Thats 6 small bites for Dave. 1 large leap for the future of Joe & Sal's.
Merch.
1 bite*
8 bites, i had to rewatch and count. You know when dave takes just one bite and scores it, its a low score
the place and pizza both look amazing I will get some when I go back to NYC
*for a Dave
Owners couldn't have been any nicer. Love seeing hard working authentic people get a huge score.
steve is a nice guy.
Plus, I love their display of variety’s! Walk in, look, and yup, I’ll have one of that one, and one, or two of that one.
IMO ppp
lol
I’m
Mmmmm p ll
Much respect.
Absolutely. Heart and soul of our country. Hard working small business owners.
Nino is my grandfather. He passed away in 2020. Hearing this and seeing his name live on is so beautiful. Thank you Barstool.
Stop the cap
This is what a New York pizzeria is all about. Old block, tiny location, red booths, real Italians behind the counter, and amazing food. Old and authentic.
Not real Italians
Albanians
Just don't go snooping around upstairs or in the basement.
@@flipflopmcgurt3403one of them was literally from Palermo lmao what
....and do not move the booth.....if you move it, you gotta clean it.
What a beautiful beautiful spot. Right on the sidewalk, the trees, the shade, the passers by, the slightly run down but functional exterior, the sign, the pizza. Man that's Brooklyn.
Well said. So many outsiders have an image of Brooklyn that isn't always flattering, and sometimes it's deserved, but this is the Brooklyn I know and love. I think about family and community more than anything else, and your comment hit the nail on the head.
1:40 first smell
1:52 first bite
2:21 second bite
2:25 third bite
2:30 fourth bite
3:01 fifth bite
3:06 sixth bite
4:36 seventh bite
4:58 eighth bite
5:05 ninth bite
5:52 tenth bite
One smell everybody knows the rules
That tenth bite was wild
Hero.
Ten bites everyone knows the rules
You know it’s a great pizza when he keeps eating it.
Joe & Sals is my regular spot. So happy to see them finally reviewed and getting the score they deserve. They are an asset to the community.
Same! been in the neighborhood since 2020 and that has always been my favorite spot around. Whenever the big Sicilian guy (Alessandro?) is behind the counter, you know you are going to get a great slice/pie. Me and friends call him "the pizza artist".
My son's first two words he put together, wasn't momma and daddy.
It's was 'HELLO NEWMAN"..
He's 23 now and i haven't laughed that hard in my life since.
I'd come home and watch Seinfeld every day after work and have my baby boy on my lap..
I had no idea he was paying attention..lol
HELLO JERRY
Doubt.
@@pauldegregorio6432 I work with a guy named Jerry, he became half deaf when he was like 4. This guy. So because of that impediment, he doesn't know a lot of "tv", because closed captioning, and even though may have been around, not everyone had that. He doesn't know js about Seinfeld. Every morning and all day for years i do the "Hello Jerry", i had to explain it to him, he thought i was being alike a dick or something >D Turned out a good old gif an he instantly cracked up. He's a smart guy too, but it's actually a oh yeah moment. To not have grown up actually being able to hear things correctly. That is quite a dent. To think it takes great effort to just overhear, or be able to grasp the pulse of a room, or conversation, or satire etc. And he's even a funny dude in his own way, but he misses a lot, and i can only imagine living 60 years like that. Of course logically, he is a reader/Sci Fi nerd. >D
LOL, great story ...
Jews
I always love seeing the chatting with the owners afterward. You can tell they really are always excited to have Dave's endorsement, because it will drive up tons of customers to their business.
These ChatGPT bot comments are getting good!
One bite. Thankfully Dave understood Italian to get him through that conversation. Ciao, scusi
🤣
Classic lol
Seinfeld reference = instant win 👌🏼
Michael Richards, half Italian, half crazy.
Great review.
@@deanevangelista6359 And just a tad racist.
You know its going to be good when there’s a fruit stand across the street
No kidding hey lol
the NYC reviews always be poppin. love to see the street interactions
Never been but you’re right. NYC seems to have this community vibe to it in all pizza reviews
was gonna comment that myself. his recent reviews in other cities got a bit monotonous
Joe and sals - u just hit the internet lottery - prepare for absolute madness
He forgot to say "You got the real ginny shit ? Give it to ME !! "
😂
Dave is a shipwreck survivor.
TRUE HAHAHAH
Classic 👍
Who's Ginny?😅 Ginny is a woman's name.
Glad they got the photos with Dave. AWESOME!!!
They almost didnt... he was door jamming like he didn't want2 get all buddy w them
When that thin crust had a little snap to it on the first bite, I knew it would be higher than a standard football pizza.
I heard that too and then expected a great score. Crunch on first bite ain't very common.
What the hell is a football pizza, anyway? I’m from the Bronx, lived in Brooklyn, and never heard of s football pizza til I heard Dave say it. Is it a pie you order only when watching a football game? Lol
@@blondeguy56 Prez has his own descriptors. Drunk pizza, football pizza, the the usual Chicago, Detroit, etc styles.
