How to eat tropical fruits without ruining their taste! Most importantly you must know which is the most sour and most sweet fruits. Now always start from the sour ones gradually moving to the most sweet one, you will be able to enjoy the tastes and aroma of each fruit. If you start from the most sweet fruit climbing the charts to sour. All your sour fruits will taste 10 times more sour than they should be. And Vice versa, enjoy your tropical fruits guys!
I love all of the fruits here! They taste so much better in these growing conditions I think!!

First thing that came into my mind is that “would she eat them right?” but this time you did a great job👍🏻
Basically don’t cut anything, rip with your hands 😂😂😂 thank you for watching!! ☺️🙏🏻
The whole bunch of fruits you tried today were all my favourite. It's funny to watch you trying a bit of each. I feel happy watching you try Thai fruits, though.
They’re so good! I still love the Mangosteen the most from my first video! Thank you for watching! I love trying new things. Thailand has such delicious foods and fruits 😍😍

Loving your channel so much. We have custard apple back in Australia, well at least in QLD. So delicious 😊
Haha thank you so much! I had a few people tell me you can get custard apple in like Asian shops and suburbs but I’ve never seen one!! Haha thank you for watching 😁😁🙏🏻
Fun fact: the spiky Sala that you had, it’s also in the pink syrup of Nom-Yen or Nom-Chompoo (Iced Pink Milk) that you had earlier. Cheers!✌🏻❤️
Haha no way!!!! Thank you!!
Awesome!!! You stay here so long.
About 6 months now! I love Thailand 😁😁
Many Thai call Mandarin as Orange. Because Orange is literary mean "Som" (ส้ม) in Thai.
( Mandarin can be Green until Orange depend on how early the Mandarin was croped. )
And many kind of Citrus, they usually put the word "Som" in front of the Citrus. ( Not all, just some of them. )
So, many Citrus they call it shortly "Orange" for easy to communicate.
But in the price's tag there will be written what kinds of that Orange are.
P.S. Som also mean "Sour", So there are Som (n. = fruit) , and Som (adj. = sour) from Som Tam (Papaya Salad) (์Not Orange Salad) Ha ha ha.
But we have the Pomelo Salad which we call "Yam Som O" (ยำส้มโอ), Yam is "Spicy Salad" and Som O is "Pomelo".
And yes we call the Pomelo as "Som (in front of) O" the describe what kinds they are.
Wow thanks for letting me know!
Rose apples are some of my favourites! Especially after you put them in the fridge. Sweet, crunchy, refreshing. Definitely less mess to prepare than watermelons. You just have to bite the stem bit at the pointy end off. I believe they’re called so because when you turn them bottom side up, they look like a rosebud.
Redbull (กระทิงแดง) is popular, but compared to M150 they’re niche. Thai people just say M100 (M roi, two less syllables to say). It’s a known stable among drivers and an essential for road trips.
Custard apples were wayyyyy easier to find when I was younger. I think, like okrong mangoes, hard to take care of.
ส้ม (som/oranges) is a blanket term for most of the citrus fruits, like banana, where we have a blanket term and then a specific variety name.
They’re many orange oranges here as well, like ส้มเช้ง (som cheng, the orange).
The ones you guys had were actually ส้มเขียวหวาน (Bang Mot tangerines/ lit. Sweet green oranges), which were developed from mandarins.
Thank you for the help!
Josie... this is so fun to watch... makes me miss Thailand even more.
I’m so glad you like to watch my videos!! I’m going to miss Thailand anytime I’m not here I think 🥺
Thank you to try Nhoi-nha.
Actually for all fruits if you buy in season you will find its tasty and sweet. Depends to source of farm or province. It is not easy to pick up one that suits to eat on each day because some fruit if you keep for 1-2 days its more sweet and better.
Have you ever try Mayongchid (mayonchid) yet? but it is by season as well. If Mango or Durian you must eat only end Mar or Apr.
Nhoi nha is so different but so glad I tried it!! I haven’t had mayonchid yet either, might have to find that too, thank you!!’ 🙏🏻🙏🏻😁😁
I love that you try to support local store.
Of course!!! Seems like the right thing to do to me 😁☺️☺️☺️
03.12 you can call it 'Som kheaw whan'😁
For rose apple you should cut it in half then remove the stem and bottom parts and also the fluufy fiber part.Yjose will make eating the fruit more enjoyable. And if possible you should get the "Petch" variety from Petchaburi province which is green appearance. Enjoy.
Rose apple which is green! Hahaha that’s funny, thank you for that! 🙏🏻😁😁
Well your about to hit 17K! They love you in Thailand 🇹🇭. Congratulations 🎊 👏
Hahah thank you Walt!!! It’s so nice to see people like my videos 😁😁🙏🏻

