- The Coleman SALUSPA in Minnesota below zero test. It works, the bubbles not so much. I set this tub up just before Halloween. Thought we would give it a test. This is the coldest I have seen this tub in action. I would still recommend it.
Looks cozy AF! BTW, you're right about not running the bubbler as it draws in ambient air and will cool your hot tub quickly.
Great point - I've watched like 10 videos on running these in the winter but haven't seen this point brought up. Really important - thanks!
That bubbler is horrible sounding my Intex is quiet but don't run bubbles in cold will cool it off way faster
Lol “not really.”
Great video man! We’re running ours in Michigan and love it but I’d imagine it gets colder where you are. The lake protects us a little bit from the harsh harsh cold.
Great job Lilly- and cute suit!
Great video thank you for sharing God bless you always have a beautiful day
We use ours up in northern Canada in -40 but we winterized it and built a wood enclosure insulated with insulation boards. It does great! Only downside is we can't run the bubbles in the cold.
I live in Edmonton and want to buy an inflatable hot tub, what steps do I need to take to ensure it works well in our winters and lower heating costs as well ?
@jonny123596 we are in Edmonton as well. You will need to use as a bare minimum foam insulation board all the way around. Ours is on our stone patio on an R5 rated one and then we built a wooden frame around it with two by fours in which we cut to size R8 foam board and wedged it into the framing. Then we covered it with trellis to hide it. Finally we covered an R8 foam board with outdoor fabric and use that over the wooden frame so that the entire thing is insulated when not in use. When in use obviously you have the insulated lid and inflatable lid off but as long as your surround is fairly snug (I think we have a 1/2 inch gap around between the tub and the insulated frame) then it's still helping insulate that inflatable wall
Do you keep It heated continually through Winter? What is your power bills like?
What r value in floor /walls/cover? Thanks
@jjj-py5pg see above response on R rating. We kept it continually running and at 40°C and saw minimal increase in our heating bills.
by the way, the buckles on the Coleman are cheap. they are difficult to unsnap on a good day. Coleman tried to save a buck using cheap hardware. A higher quality buckle mjght have cost them 5 cents more. Last----the manual is so cheap, you can;t read it with a magnifying glass. Otherwise the Coleman Spa is a good value.
I just want to know where you got that JACKET !!!! 🙂
I was a Fender rep for a while many years ago.
You still enjoy the tub and any idea what it costs to run per month?
Can it work well in minus 20 Celsius in canada ? Im thinking about insulation and build an enclosure
With an enclosure and insulation, you should be good.
How does your hot tub stay on? I have the Saluspa Havana and also live in MN but my pump shuts off once the air temp reaches 40 I think. I have managed to winterize it so it will run all winter though.
This one doesn't turn off. It runs all winter. I don't do anything with the pump.
Does the Hydraulic Press Channel know you stole their music?
Ever think they may have stole mine?
lol i love that channel.
