Sounds and looks great to me! At first when I saw a photo of this, I thought "what they have done to the beautiful 350??". Now after couple of videos, I like this much more than the older one.
That is decent performance for $30 grand. I would say this is a winner. Rev matching in a manual is pretty ingenious, it seems the Nissan GTR's sporty traits are contagious. Well done again Nissan.
***** it's so and so I listen to my music so I really don't pay no mind. Those are one of those things where it's like someone being too picky. I do agree with you though.
@@mariokart8054 Much of that noise is from the tires, but it's not that bad. The Bridgestone Potenza S007 that came on my Z are not loud. When I put Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on it was even quieter.
That just takes the fun out of everything. I find entering a corner more exciting than the exit because I get a chance to heel-toe downshift. It is very rewarding when YOU get it right. Its a good peice of technology (very good) but I wouldn't want it. Is it an option or do you HAVE to have it?
Performance of the 335i and Z are neck and neck but it will never outhandle the 335, they really are amazing. Definitely take them both out and see what you like!
I used to think like that then I decided to try them. I have never had 1 problem at all out of the Ford truck or the 2 Mustangs I have owned. They've all been excellent vehicles.
I test drove the auto version today. I originally planned on getting the manual, but the automatic is really quite good. It's well-behaved in full auto mode and it responds quickly to the paddle shifts and rev matches them so it is smooth. Really the only downside to the auto trans is having to listen to people tell you that manual is better, when in this case, it really isn't.
Yes his mechanic told him about that and he changed it out but I don't know if that was the last of his problems or not, he didn't keep it a whole lot longer though.
I just got mine 2 days ago, a manual. I'm 34 and thought I'd like the 6-speed better (because the 300zx twin turbo was my dream car in high school but couldn't afford it), not that I'm having regrets, but I'm getting sick of the bumper to bumper traffic. Car and Driver tested the automatic, and I was stunned to see that it did 0-60 in 4.7 sec and 1/4 in 13.1. The automatic might've been a better choice...But, I'm still young at heart.
wow the rev match down shift feature is amazing so all u have to do is push down the clutch and down shift without gasing? that's pretty impressive technology
I can actually see what they meant by the old 240z styling. The sloping back and rear spoiler look very similar to the old shape. Despite me being a die-hard rotary fan, I would defiantly consider pick on one up.
It would be good to have this in more cars. Some cars pedals aren't spaced probably for heel and toe. There's a site where C6 Z06 owners were complaining about the spacing of their pedals.
I like the part when he says "haters are always waiting for their next target". I see the hate towards Nissan as a sign of success. If Nissan can catch so much attention from haters, that means it's coming strong. Really nice car 370z. Now bring out the GT-R V-Spec.
You can't use times from different reviews. Edmunds had the same exact time for the GT and the Z. Other sources have gotten 4.6 and 4.7 out of the Z, and it's normally slightly quicker than the Mustang.
This is the first car that I have seen in a while that actually has some useful kit on it and is setup up correctly. The last time I saw this arrangement was in my old Ford Granada! It is about time there was a rear wheel drive, LSD, auto, north-south engine mounted, hatchback with a full sized spare wheel car on the market, most cars fail in this area somewhere. Even the BMWs are not as well laid out. The weird thing is, I would be interested in know if there is going to be a 5 door version...?
Yeah dude - if you lift off the throttle and engage the clutch, and the computer's algorithm anticipates a downshift, the car automatically blips the throttle to match revs with the previus gear when you go ahead and disengage the clutch into the lower gear. Pretty awesome stuff actually.
Love it, it does what most companies cannot do lately which is make the next generation car completely better than the last. The only thing I don't like much is those "fangs" on the styling of the front bumper, and I wish nissan would make a targa version again.
True that - but heal and toe can be complicated and some of us find it REALLY annoying. I don't know if the system can be disengaged, but I'd guess it can be - just like traction and stability controls.
Yeah Jonny but the Z and G are from the same company; so what you are saying then is that the only rival to the 370Z is a 370Z with a more luxo cabin? The SI is cool for its nitch, but Honda doesn't really have anything that can go against the Z or G. S2K can hang with the MX5 and the RX8. The SI can play with the SE-R Sentra (as you said). The 2009 Accord Coupe can take on the Altima. But when it comes to the Nissan's RWD V6 powered halmarks, you need to go up to Acura.
Nissan brought back the Datsun look on this Z.. I love the way this Z looks because im a big fan of Datsun's Z-series designs..i its kinda like old school flavor with current technology..In my opinion, Nissan took a good step forward by making this Z..
Looks like there is a bit of body roll in the slalom, but nothing too dramatic. Not sure what the reviewer means by the steering being a bit heavy. The steering of the 350Z was a bit numb for my taste. You didn't feel as connected to the road as in some cars. If they fixed that I guess some people would complain. The automatic downshift throttle-blip was actually quite a clever touch. That means you can have more practical pedals.
Well, I know for certain that my 2008 Nissan Maxima is more comfortable and well appointed than a BMW 5 series, and they ride equally well, but the Maxima costs $20-30k less. You really don't get much interior quality and comfort with a BMW; it's all about the performance. My mom's top-of-the-line last gen X5 was very uncomfortable and had lots of hard plastics and didn't feel nice or well appointed, but I'm sure it drove well.