Fun fact : Noi na (That green custard thingy) is sometimes a slang for grenades because of its shape lol.
It looks like one!!! 😂😂😂
M150+pipo(jelly) is very perfect combination.
It was so much better than I expected!! 😂😂😍😍😍
Tamarind we use it for cooking .. Two versions in Kerala vERSION- kudampuli and in TAMIL - puli.. They use it for Tamarind based curries in the main course, North Indian Sweets, Tamarind used for RASAM - South Indian soup- middle of THAALI Banana leaf meal.
Custard Apple- Jackfruit is everywhere in our region
Those are not Longan( or Lum Yai in Thai). Those are Longkong.
Longan has a hard skin and super super sweet.
PS. You should wash all the fruits before eating, especially the roseapple. ;)
Long kong!’ She even said that. Whoops 🤦🏼♀️ 😂😂😂
@@josieliftsthings there is confusion about those two fruits because those fruits you tried in the video are called long kong in Thailand, but in hawaii for example, longan which sounds very similar, is actually a different fruit. Dimocarpus longan is called lam yai in Thailand. But the one you tried is Lansium Domesticum.
In the Philippines, we have all of those fruits except for the one you called Salah. Custard Apple, we call that Atis. You just break that in half without peeling. Then you just take a bite without eating the skin. Best time to eat would be after chilling them. 100x better.
I love your videos!
Thank you so much Alyssa!!! That’s so nice to hear 😩😍 thank you so much for watching! 🙏🏻🤍🤍🤍
OMG 😱 Custard Apple is my favorite fruit in the Philippines and we called it ATIS.😋😋😋
ATIS! 😁😁😁
When you ride the bike around chiangmai . if you see the pineapple .the small pineapple call phulae very sweet from chiangrai ., The energy drink number 1 now in thailand is carabaodang .you can try

