ABOUT ME
I’m 31 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 600 breeding ewes.
I shore over 15,000 sheep this season in UK and I also travel to Norway for shearing in March and September. (Covid messed it up this year)
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on RUclips and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Thanks for watching my videos and please subscribe if you want to see more in future.
OMG that was priceless. This should be on BBC for all to see! I'm sure you could get acting jobs, Cammie, you're definitely talented. You definitely did well by Burns.
Thanks so much!! Appreciate all the kind comments!
I didn’t realize til your recitation that I share a birthday with Robert Burns! Thanks for the wonderful poem . You are wonderful!
This is amazing. Well done Cammie.
iBien hecho, compadre! Well done, mate!
This was wonderful. You have an amazing talent for recitation
I have to admit Cammy, even though I'm a Scot born and bred, that's the first time I've ever heard it all the way through. Thank you young man. 👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏
Wonderful! I’m a 78 year old Canadian who was raised by parents who lived in the times that recitals and elocution were how they entertained themselves and others. My Mom and Dad loved Burns, Robert Service, Kipling, etc. and your lovely performance takes me back to sharing their joy as they recited any number of interesting pieces. Thanks for the journey to my youth.
Outstanding, Cammy! An inspired recital! The stage has another talent! I don’t blame ye for naught having sheep around. It would have scared the living daylights out of them!
I speak American English and tried to keep up with the subtitles as best I could. I so much enjoyed it in Scottish… going to have listen and watch several time.
This was delightful! Thank you so much--I wouldn't mind seeing more like this in the future. You've got a gift for bringing the poetry to life!
This was the highlight of my day! Thanks, Cammy for such an animated, engaging rendition. I absolutely love how you incorporate Scottish history and culture along with the Sheep game. I may never be lucky enough to leave my corner of the world. But by watching your videos I feel like I have.
Thanks Stacey! Glad u enjoyed a wee change from the usual!
You have a real gift Cammie! I never liked poetry in school but no one ever read it like you just did. This is so enjoyable I would love more stories like this!
This is Robert Burns. His poetry legendary. Also Edgar A Poe.
Bravo! As an old high school drama and speech teacher in the U S, I'd say you had excellent delivery and gestures perfected to tell the tale. Did you ever expect to do this poem outside, on a pasture trail with the sheep to hear and a camera set up to blast this talent over the You Tubes? Ah, life is grand and your interpretation of Burns' poem helps make it so. Thank you. Well done. A +.
What a treat.
Thanks Rose. That’ll be my first ever A+ 😂😁
What a treat, best Robert Burns tribute I've ever seem. Cheers.
I watched and listened with increasing awe. Burns as he should be delivered. Brilliant and perfect.
Thanks Andrea!
Beautiful just beautiful. Did you notice the partial rainbow 🌈 over your left shoulder. In the poem you mentioned a rainbow disappearing in the storm ⛈ your rainbow also disappeared into the dark clouds/storm rolling in. Gave me goosebumps. You are a great story teller. I love 💗 you & your family. TU for the entertainment. 😘
Mrs H
I noticed that magical rainbow 🌈 as well.
It was such a nice day!
That’s a real tour de force, Cammy! I think you’ve missed your true calling. Though I love poetry, I never really “got” Burns because of the dialect. But hearing it recited AND seeing it performed (and with subtitles) made it come alive to me, and make sense to me, in a way not possible by reading strange words on the page. Literature teachers the world over are going to be sharing this video with their classes for sure! Thank you so much for an unexpected treat that brightened up a cold, dreary day!❤️❤️❤️
You are a gentleman and a scholar, Cammie! Thanks for that! Well done!!
What a pleasure! What a performance! It Should go viral and touch the world! For myself, it has been a few years since I have celebrated Burns Night, eaten haggis, listened to Burn’s poetry, and heard my husband play the pipes. I have missed it so much. But Cammy, there are no words that describe my gratitude to you for making my heart sing again.
Thanks so much Patricia you are very kind!
my god the hand gestures and the face expressions oh and all those different tones of voice that you used was amazing all threw reciting tam o'shanter.
WOW!! That was an amazing performance. Well done!! So interesting to see the English translation while hearing the Scottish. I think I'll watch it again. Fun!
I just fell in love with Scotland all over again, and that was absolutely AMAZING!!! I bet your kids get the best bedtime stories ever!!!!
This is what America is missing..... This rich appreciation for it's roots and legacies
Good gracious man!!! Well done! Well done! That was a great rendition for the celebration of Robert Burn's birthday. Thanks for captioning it.