I just got my 370 couple weeks ago. I'm over 30, and insurance is right under $100/month.Insurance companies base it more on just engine size/horsepower.They do it on the fact that sports cars are "high-risk" because a lot of people who drive them don't know how. But yeah,if it's a $100K+ Porsche,Ferrari, etc., then it'll be a lot more expensive than say a Z or Miata. I think it also has a lot to do w/ how expensive it'd be to replace your car if you smash it.
No you still do, but when you let off of the gas and clutch in, the car automatically blips the throttle to the correct rpm's for the lower gear, so there's no need to heel-toe your downshifts. Its like a sequential manual's downshifts, but with a normal shifter.
Anything under 5 secs is quick especially for the price point. Alot of V8's wont even go under 5 secs. Course people that like to modify stuff, 0-60 in under 4 is nice but we are talking stock every day non 4wd under 40grand. This is also non turbo and just a V6. have seen a few magazines pull 13.3 1/4's as well. Pretty good.
@3star2nr i have driven it and i agree its real nice. im just marking upon the fact that it lacks a decent amount of torque and that it is consistent with the powerband of most decent imports
Ford Modular engines have been HIGHLY developed through the years, mainly because they have to be. The same 4.6L V8 that goes in the Mustang GT goes into police cruisers, albeit with slight modifications (higher idle speed). The engines have to be good and up to the task, and have to perform extremely well for their weight and displacement.
Camaro SS stock - 30,745 With options I would want- 35,390 ( 2SS package, automatic w/ shift paddles,Red jewel tintcoat paint) Nissan 370z Stock - $29,930 With options I would want - $34,950 (which was just the sports package & 7 speed automatic) So yes you are right little more expensive but less then a grand in either configuration.
@Texarmageddon I'm not sure I would take it over it, but I kind of lump the braking in with the handling. There is the power and then everything else to me.
Beautiful car when I sat in it felt really comfortable the interior is brilliant built... Designs make the Porsche outdated JAPANESE CAR POWER FTW!!! Would definitely love to own one in the future. Z Power Forever
rosskey711...the 350Z was half-assed. It needed improvement in many areas with regards to it's design, the 370Z is progressive (retro too) and is quite beautiful.
Dude, the Tau V8 was designed and made in Korea by Hyundai. Also, most of GM's well rated economy cars are made in Korea by Daewoo. The Pontiac Vibe is just a rebadged Toyota Matrix and the many of GM's midsized SUV's i.e (Saturn Vue)use Toyota transmissions.
That's why there's the G35/37 for people who don't want a true sports car but something more practical. G's have the same engine as the Zs but don't quite perform as well being that they weigh more (back seats, more luxury features) but still fun cars.
trust me...go to your nissan dealership and see one firsthand...you will be a changed man...it makes the old 350z look outdated...if given the choice between the two you would definitely go for the new z in a heartbeat...the design is just so much more appealing in person.
@TheSmoonge yea I guess that's true the 350z wasn't to bad either especially with the gps and leather seats, me personally I was more comfortable in the g35 idk if it's more spacious it felt that way to me
How come people say its uglier than the 350Z? Its only because of the new wheels, which I agree are ugly. But the shorter rear end and wider body makes it a prospective beauty. Just give it 275s tires on the rear and good looking wheels, tint the windows, debadge it, lower it a bit and give it a cat-back and change the intake-box so it breaths better and you have an all-around great car, much much much better than the 350z.
I am sure some tuning company out there is going to come out with a kit that will make all the old 350Z lovers to switch up. I personally am a 350Z fan the new front bumper on this looks like it has fangs.
Plus Ford's modular engines have been engineered WAY more than Nissan's ricer V6s. That's why they perform better, have better torque curve, and are lighter. You know there's a reason they use them in police cruisers.
carsguitarswomen Go to the websight and add options and it will show you price, print it up and take to dealership. if your dealership is ripping people off just tell them you will pay websight price or you will walk or just go to another dealership. I just test drove a 2ss a couple weeks ago they werent marked up at all they also had like 40 of them Camaros that is.
base price at 30k. sounds reasonable. will it sell? i can't speak for that. but to me, under harsh times i grab me camry and use the extra cash on down payment. just my take on things. its a fun car but really 2 seater with a family is really not practical except a fun weekend drive by myself maybe.
im getting this car in two years .......... my friends getting a pontiac GTO. but his car is packing some muscle 400hp and 295ib-ft. but you got to remember how heavy it is. but this car has 332hp and 270ib-ft. still i will be adding a cool air intake a turbo kit and aa chip the chip will be programed to shift harder wich will stop me from losing rpms. it will increes my top speed by a lot and it will make my car do alot more. the tubo kit will add aboout 20hp more and the cool air intake 11hp
Twin turbo, race suspension, carbon fiber replacements parts for the fiberglass, lighter rims, bigger and better brakes, and a better exhuast. Oh I can see the things I'll do to this thing once it's ready for ordering.
the one thing i've never liked about the 370 is the jagged window line on the sides, wish they would have just smoothed it out a bit, otherwise i love the car
Sounds and looks great to me!
At first when I saw a photo of this, I thought "what they have done to the beautiful 350??". Now after couple of videos, I like this much more than the older one.