It's awesome to see your reaction. Love your videos. You've got a new subscriber here !. Anyway, the spike one can comes with 1 or 2 or 3 in one fruit!. You should try the rose apple in green color. Some variety is super sweet. The red one for me is taste like nothing.
Thank you so much for subscribing!! 😁😁🙏🏻🙏🏻 I love trying new things 😂 I think it’s so fun! Yeah the red was like water!! Hahaha I’ll get a green one next time 😁🙏🏻 thank you for watching 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Tip to remove Sala’s spike is putting them in the basket and shake until their skin are smooth. This way can save you finger from their spike😁😁😁
Hahah I would never have thought of this! Thank you! 😂🙏🏻🙏🏻😁
I was laughing 😂😂 when you jerk your face feeling the tangerine. 😆😆😆👍 You are a very brave girl.
😂😂😂😂 I can’t believe I thought it was an orange 😂😂😂😂 I’m glad I could make you laugh! 🙏🏻😂😂
for tamarind, there are sweet tamarind and sour tamarind. they look the same. we use sour tamarind as ingredient incooking. the sweet one is very delicious.
I think all fruits taste better when they are cold, especially rose apples because it is watery. I really like your trying videos.❤️❤️
Thank you!! Yes we put some in the fridge it’s much tastier!! Haha. Especially Mangosteen! 😂😂 thank you for watching my videos 👋🏻🤍🙏🏻😁😁☺️
Oh yes I have!! I eat with guava the salt 😁😁
Noi Na is my fave. Especially white creamy color one. You make me wanna order Noi Na online right now!! 😂
Haha it was so tasty Jo!
If my understanding is correct, there’re two kind of rose apples: green one and red one. I personally like the green one more, but it’s quite hard to find. You can try it if you can find it. lol
Another fruit that I would recommend is green mangoes. (unripe mangoes) The way we eat it is quite different from the yellow one. It’s more like a savory.
By the way, I had to make myself a glass of milo yesterday because if your videos. lol I’m Thai living in Japan, so I miss milo in Thailand sooo much.
Come to phetchaburi. We have a lot of the green rose apples in the market. They are mostly sweet and fresh unless the rain falls before they ripe. In such case, it tastes like water with less flavor.
Yes! I’m so glad you’re hooked on milo too!
thank you very much good drinks 😆
Girl I love ur videos!
Thank you SO much!!! So so happy you like watching them! I love making them for you 😁😁☺️☺️☺️
I saw you today around crosswalk MAYA, Chiangmai. I was in my car when I saw you, I want to say hi but I’m too shy. If you have chance, try Miang Kam. It's not a fruit but a kind of food.
Yeah!!!, so glad that you try to find talingpling. It’s hard to find for a reason hahaha , maybe you can find it in street cart vendor at gas station. Thais like to eat sour fruits when they have long drive.
I see! I’ll have to keep an eye out!
when u guys coming home? u from syd qld vic??? should come cabramatta, for food vid 💯 great vid as per usual guys yeewww 👌🥂🍻🇦🇺
We aren’t sure yet!!! As long as people watch my videos I can stay travelling! 😂😂 I’m from Sydney! I know cabra! I might have to visit there when I get home to remind me of here! Haha. Thank you so much for watching all the way from home! 🙏🏻☺️☺️😁
I'm Thai and I like all fruits you choose to try. I recommend try the sweet one first, then try the sour one. La-mood (Sapodilla) is sweet and tasty. Try Custard apple ice cream, delicious and creamy.
สละ หรือระกำSalah or raagum, good salah
fruit is sweet too, but the cheap one mostly sour.....we still have 100 various of fruits , not only coconut, mangoes, durian,or mangosteen. Try กระท้อน Gra-thorn ,good one is sweet with delicious seed. Enjoy the tasty thai fruits kha.
Funny clip.
Yum!!! Thank you so much for watching! 😁😁🙏🏻🙏🏻
I cracked when you said Thai people drink yakult for fun🤣
Cause I once talked about this with my German friend
She said people drink it for good health, and I'm like we drink it for taste though🤣
Yes and it has to be Yakult specifically too, any other brand and it doesn't tasted as good. There's something that Yakult did so good that other brands can't do quite the same. I always left disappointed when 7-11 ran out of Yakult and i had to content with Betagen 😩
Hahah yes! I just can’t imagine it not being like medicine… but I did like it!
I am impressed you are using quite a few local words without know Thai.
Thank you! I try my best to learn as much as I can 😁😁😁
love to see you try and eat different things😄😁 yakult here is a staple Josie especially to children because of good bacteria it provides to the gut. I let my child drink it at least once a day and especially if your on antibiotics or your sick because it promotes fast recovery😁
Haha I can’t believe I’m about to turn 27 and I’m still finding new things in the world! Lived in Australia and thought I knew everything and then you travel and find new things!! I love it 😁😁😁
When we are at home, we ONLY have yakult if we’re sick we don’t have it all the time! Which is why it’s different but it does have good things doesn’t it!!! 😂😁😁
@@josieliftsthingsI look forward to your future adventures always 😄 feels like I'm also travelling and there's always a lot to learn😄 your turning 27 next month😁?? my daughter's birthday month is july and she's turning 7😁😁
The last one rose apple .... contain very less sugar ......it's good fruit for anybody who want to diet.
if you want to buy Talingping go to vegetable shop in the local market. they also have Ma-dun, all kinds of sour berry. this kind of berry we use them in food recipe that why they sell in vegetable shop.
Ah so it’s a vegetable! No wonder the fruit vendors didn’t have it!
Thai oranges are more of green color on the outside in general. Don't know why we call it 'orange' at first glance X-D
(Orange in Thai is called 'ส้ม' - 'Som', which literally means 'Orange' as well.)
😅
if you want to try new drink, try to order "white malt". i think it's delicious as much as milo.
Oh I had this one!! It’s in this video: ruclips.net/video/IfTKq_CcFGQ/видео.html
I don’t think I like it as much as milo though!! 😂😂😂
You would find talingplling easier in vegi stall. It's mainly for cooking. M150 and Redbull are simillar drinks as Pepsi and CocaCola are.
Oh I did not know that!!! I should’ve gone to the veggies, I didn’t think it wouldn’t be in the fruit!!
Ahhh like coke and Pepsi. Or milo and Ovaltine 😉😉😉😂😂
I love Thai fruits 💖
Me too!!! 😍😍

thank you!
Custard apple is nickname of Granade MK2 in Thai
It does look like one! 😂
You were a bit unlucky with the sala and the mandarin if they were too sour. Good ones are sweet and tend to cost rather more than you paid. Have you tried durian again? If you didn't think much of it the first time, that's not unexpected. Give it a few more tries, you may become addicted and find yourself spending 100's on just a few pieces.
Talingpling is for cooking. You are more likely to find it at a vegetable stall. Wouldn't bother though if I were you
Yes I’ve had the mandarin before in a juice and it was sooo sweet. Must have been an old one or just unlucky!