Exactly. Once I heard the crackle it was over.
*Sal is gonna be kicking himself when he sees he missed Scott.*
I think it's awesome this joke is still going ..wonder if scotty reads the comments ?
You guys talking about me?
He missed a real life cancer survivor, God bless Scott.
“What are the odds!!”
@@Luke_Skywatcher_ easily amused, aren't ya?
7.9 and 8.1 are rookie scores at this point, everybody knows the rules.
6.2
so sick of 7.9 and 8.1 scores. Absolute rookie scores
Rookie comment. He just gave a football pizza a 7.4 yesterday.
Some madman needs to make an excel of Dave's count of each score.
If Dave GREW THE EFF UP and said "eight point zero" i SWEAR it would carry more water at this point!
Still waiting on Tonka to march.
I can't wait to see this comment on literally every video from now on
@@bigotis9042 mom said i get to post it tomorrow
What are the odds?
6:29 Dave missed an opportunity to say Ciao. :(
One of Dave’s best videos in a long time, and they deserve that 8.1 score; those guys were great and that place is a perfect example of the best of what NY pizza and Italian family and history is all about 🍕🍕🍕🍕
Love the vibes from these guys. I'm gonna have to make a trip to this place and try a slice.
Im not even from the US but I watch all Scott's reviews.
You're American by association, everybody knows the rules
@@thatmarcusallen 😂
6 degrees of scotty ..he knows the rules
Hey, I was just wondering if you’ve moved to the U.S yet?
One scotty joke played out everybody knows the rules
6:38 minutes long what do we have here
One of my favorite videos so far idk why but there was just an amazing down home vibe
One of the best looking pies I've seen him review in awhile. That was a 8.3 at least.
Hope Dave does a few more in South Brooklyn (Bay Ridge, Park Slope, Dyker Heights, etc.). Has he done Nino's yet
I remember when you couldn't stand on that corner , amazing how it all changed...it was a totally blank pizza spot many years ago ..used to watch the kids from prospect heights and Clara Barton brawl outside there
First 30 seconds I thought - this is in the 8s.
The BEST! One of the last of the old school spots I miss growing up to in Brooklyn owners everybody knew you. Nothing like the old school era of NYC.
8.3
The world needs more men like you Dave!
Dave had a chance to demonstrate his outstanding ability to speak Italian.
Love these kind of reviews
2:55 thought it was the armless luggage guy reappearing without a knife
He's dead.
No glossing over knowIng Dave was coming, just pure pizza talent! Really happy for their 8.1
The home town does it again. You just cant beat a fresh Brooklyn Pie!
Agreed I love Brooklyn
These are the best of the pizza reviews, getting to see a little slice of America.
This is my local pizza place! Best in the neighborhood. Glad to see them getting the love they deserve
Dragon Pizza review anniversary coming up in a couple days, time for a celebration Scott.. everybody knows the rules!
Another Scott joke played out everybody knows the rules
Totally agree about Brooklyn pizza having a particular aroma that's just amazing. Too bad it's long gone, but Scotti's Pizza on 5th Ave and 57th Street in Sunset Park is to this day the very best Brooklyn pizza I've ever had.
Was that DOM OF THE YEAR that walked out at @1:51??!!!😅😅😅😅
You know it's gonna hit the 8's when Dave can't stop eating it.
Nice people! Glad they got a good score!
seen 6+ minutes and knew we were in for a treat of a review.
That's what it's all about. Good people, great pizza.
One bunch of smiley friendly owners, everybody knows the work their ass off!!
Eight bites, everybody knows we've got pizza envy! 🍕
BTW, love the shirt! 🦈
Whooaawww...... 8.1 fast ball straight down the middle!!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant... I'm happy for them... happy happy vibes.
Righteous score. And that's not a damn football pizza, that's just a regular ass, good New York Pizza, everybody knows the rules
you dont seem to know the rules. its a football pizza.
@@BG1435q a real Brooklyn New York Pizza is not a standard football pizza. The football pizza is a bar trying to live up to that standard. But you know, some rules are subjective just like Dave's opinion
100%. what's with Scott calling NY pizza football pizza lately?
Yeah. Scotty eats such good pizza every day he doesn't understand "football pizza" is Papa Johns and that most of his 7.4 football are really Coney Island pies
I was up in NY the other day and got a bad ass Sicilian slice that I thought was way better pizza than what Sally's in New Haven puts out these days. I tried it and id give it a 7.8
That pie looked fantastic. The owner and his cousin looked almost relieved when they heard the score, they live for their business.
Missed opportunity to do a mango review across the street afterwards
Love it when it all works out and the owners get good news. I'll have to try this place next time I'm in NYC. Love NY style pies.
A man of the people!❤
Just hearing the one guys accent makes me want to eat there even more.
No, I said, I thank you mam for being a loyal part of the Ford family.
