I know the fact that he feels like basically a perennial MVP winner by now kinda blurs this, but Ohtani's 2022 is just absurd. 4th in Cy Young voting while also having a 142 wRC+ is absurd and woulda won him the MVP if Judge didn't have the absolute juggernaut of a season he did.
Not that Judge didn't deserve the MVP, more that Ohtani's 2022 almost feels overshadowed despite it being so far his best pitching season in MLB while still being an elite hitter.

Ellis Burks in '96 had ridiculous numbers and came in 3rd behind Piazza and the winner Ken Caminiti.

not watched a game in many years.. the fact there is even talk of 50-50 club tells me just how shit the MLB is now.. what a joke f the mlb and every pro sport atm in america. i hope someday every single owner gets what is coming to them.

@FastDuDeJiunn Ohtani is the founder of the 50-50 club. He's earned it and could have gone 60-60 if he stayed hot during that last week. Would've taken a lot for it to happen, though.

@@FastDuDeJiunnThe late 90s and most of the 2000s had players routinely hitting 40 homers and 120 RBIs and finish like 5th in MVP
Chill, there's like 3 or 4 players that put up ridiculous stats now compared to 20 years ago, baseball hasn't changed that much

Albert Belle, 1995. 50 home runs, 50 doubles. In a shortened season, no less.

My favorite example of someone who had historic years in the wrong year is Sammy Sosa hitting 60+ home runs 3 times... and all 3 of those years someone else hit more home runs (although Sosa did get the 1998 MVP)

I feel the top 10 in each league in 2006 could've won MVP

No Albert Belle in 1995? 50 Hr 50 2B still the only one to ever do that, and did it in a strike-shortened season to boot. I know he was hated by most of the press and the other teams and my team's player got it that year in Mo Vaughn, but it was obvious Belle deserved it by talent alone. It may not compare to the ones in this video, however.

This will be the first time Ohtani actually deserves MVP and Trout lost rightfully so those 2 times.
