered the Max Peninsula w/white cabinet. The tank will be here in a few days. I have waited 18 years to get an aquarium like this. I am looking forward to it for. Sure,
Hi Rick, Overall I am very happy with the Peninsula. I think overall it is a very good system. The small ATO reservoir is frustrating just because of the size. I am using a 5gal. container and a Tunze ATO. So much better. Just do to the size of the tank “water parameters” always a concern. The tank has started to grow coraline algae so that is a positive. The tank has probably has 80% LPS, 8% SPS and 10% Soft in it and 5 fish. I have had wins and losses that is for sure. I posted some pics in Reef2Reef also under Brian Berry.
@@Redseafish thats why he said adding an optional sump upgrade, if someone wants that size tank with a sump and you refuse to offer it just because you want people to only buy your tank for a specific reason people are just gonna shop somewhere else.
@@Redseafish I don't think it's a bit much if i bought one i would drill it and sump it myself. But in the other hand i could get a much cheaper tank to drill and sump

Nooo....24" is literally the perfect size!!! Once you get above 30" it's not a nano tank anymore. Then you also start running into lighting and flow problems too. You can't even use a single arm light mount on a 30" peninsula tank.
@@jkelley1263 yeah man, its what makes the world go round lol....I hear you, but it's not about limiting your dreams, I'm just sayin everything changes when tanks are more than 24" deep, aesthetics and function change dramatically, from lighting to the placement of powerheads and you also lose the form and function of a plug n play system...but that's just my 2 cents lol.
I always thought smaller tanks were worse for first timers because the swings in salinity and nutrients is so much more than in a bigger tank. In a Bigger tank the more diluted everything is.
This is very ideal for me. Downsizing my tank as I'm gng to a new place. However how do we introduce a chiller? For eg. A teko tk150 which should be ideal for such tanks. Doesnt look like there's a good pick and return point for the water.
Awesome! Is there a chance you'll make aquarium covers that completely cover the top? I don't mean mesh but solid covers. With a water obsessed cat it's a problem.
Love the design of these tanks! Planning to pick one up in the future, but I live in an area that gets very warm (90-95 degrees in worst cases). Any suggestions for chillers or ways to cool this specific peninsula tank? I saw another comment asking about chillers and saw you said that retrofitting the tank/removing the ato is necessary. Is there any work around to this? Thanks!

Setting up my new 26g peninsula its very nice however there is no cover provided for the impeller end of the return pump, is one required? Of course it works fine so I am starting it up. Thanks.
Probably not, we have so many models and the DIY Netscreen requires some work but is a cost effective solution. For the smaller tanks a little rectangle is pretty easy to make.
Hey, I’ll be setting up either a 48x24x24 inch 120 gallon tank or a 60x24x24 inch 150 gallon tank. It will be a mixed reef tank, and I was wondering if I can light these tanks with the Red Sea reef 90 lights? And if so how many will I need? I also plan on changing it to a sps dominated tank, so how many lights would I need then for 4 foot and the 5 foot tank?
For a 48"X24"X24" you will need 2 RL90s and for the 60" 3 RL90s. You can see the recommended specs for the REEFER XL425 and XL525 which have similar dimensions. Or the "Recommended usage by tank size" table here: www.redseafish.com/hardware/lighting/
When we asked for fish to volunteer for the video they all jumped in. They all wanted to shimmer in the spotlight. They are all back to their homes in the big tanks around the office now. Long term we do recommend keeping less fish. Thanks for noticing.
We film at mostly white with a slight touch of blue (just so it doesn't burn the image) To grow we use any of the presets on the program library (100%B and whatever white that the owner likes)
@@Redseafish Thanks for the reply! Are you saying to use a single pump to pump water into the chiller and the return from the chiller goes directly to the nozzle? Also, is this product out in Singapore yet? :)

Would you ever make a MAX NANO shallow tank?
Never say never. We listen to your feedback all the time.
I really like the idea of a MAX NANO shallow tank too
Love the ATO design very cool. I might buy one of these for my little brother.
Awesome. What a great brother you are.
Love these thanks I would love to see a optional sump upgrade or made with sump option that would be amazing
That's a bit much, isn't it? You want to be able to put it on any counter top or spot. That would restrict the versatility.

Will the gap fit a typical 1/2 inch or 3/4 connection bracket? Would redsea have an option to purchase this ?

There's no need for one as there's a pre-filter sponge protecting the pump.
Like if you think all tanks should come with lids as standard
Hi, the bubble trap sponge is to be wash everytime? And how do I wash it? And wouldn’t washing it make the beneficial bacteria be gone?
You should wash it regularly as part of your maintenance. The bacterial loss in negligible.

Will you ever make matching tank mesh covers for these tanks?

Does the reefled50 run off the same power station as the skimmer and pump or does it need its own power supply?
It runs on the app and has it's own power supply.
Does this actually have everything you need besides stocking? If I'm new to reefing, would this be good for a beginner or too complex?
You got mostly everything. You might need to add a heater\chiller depending on what area you live in.

Hi, will there be space for another pump in the chamber for a chiller return?
It's going to be a tight fit. You can place a pump pushing water and returning it directly to the nozzle.
@@Redseafish Thanks for the reply! Are you saying to use a single pump to pump water into the chiller and the return from the chiller goes directly to the nozzle? Also, is this product out in Singapore yet? :)
This is one way to do it. Please contact your local RS dealer for product availability.
waiting for the pricetag.
it starts at $799 for the Cube and $899 for the Peninsula.
When is it gonna be available to buy?
It should be available in most major markets within the next couple of weeks. Check with your local Red Sea Dealer, you might be pleasantly surprised.
Where do I place my heater? I have been recommended a Aqua ultra 1000
You can place it in the back chamber under the skimmer\media chamber, see the illustration on our website.

The size. But the concept is the same. (some minor features are a bit different)
