THANKS! I heard this on LLT but lost my cassette. This is probably the last interview before he stopped recording. The Lisa Robinson one from August' 80 is great too! I hope one day we'll get the entire Playboy and Rolling Stone in full audio. The "Rolling Wings"
My generation was traumatized by John's murder. I was traumatized by JFK's assassination when I was 5 and Lennon's at 22. That ended both the counter culture and my youth. Younger people will never understand the 60's & 70's. Very unique zeitgeist. You had to be there to get it.
I would have wanted to meet Mr John Lennon and get to hang out with him because he seems like a fun person . Hang out and listen to music and Beatle music too but He probably wouldn't hear his own and Beatle music we'd smoke a joint and talk about politics and relationships in general Beatle fan forever and a Day Night Evening and Afternoon and Morning
So Yoko hadn't heard of the Beatles? Not even when she had previously walked in on a Beatle session (that John wasn't present) asking Paul for manuscripts towards a collection she was gathering as a birthday gift to John Cage?.. I smell BS.. and Clairols 'erbal essence
Elliot Mintz really shouldn't have asked if John and Yoko had a preference for a girl or a boy, the most important thing is every person is a unique individual person and both Yoko and John were feminists. And Yoko had been a feminist who rejected sexist gender roles and gender stereotypes for years before she and John met and John learned that from her. And this is what really enabled him to become psychologically liberated and freed him up to become the pro-feminist nurturing house husband and father to Yoko and their son Sean.
Love John, and Yoko, but I’m sorry….i don’t believe Sean just happened to be born, by cesarean section, no less, on the exact same day as John….i just do not believe it. Everyone knows that you can, and often do, select a date to have a cesarean section, unless it is an emergency, in which case it is done immediately. They went to the hospital the day before, on the 8th, and were there for quite some time/many many hours before Sean was born, at 2 am the next day on the 9th. I think she was admitted on the 8th, the day before, got settled in, and then they waited until it was the 9th to have the baby by cesarean section.
Hard to believe he was embarrassed about his performance on Twist and Shout. It’s one of the best rock and roll vocals of all time.
It’s even one of Lennon’s better than average vocals
My all time favorite Beatles song! Twist and Shout❤

It makes me so sad that he said he would tell us what song he didn't like in 1990, but never lived long enough to keep that promise.
Blame the jerk of all jerks
It almost feels eery in a way. He said he would tell us but died 10 years before then.

And still Clairol Herbal Essence disappeared into oblivion. Just goes to show. Annoying advertising can have a negative impact.

Listening to this tape is like rediscovering an old friend.i listened to all of the LLT's.Thank you for doing this.
He is so awesome, such a creative force-- we'll get back together as the Beatles to save the planet but not for money❤
It's so sad hearing John alive and well and even more lovingly talking to his infant son Sean.

“That must’ve been when I was getting positive,”
LOL
Wow 1976 I was only 3 years old at the time love to hear John Lennon when he was 36 years old
John turned 35 October 9th 1975.
And I was 2, ready for my little head to be Beatled up.
Nice to hear john speak fast forwarded the yoko bits
John's father died on April first 1976 which was my 11th birthday and Paul McCartney also released Silly Love Songs that day too
I HIGHLY recommend reading "Daddy Come Home" by Pauline Lennon
just nine days after Paul McCartney's father Jim McCartney died.
It's only love is my fav Beatles song lol.

Can’t believe on 76 people viewed this
And 5 months later, a mere 541. Says a lot about the people who surround us. Too busy watching kids lip sync on tik tok.
If only I knew the Earth News Radio sponsor who brought this to us...🙄
Cool interview

Thank you so much for that... And to return the favor, I HIGHLY recommend reading "Daddy Come Home" by Pauline Lennon
Very nice. Eliot Mintz is the interviewer.
“It’s Only Love” is a great song! Sorry, John, but you’re wrong! ❤
if i hear clairol herbal essence shampoo and cream rinse one more time im gonna crap!
I don’t believe Elliot is authentic; especially his assessments of Yoko 🤷♂️
i’ve got to try me some of that clairol herbal essence shampoo
Elliot Mintz: Paid-publicity-spin-doctor-opportunist-extraordinaire!
As it were or as it should be, perhaps or perhaps not but ONLy on the Lost Lennon Tapes (please read in Mintz tones)
Eliot Mintz' LLT was a more hi quality show than than commercialized non musical bites "for clairol"
Lennon HATED "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" - calling it "the song that broke up the Beatles."
I think "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" (which required take-after-take-after-take) was Lennon's 2nd most-hated Beatles song).
I heard him say they all hated Maxwell Silverhammer except Paul
@@delainepep22 True..

Yes a nice combination of Yoko BS, Shampoo, rinse, repeat
You can see her reading "beatles complete" during the Get Back sessions. She was dedicated to the bullshitting
I suddenly feel the need to wash my hair with Clairol Herbal Essence Shampoo, and I don't know why.
Wait, please, I didn’t catch the name of that shampoo. Mind repeating it, thank you.
For some reason I have the overwhelming desire to wash my hair

Elliot Mintz talks more than John Lennon in this stunningly annoying edit of a very cool interview.
I heard it was “Birthday” that he disliked.
Yeah he didn't care for "Birthday" at all. Between that and "Maxwell," which no one but Paul liked, It's got to be one of those two.
@@bradparker9664 The one he didn’t like was “It’s Only Love” from the Help album. He said it was embarrassing particularly the lyrics.