This was absolutely amazing cammy!! You done Scotland and rabbie proud. Happy burns to you and your lovely wee family from a Falkirk lass x 🏴
Wow-o-wow!!!!!!!! Cammy!!! That was epic!!! You are so animated, your expressions, you brought it to life like I've never seen before. You are a born entertainer. I do confess I had to slow the speed to hear and read it. OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!! You are a pure joy! Thank you for that!
Great recital, and thank-you for the English sub titles. Although the original language was much more lyrical.
That put a Smile on my Face! I could picture it all, you have a Blessed, Happy Spirit About You, Young Cammy! Thank You
Thanks Denise!!
I’m not Scottish, but I absolutely loved this !!! Spent a lot of time working in west Scotland on burns night, but never lucky enough to hear something as genuine as this. Think you’ve found your calling Cammie 👍👍👍👍
Cam that was just glorious! Thank you so much for this reading. You are a natural orator and a pleasure to listen to. I have listened to you several times and was charmed over again. You are a very talented young man. Hugs to you and family. 🇨🇦
Greetings from cold, snowy Fleur Creek Farm in Colorado! Your performance was masterful! All the laughter warmed me up. My Scot granny would be very proud of you!! Well done!
That was a wild ride! So much fun and well presented. I was so into the story!!!
I'd never heard Tam'o'shanter before and I was delighted by your dramatization. You conveyed Robert Burns's culture very well!
If this is not picked up and given the "Robert Burns" award or something..a fantastic performance! Thank you!
Wow truly outstanding. I remember doing Burns recitals at school but there’s no way I could have remembered all of that! fantastic Cammy.
My first home as a babe was Mauchline(before we moved to Glasgow when I was about 9 months) we lived next to Poosie Nancys. As you’ll know that’s where him and Nancy were married in the Kirk. Always loved Butns poems and songs and great to hear it in a local dialect.
That was amazing, awesome, fantastic! Cammy, your talents are many! Thanks so much for the reading! Happy Robert Burns Day! Thanks, I have to go watch that again!
Excellent delivery! I enjoyed watching this. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Been to many burns suppers over the years and witnessed lots of good recitals of Tam O Shanter, this is up there with the best of them, well done
I watched twice read the words and secondly watch your actions while told the story. Wonderful video. Thank you. I even shared.
Absolutely brilliant Cammie. You have hidden talents!
That was truly amazing! Your inflection and actions made the tale come alive!!! Well done Cammy!
WOW!!! How incredibly well recited and animated. You are so talented!! Thank you for that 💙
That was lovely. And we’ll remembered. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I LOVE IT!!!!! WOW! Is there anything you cannot do, Cammy? Talent, hard work, character, and a smile that never ends. I have to watch it again and again. What an inspiration you are!
Thanks so much! I love performing this!

My mother in law was Scottish and our son was born on the 26th well just he was born at 12.07 am haha and because he didn't arrive on burns night his grandma asked us to call him Callum to keep with the Scottish names she called her son's. I'm English and swear I must have spent too much time with my mother in law before she passed as I could understand everything you was saying. Happy burns night xx
You are quite wonderful story teller. So much fun to hear the tale as it was originally told.
Wow I am so impressed. Watched mesmerized. How fantastic you remember all that. I am blown away here. Wonderful performance!!!!
Thankyou Cammy. That was terrific. A fitting Birthday present for Robert Burns, and also myself. Very well done.
Well done! Burns would have been honored by your rendition. A man of many talents Cammy. Enjoyed that very much. Enjoyed a peek at the rainbow as well.
Beautiful and you gave it life, please do more of them, I loved your way of bringing them to life
This is the most spectacular thing of 2022 so far! Thank you so much Cammie! :D
I have just listened to your rendition of Tam O’Shanter. It is truly masterful. I wish you would do more like this. You have an incredible talent Cammie.
Brilliant!! I studied this poem at school but you've brought it to life. Well done, Cammie.
That was fabulous! And living near the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, I’ll never be able to look at it the same way again - I had no idea about its naming!
Well done. The finest production of Tam O'shanter I have ever heard.
Nothing less than awesome! I wish I could have some haggis today in tribute, alas, I’ll have to wait a few months to partake. Thank you for such a wonderful performance.
Cammie thank you so much!! That was absolutely delightful ❤😊
Robert Burns is one of my favorite poets. Your telling of Tam o’ Shanter was phenomenal, and, for me, an absolute treat to hear in a Scottish brogue. 😊 Best wishes from Alabama, USA
Happy Burns Day ! That was great. You are really talented in many ways.
That was AWESOME! Thank God for the subtitles! Even so, this yankee barely followed the story BUT your performance of whatever the heck that was, was AMAZING! If the sheep game stumbles (heaven forbid!), you've got a future as an orator/actor!
