This is what a New York pizzeria is all about. Old block, tiny location, red booths, real Italians behind the counter, and amazing food. Old and authentic.
What a beautiful beautiful spot. Right on the sidewalk, the trees, the shade, the passers by, the slightly run down but functional exterior, the sign, the pizza. Man that's Brooklyn.
Well said. So many outsiders have an image of Brooklyn that isn't always flattering, and sometimes it's deserved, but this is the Brooklyn I know and love. I think about family and community more than anything else, and your comment hit the nail on the head.
Same! been in the neighborhood since 2020 and that has always been my favorite spot around. Whenever the big Sicilian guy (Alessandro?) is behind the counter, you know you are going to get a great slice/pie. Me and friends call him "the pizza artist".
I always love seeing the chatting with the owners afterward. You can tell they really are always excited to have Dave's endorsement, because it will drive up tons of customers to their business.

Hey Dave! I ordered the Muck shoes for one of my sons. The shipping was quick and delivered just in time for his birthday. He loves them and will be showing them off on Maui!
You could tell me this review is 5 years old and I'd believe you, it has that oldschool look about it, Dave looks fresh, a passerby shouts "good pizza", owners are exicted, I LOVE IT
One of Dave’s best videos in a long time, and they deserve that 8.1 score; those guys were great and that place is a perfect example of the best of what NY pizza and Italian family and history is all about 🍕🍕🍕🍕
@@BG1435q a real Brooklyn New York Pizza is not a standard football pizza. The football pizza is a bar trying to live up to that standard. But you know, some rules are subjective just like Dave's opinion
Yeah. Scotty eats such good pizza every day he doesn't understand "football pizza" is Papa Johns and that most of his 7.4 football are really Coney Island pies
I was up in NY the other day and got a bad ass Sicilian slice that I thought was way better pizza than what Sally's in New Haven puts out these days. I tried it and id give it a 7.8
Totally agree about Brooklyn pizza having a particular aroma that's just amazing. Too bad it's long gone, but Scotti's Pizza on 5th Ave and 57th Street in Sunset Park is to this day the very best Brooklyn pizza I've ever had.
I'm so sad watching this. Years ago, there was a small mom & shop pizza shop in Floral Park, Queens, run by Italians in my neighborhood, best sauce I'd ever had, best slice I'd ever had. But the neighborhood kept going to another pizza place, which didn't even season the sauce that well, like there was literal lack of salt, just because it had been there longer. Anyway it shut down and never opened again. We lose a lot of good places to nostalgia. I'm glad these guys are making it the right way and getting the credit.
So Dave loves “football” style NYC slices, New Haven Style slices and I want to say Detroit style pizza. He don’t care for my hometown pizza but we got great pizza in Chicago, specifically the Tarven style. He did give Vito and Nicks an 8.1 so it’s obviously not that bad to him.
Owners couldn't have been any nicer. Love seeing hard working authentic people get a huge score.
