I really hope Arlong isn't just going to barge in and kidnap Nami. She should go along voluntarily and "betray" the strawhats. Her whole arc was about her learning to trust and rely on her friends, and it'll kind of ruin that if it becomes a typical damsel in distress situation. Maybe we'll find out that Nami tipped off Arlong to the Strawhats' location so he could help her steal their treasure, and that's why he knew they were at Baratie or something.
100% agree. But I also think it’s a bad choice to have Arlong crew meet the straw hats before the arlong park battle. It really takes away from the whole Luffy not knowing anything and still deciding to help nami. It’s a big character trait for Luffy that is really emphasized at the beginning of the story.

@@aakaash5 That’s kind of my point, in the original Luffy doesn’t have any negative experiences with fishmen. All he knows about them is what zoro’s friends said about the fishmen pirates and Jimbe, that Luffy wasn’t even really paying attention to. He never heard Nami’s story so he doesn’t know what they have done. The first time he sees them he doesn’t even have a reaction because they have never done anything to him. That was important to Luffy’s character, that he basis all his decisions on what’s happening in the moment. He only had problems with them when he found nami crying. If Arlong comes along and bodies them and leaves with Nami or kidnaps her IN MY OPINION that does not emphasize one of Luffy’s most important characteristics to new viewers ie Luffy is a live in the moment type of guy. It could be easy for brand new viewers to see that and think Luffy is trying to get some kind of revenge or he already has problems with fishmen before the Arlong park battle. I get that they can’t adapt the anime/manga 1:1 but these are really important moments that in the anime give us our first real in depth understanding of Luffy’s character and set the tone for the type of MC he would be in the future. But this is all just my opinion, maybe the way they do it turns out to be better, I will just have to wait and see.

I don't think I've been hyped up like this for a live action before ever. No feeling of dread or impending doom. The only one that I've personally seen that I liked was Bleach, and I think this will surpass that easily.
I think what might be inside the sac Zoro is carrying when he gets to the bar could be Mr. 7 actually, since that's when he got to meet Helmeppo and the incident with his pet hapenned.
It would make sense that they show Zoro as a pirate hunter at least once before he joins the crew. 😂 I mean, it's his epithet, but in the manga you never get to see him actually do it. Would be nice if they introduce that aspect of Zoro's past like that.

Imagine if the live action does so well to the point it will attempt to adapt all of One Piece, I can only imagine how Luffy's gears would look irl. Especially Kaido and Big Mom I don't how the producers will pull that off.
Judging by how Alvida, Garp, and Arlong's size are on the regular-ish person's size, I imagine Big Mom and Kaido only being Hagrid-sized (I still wished they could've made the latter three characters appear much bigger using stilts, camera angles, and a bit of sfx).

I want to see how Zoro's swordstyle gets adapted since as far as I know Santoryuu DOES exists in real life, (As in, carrying three swords at your hip) but the third sword is more like a surprise stab if the opponent gets too close and one of your hands is free (I think), also Sanji just yeeting himself or ppl on screen is pretty goofy but perfectly in tone with the series (Wonder how his and Zoro's fights would play out, kicking a sword in real life is way more dificult than in anime)
Not the same size of swords as.. Carrying the Same size of Katana's would... Cause your Cloth wrap to Slip and One katana to slip out.. Or you would mess up your Teeth carrying a average katana with your jaws.. So you either had a Wakizachi (A Small Katana sword used for indoor combat) Or a Actual samurai Dagger as a last defense..

Nah, we're getting one season because it's Netflix. But on a more serious note, it was always clear that some changes was going to have to happen. a 1:1 just wasn't feasable simply due to cartoons not translating to live action in many aspects, especially the way they are serialised. But each time I see more of the show I see both changes I get, some I even aprove of, and a lot of weird changes that seems super unecessary, details missing and the details that are there often feels like the wrong focus, strange changes to characters, their attitude, and disposition, so much good looking costuming yet some parts looks so cheap, like Nami's and Shanks hair, even arguably problematic changes like changing the Nyanban Brothers into the Nyanban Siblings, straight up erasing what is arguably a bit more than simply a crossdressing character, etc. And now, we are seeing massive changes to the story beats. Again, I get it, compromises must be made, cuts have to happen, I never expected the island with the weird beasts or all the constant back and fourth at Arlong Park, I don't expect we'll get all of Buggy's side adventure adapted, I even get having Nami show up and "join in" earlier. But then we see seemingly don't get any Don Krieg as I don't think we ever saw any actor being revealed for him, Arlong show up at Baratie, adding Zoro's fight against the old Mr. 7 that was never shown in the series, signs that Nami's entire arc has possibly been drastically altered. It feels like the focus on what to keep and remove, what to stay true to and what to alter, has been placed really weirdly. I really want this show to be good, as I love One Piece. I mean I really *really* want this show to be good. But the more I see it, the more it feels like a rushed season (8 episodes to get through East Blue? Really?) of a production that misses the point of the source material. It might pull in people that are on the fence on One Piece, I don't think it will pull in anyone who wasn't already at least somewhat interested, and it will lead to further division in the OP community.
Bro luffy seeing zoro I’m action completely ruins the vibe, it was when luffy didn’t kno what type of man zoro was only heard what happened, then helmepo is saying he is gonna execute zoro even tho zoro was honoring a promise and luffy punches helmepo in the face was one of the best scenes in the beginning of one piece, now all that changes with wit bouf ass luffy and somehow coby looks even lamer then in the first manga chapter
It really is a case of missing the point, when it comes to a lot of these characters. It might pull in people that are on the fence on One Piece, I don't think it will pull in anyone who wasn't already at least somewhat interested, and it will lead to further division in the OP community.
Bro luffy seeing zoro I’m action completely ruins the vibe, it was when luffy didn’t kno what type of man zoro was only heard what happened, then helmepo is saying he is gonna execute zoro even tho zoro was honoring a promise and luffy punches helmepo in the face was one of the best scenes in the beginning of one piece, now all that changes with wit bouf ass luffy and somehow coby looks even lamer then in the first manga chapter
It really is a case of missing the point, when it comes to a lot of these characters. It feels like there's been huge changes to them, their attitudes and disposition to reflect some kind of fandom idea of a character, rather than the actual character. Which is weird as one of the things you constantly hear about when it comes to live action One Piece is how Oda apparently was there every step of the way and how nothing was done without his approval. So to see so many deviations, some of them quite large, even when compared to the cast where they currently are and how they have developed, feels very odd.
I still prefer manga, the realistic version looks not good for me.