Fantastic job, and a special thanks to you for taking the time to put in the subtitles for us! You are incredibly entertaining! Love your channel, continued blessings for you and yours.
Actually a poem by Robert Burns! How nicely told! I really like it.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wonderful performance! You are a fantastic bard! Thank you for this!
Bright Blessings
Happy Birthday! For certain you’ve missed another calling. You should be on a stage! And thanks for the translation but I still missed a bit. Worth rewatching! Have actually memorized that whole story? My daughter has an audition for a theater program this week and I’ll have her watch this vid for inspiration for her monologue. So many thanks for posting this. (And did you plan that rainbow in the beginning of the vid?)
I didn’t notice it, thanks for pointing that out really special that you saw that! So cool!
Yeah I know it by heart but it’s a lot easier when you know the story. It all flows together.
Cammy you have a gift for making the poetry live. Thank you so much. ❤️❤️
Love your poetry reading! Love to see some in the future! 🐑
Fantastic! A perfect example of why I like Scotland dearly.
Fab Cammy! Thank you for showing me the delights of Burns’ work. The rendition was a delight and translation so helpful in understanding why people love his work. 🥰

MAGNIFICENT! And a rainbow over your left shoulder! I will keep this forever,
Wow just wow, you are a very proud, talented Scots man.
That was AWESOME!!!! Good recitation of a wonderful poem. You did a fantastic job. Thanks.
Thanks Jeannine!
I had to watch this twice - 1 to watch your storytelling & 2 to read the words.
❤️🔥 THANK YOU‼️
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to this I wish you would repeat such renditions on every great poet’s birthday.
Sheer pleasure & what a recital Cammy. Just loved it. You've definitely got many talents. 👏👏

Thanks George i really appreciate that!
Love it. Love and hugs from that Grand Lady in New Mexico USA. May God Bless you and your family.
Thank you for this recitation. It makes Burns Day so much better. Have a wee dram for me. Alas, I can no longer imbibe. 🥃🏴🇨🇦
Extremely well done! You are a natural and I bet you could be an actor.
I've listened to you do Tam O'Shanter's tale only about half dozen times and can't get enough. As I listen, I can picture drunken ol' Tam on the road. You did such an amazing job animating this poem that I want to listen to it again and again. So, from a Polish lass to a Scotsman so far away, thank you for bringing Robert Burn's words to my world.
Wow. Loved that comment Maxine thanks so much!
Marvellous! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks Cammy
👍👍❤️😁
Happy Robbie Burns Day!
Wow! That was a treat. Thank you.
Absolutely wonderful to hear how is should be recited. Thanks.

Thanks Shelia! I’ll get another one lined up for next year😁
I really enjoy watching your videos. You are quite a talented young man. Bravo! Much love from Texas
Cammy, you were made for this! BRAVO!
Wow! Just WOW! I never experienced Burns in Scottish. Thank you for the subtitles. Well done.
A wonderful recital my friend. In my 7th and 8th grade years of elementary svhool, I had a Scott woman, Sister Elizabeth as a teacher. And a great one she was. In her family she was the only girl with 8 brothers. Quite the tomboy. Beat us all at all our playground games. She had us read this poem, and helped us work out the meaning of the words unfamiliar to our ears. Hearing it again, after 60 years, and done so well too, l really brought back great memories. Thank you lad.
Thank you SO MUCH FOR the subtitles!!! You are a GEM! And thank you for the fantastic performance.
Amazing! Thank you for the subtitles. I truly enjoyed this video.
Omg well done Cammy! Oh how incredible you are. I absolutely loved it and thank you for doing it with your beautiful accent a-blazing! So very well done, Burns would have been proud! Thank you.
FANTASTIC!! Read the subtitles the first time (thank you for including these for those of us across the pond) This left me to opportunity to be thoroughly entertained by watching you the second time around. Cheers to both Robert Burns...and you!!
I've never heard the full poem until today and I watched you perform without understanding a lick of it for the full go and was surprised at how much I understood (being half a Celt m'self!) Then I watched it again while reading the subtitles and I was almost more entertained by watching it just seeing it pure the way it was meant. Bravo man! I am thoroughly pleased and honored to have been witness to such a great artist and I will admit to thinking on how Lizzy must have felt to have been bedeviled by your wily ways and intense charms when you were both young.
Oh, the drama! That was wonderful! Really enjoyed the tale and the telling. Thank you!
That was brilliant Cammie. You are a man of many talents. Thanks for the subtitles. Belated Happy Burns day 💕
What a fantastic performance!
Greetings from a lad from France.
Holy Shit!! That was AMAZING!!! I loved it!! You are so very talented, with dashing good looks!