Got my own Z like a month ago. Best decision in my life so far :)
Mr.Rose Still got it?
Still got it?
I have mine and haven't been disappointed
One complaint is that it's really noisy inside on the highway. Is this true?
***** it's so and so I listen to my music so I really don't pay no mind. Those are one of those things where it's like someone being too picky. I do agree with you though.
+San Andres I mean you're rolling in a z so that makes up for it. Thanks man
No problem
@@mariokart8054 Much of that noise is from the tires, but it's not that bad. The Bridgestone Potenza S007 that came on my Z are not loud. When I put Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on it was even quieter.
this car is unreal. my family has a 350z and its a beast, cant wait for this one

Yes. The Z emblem on the fender has a light around it, that is used as a turn signal.
I used to think like that then I decided to try them. I have never had 1 problem at all out of the Ford truck or the 2 Mustangs I have owned. They've all been excellent vehicles.
I have an 86' accord myself and it runs better than a lot of new cars...and its damn reliable starts no matter what
This is a car I would buy!! Really good redesign and technology! Nissan did a great job, especially with the SycroRev Mode! Lovable!
I test drove the auto version today. I originally planned on getting the manual, but the automatic is really quite good. It's well-behaved in full auto mode and it responds quickly to the paddle shifts and rev matches them so it is smooth.

I think all the Z's of 300 and older can rest easy now. This 370Z looks like it'll do a good job taking their place.

I'm in luv this car..I wish I could have her home already..I don't kno what color I should pick...Solid Red or Magnetic Black? Any suggestions?
I love the 370z. What other car with leather and GPS will do 0-60 in 5 seconds and handle as well as a Corvette at only $35k?
I like it! Looks more aggressive than the 350 was. Big open mouth front bumper, things looks good! I want!
@Texarmageddon I'm not sure I would take it over it, but I kind of lump the braking in with the handling. There is the power and then everything else to me.
That's auto rev match is fantastic!!
Top speeds of cars in this range are usually electronically limited to 155 mph.
insideline needs to change their display bar above the video discription now! its the gauges of a 350z
Beautiful car when I sat in it felt really comfortable the interior is brilliant built... Designs make the Porsche outdated JAPANESE CAR POWER FTW!!! Would definitely love to own one in the future.

This car is a triumph. A Cayman S performer for half the price. Thank you Nissan, thank you.

Wat is that red square below the car backside
I had plans of buying a 370z but switched to Camaro 2SS. I still love the 370z though!
the 300 was a rg30 engine (3.0 liter) for the records the Z is the designation of the car.
its a beautiful car. its even more remarkable in real life.
bad ass car!
I love that sound
i love it. i want one sitting next to my 300ZX and 350Z
because it is not simply models the designation is the motor size.
Looks tons better than the 350. Stock rims look really good to.
quick question did he ever check the trans cooler..... cuz i have been seeing that they might be to small.... especially if you haul a lot
my dad come with black one today into a garage it was big suprise for me 5 seconds to 100kmh DAMN!

I agree on the GT-R but I don't understand where you are coming from for the 370Z
Audi TTs 0-62 = 5.2 not 5.4 so the advert on youtube is... WRONG
i would love to get this carr it's so beautiful! :D
I think this has the Nismo exhaust fitted, like the show cars??
can't wait, looks good
its a v6 amazing and its so elegant
trust me...go to your nissan dealership and see one firsthand...you will be a changed man...it makes the old 350z look outdated...if given the choice between the two you would definitely go for the new z in a heartbeat...the design is just so much more appealing in person.
im glad im getting my 370z soon!
Peter Hernandez how was it?
@TheSmoonge yea I guess that's true the 350z wasn't to bad either especially with the gps and leather seats, me personally I was more comfortable in the g35 idk if it's more spacious it felt that way to me
im loving this car
How come people say its uglier than the 350Z? Its only because of the new wheels, which I agree are ugly. But the shorter rear end and wider body makes it a prospective beauty. I'm done conversing with an adult who has the mental ability of an 11 year old and can't type a sentence without spelling something wrong.
The G37 is about 500lbs heavier, which adds a half of a second to the 0-60 and 1/4 time.
I am sure some tuning company out there is going to come out with a kit that will make all the old 350Z lovers to switch up. I personally am a 350Z fan the new front bumper on this looks like it has fangs.
Sorry man, didn't mean to insult your intelligence. I do love the front end, they made it look like it has fangs. Happy Turkey-day!
true but sometimes i find it annoying having to hit the gas before a turn or slowing down to exit
It gives my dreams wings!
are you talking about the turn signal corner lights?
The styling is okay, but overall it's a damn good car. Probably the next car that I buy.

4.7 seconds is BEAST for a sports car!
Sick Ass Z. Saw it in person at the Z tour of the Nation in MD! GT-R showed up too, canst forget about that, Nissan knows their shit