La-mut is my favourite. It has no nutritional value at all other than load of sugar from mother nature, ha ha ha 🎊 Love it 🎊
HAHAHA I love that!!! Nothing but sugar 😂 I wish it was there so I could’ve tasted 😂😂😂
All off Thai smoothies put a lot of syrup that’s why all of them always sweet taste 😂 in the red bull with jelly too

Logan is sweet or really sweet. If it's sour, it's bad. The same thing is custard apple. And it should be really or ripped. We can get Longman in the west. But we cannot get fresh custard apple. I had seen it in frozen section. Lamut is another one. I'm pretty sure you had them before. There are varieties. I can't remember the word. The Asian kind is kind of expensive here in the state. It's supposed to be sweet and soft. If I visit southeast Asia, custard apple is the one that I would ask for. Let me give you a clue. When you get stomach upset or diarrhea, mix Tamarac powder and a little water and drink it. I'm not a fan of this kind of things. But it stops diarrhea instantly.
Thanks for letting me know!

Taling Ping can be found at vegetable stall but not easy because it is not very popular.
Oh no! Well they did say it’s out of season?? Is that right. Couldn’t find it anywhere 😩😩
@@josieliftsthings we put it in some kinds of curry to get sour taste and also in Prik Ka Pi (Chilli past). The season of TalingPing is from April till June, same as mangoes.

Culture shock when I move to Australia and found out that all teen is crazy drinking V drink and Red bull which so much different from Thailand.
Right!!!! Hahaa that was my first thought, and the smell brought me back to vodka red bulls and jager bombs with redbull, and here they are in smoothies!!! Hahah, glad you understand what I mean 😁😁😁
Next time, try Nesvita Smoothie. It tastes like malt mixed with cereals.

M150 smoothie 💕💕💕
Great video! Personally i am team redbull lol. Yakult and jelly is amazing on a hot day lol
I think I liked M150 better but maybe because it was so sweet and didn’t taste it fully only the jelly 😂😂😂 So I think I’d like redbull better without the smoothie, which I found surprisingly refreshing as well!! I’m so surprised that I liked them 😂😂😂
Hi! How has it been shopping in Thailand? Hope you can make a blog about this ✨🫶🏻
Hey! I haven’t had that much shopping experience here, I might put together some info to put somewhere, I’ve been to HEAPS of the malls, but I’ve been on a tight budget so I haven’t bought hardly anything, but I have tried to find some clothes and I’ve found the fit of them very different to home! I’ve had trouble finding something in my size because I’ve put on some weight! Hahaha. But Michael has bought a new iPhone here, I bought some camera equipment and it’s been so good for all of that!!! I’m a very bad shopper hahaa so for anyone else it would be heaven!! I didn’t think of that! Thank you! Haha so spiky! 😂😂
if you ever get to have an organic rose apple you can taste the rose flavor. I have had them in Thailand where they are nice and crisp and refreshing, but not much taste. I had some rose apples in Maui later, and I was like oh! it's called rose apple because it is actually supposed to have a rose taste! I'm guessing that the large scale non organic farming practices prevent that subtle taste from developing in them.
Haha no way! I thought it was from the colour. Yum!!! Hopefully one day I can try!
ซัพภาษาอังกฤษบังหน้าหมดเลยครับ
I like your reaction 😆
However, Thai people eats some tropical fruits with a “dipping”. For example, rose apple with salt-chilli flakes or green mango with sweetened fish sauce.
P.S. that “green orange” is actually a tangerine.
Oh my gosh I did not know that was a tangerine 😂😂😂 I guess because the oranges are green here I didn’t notice there would be more green fruits 😂😂😂
I kind of like M150 rather than red bull.
At home, my mom made noi-nah ice cream as well. It’s really nice 🤤
Sala is look like that some have 2 seeds, some got one. Not strange at all.
Glad to see that you kind of like these fruits trial this time. There are a lot more to try but may be not their seasonal right now. You have to stay here longer 😁 oh! Don’t forget to try satol = ka-thon กระท้อน (select the one that you push and feel soft)
I definitely like them! Yes I’ll have to wait until they’re back in season to try some more! 😃
น้องน่ารักมากค่ะ
Have you ever tried eating ripe papaya(ma-ra-gor) and longan(lam-yai)?
Not yet no!! When we come back to Thailand soon we will try! 😁😁

put the ice with custard apple fruit leve it cool for a while then test it
Some kind of fruit have best taste in their season or you have to choose them. I think you may like them more if you have them. But hope you enjoy to explore and try the new one! 😆