Love the score. Accurate. Shoutout to Dave on this one.
love reviews like this. they're why I watch
That crust though 👌
Could be my fav review, owners were so appreciative.
Fantastic shirt!!! Will travel to that pizza shop! Thank you for covering Brooklyn!
Awesome score, that pizza looked great!
Pizza people like this make my day! Love them all. 😊
I can't stand Scotty, but I love videos like this -- love to see good people do well in their lives
One bite everybody knows Dave is gonna get banned from a pizza place one day
He's definitely not welcome at Dragon Pizza anytime soon.
😂😂😂@@kutter_ttl6786
Dave, I love you, bro. I retired as a fine dining chef/innkeeper at 54 because of an Alpha-gal (hoofed mammal allergy), and I am coming out of retirement because my love for pizza can't be quenched. The cutters are never clean enough, and they won't sell it uncut. FUCK'EM.
Man, when I see certain movements from you, I think of Pauly Shore. I know you had to have heard this before.
The smell is from the water and yeast breakdown. Bagels as well. Certain bagels can never be duplicated outside certain water districts.
First thing I thought about when I saw Joe & Sal's in the name - Impractical Jokers lol
8.1 without Mrs. peaches, bravo
Pres is the man. Just made those fellas year!!!!!
After seeing the owners and the inside of that joint holy shit I think he nailed that score.
One Seinfeld reference. Two owners who absolutely know the rules. Winner episode
One of my favorite things to do is put the kids to bed. Have my pizza while I watch Dave eat pizza. Lol❤😂
Dave changing one pizzeria's life at a time, everybody knows the rules
Is it always??
I have similar!
Sometimes
just
are we?
Scotty loves foot ball pie!!!!
Dave being wholesome everyone knows the rules.
These owners make the place an 8.5. They didn’t bother Dave while he scored, or fluff the score beforehand they kept working. They were very nice, real Brooklyn Italians and kept it short and sweet . Classic spot im going to try when I come back to NY.
when the box opened, it didn't look crispy enough to get into the 8's. Once he crunched the first bite, I knew we were heading to at least the upper-7's. Great looking pizza!
Is it always pizza?
I have question!
No, sometimes it's a North Shore Beef.
Actually no…
What did you want? Pineapple?
Cookies
He killed that slice with "one bite"
One of my favorite episodes. Everything felt genuine and the Seinfeld reference was cool.
All the bites, all the talk, all the hype that pizza was actually a 8.2.
It's one bite ya gotta know the rules
They could not buy an advertisement aa good as that review.
Don't disrepect the pizza parlor... Joe & Sal's very popular in the area they'll have you whacked before the days over.
Nobody disrespected them though
Off the boat Sicilian behind the counter with accent in full effect, old school sign out front, anti pineapple on pizza propaganda on the wall, red c-9 bulb Christmas lights still up in August, opened in the 40s, history with the Paisan Nino coming from the same town in Sicily. The perfect recipe for a football to get into the 8s.
Is it always cheese pizza?
I have similar question!
Must be new here
@Solidus106 actually I'm not. Ive been watching since before covid.
The pizza is always lacking in accoutrements.
It's crazy when you're away from NYC for a while and then come back. NYC really knows their Za.
Spectacular! Monster score, and an 8.1? Must be a Brooklyn scale
8.1 monster score 3:59 🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬🌋🧬🧬🧬🧬🧬
8.1 is a monster score now apparently
@@philm2217 He's spreading the love🪷
Loved this review. Going to check it out for sure.
At first you said they were waiting for you, knew you were coming then at 3:40 you said they didn't know you were coming. Which is it? 😳
Dave lying again
You’re on the spectrum.
If you use a brain cell they knew he was in the area, but did not know he ordered which means cannot cater to his liking
Waiting for him to come and visit
“Finish half the slice of pizza, everybody knows the rules”
That's not "football" pizza. Football pizza (per Dave's reviews,) have been "standard" pizzas you can find anywhere...outside of NY. NY is it's own style...and I usually don't like it. It's big, doughy, floppy, and unwieldy. The "smell" might be due to the water? They say that the water is what makes NY bagels better than most anywhere else, but it doesn't seem to improve pizza dough. All that written, but that looked exceptional for a NY style pizza. It was big, but not floppy, and it looked more crisp than doughy. The undercarriage was the kicker, I don't usually see that in NY pizzas. 8.1 for a "traditional" NY style pizza is phenomenal, and these guys deserve to have their business boom.
sauce style too
NY water definitely affects the taste of pizza and bagels
I live so close and never knew it was there. I guess I should cross Eastern Parkway more often.
wu tang ..
8.1 ..
Trash
Thank-you for your service, wu tang guy
Best pizza movie- do the right thing
Second
wachug Dave always makes me want to watch a mafia documentary
7981, always a go to when. Several bites are taken, but you have to take a bite of the crust.
Outstanding score
One bite he doesn’t even know what borough he is in. Kramer was in Manhattan.
Luckily, no one outside the shithole that is NY..gives 2 fks
