"I have always loved music that has both elements: melancholy and sadness as a description of the current situation you are in, but at the same time a hopeful, utopian element that reminds you of the possibility of a different life." ----- wow, that is exactly how Ulrich's music makes me feel. which i why i can't stop listening to it.
Ulrich your music inspires me to feel all those feelings that at some point in my life I was afraid of. But your music has inspired me to confront those feelings and see that beautiful vision of waken consciousness that can lead us to understand ourselves and our divine purpose in our life. When my mother went to heaven in January this year I was so devastated, and even before with my divorce. Your music has helped me so much. God bless you, and I wish you the best, success and happiness.
This song gives me the feeling of imagining me visiting the little town in Guatemala, where my mother was born. I imagine coming in an old time bus at night and begin walking on the dark streets on those dusty roads, and passing by the house where my mother when she as a child is so humble sleeping inside. I adore my mother and I treasure every moment I was with her on this earth. Now she is my angel since she went to heaven!
I'm just so glad that everyone who listens to Ulrich music has the same feelings as I do. It transposes you into another world ....a better one. It's nice to hear these amazing tracks while you are studying, working, walking, fall asleep, looking at the sky, when you wake up, driving, when you are sad or sick (it gives you hope) and especially when you ride your bike. It feeds the soul with optimism and hope. This is how heaven sounds like! So sad it's underrated.
nicely said but it's not underrated. just not so mainstream, which is ok. if you're interested in this kind of music, it's out there waiting for you. Ulrich was there for me on fb many years ago, there is no secret. it's all there waiting for you.
How does one song make me so sad one day, and then uplift me at a later time?? Incredible piece of music, this is. (As Yoda might say) Share this with people you believe in and share a common soul with!
First heard this song back in 2008, and watched this video then too of beautiful Dordrecht, my grandfather is from the Netherlands. Now I'm enjoying this on a train from Bremen to Zurich.
I just discovered Ulrich through Pandora...i must say he has opened another world for me. For music to convey such feeling and emotion without words/lyrics/singing is amazing. This brings nothing but fond memories of past relationships and the joy that came with it. This could be the soundtrack to my life.
why didnt i get to this before. this reminds me of when i used to hold someone special, watching the world go by without a care. i still miss her. if i did find this sooner then now this would've been my song for her. good times. thanks ulrich for bringing those days back.
My dear friend, I know this is a fairly ancient comment. I just wanted to say, I have traversed through that trail within the deep forest of the heart and one of life's greatest mysteries.....that being love.... Your words of expression are earnestly felt and I can surely relate in some way. Music for me, especially this music, has been a kind of magical window into the lands and moments of not only my distant past but also my infinite future. The spirit within us is what we know as our truth which eternally beckons to be acknowledged through the profound force of love that flows from our infinite source to guide us further into the light. Love is such a mysterious thing and I believe certain music in its true essence has a way of being some kind of superconductor of love. Able to cleanse the mind and shine light onto the path of a healing and promising destiny..... Much love friend:~)
Ulrich Schnauss' music helped me cope with a large portion of my late teens / early-to-mid-20s loneliness, social awkwardness and angst. I didn't realise it at the time but I was carving a path through space and time which I can now revisit by listening to his music and see how far I've come and how much I've grown - and how much there's still left to learn. Music truly is the closest thing we have to time travel.
Beautyiful monochrome photgraphy there,, haunting moving emotional content, very very resonant,,, as for Ulrich, well what more can you expect from this man, again another subtle slice of perfection.
I have always loved music that has both elements: melancholy and sadness as a description of the current situation you are in, but at the same time a hopeful, utopian element that reminds you of the possibility of a different life." According to wikipedia Ulrich said this in an interview and that is exactly how I feel. Absolute magic !!!
This is like a tune that one of your friends would listen to for a few minutes and say, Man! who is that! It seems the Eurobeat is always one step ahead.
one of the best songs I've ever heard! The music is unbelievable...When you hear it is like someone is drawing pictures in front of you. I heard it for the 1st time in the film "Elizabethtown" and I think this is the top reason why I love this movie so much. I would like to know more about this group. Thanks for sharing this with everyone
Oh, deary dove. This song sits in my heart like a maggot in a peach. Nearly twenty years it is since I heard it, and yet it is here. Longing and loss, a life that should have been and was not.
As a matter of fact this song has been used in a movie. No mean movie on top of that. "Elisabeth Town" is the name. Its featured in one of the best scenes
I recently bought the two "Chilled" albums by the Ministry of Sound and thought they were brilliant, they do exactly what they say on the box, but then I bought "Far Away Trains Passing By" and "A Strangely Isolated Place", and now I know the real meaning of being chilled. Positively sublime. Mr. Schnauss takes it all to a whole new level, and this track is so damn beautiful...
Beautiful... I may have missed it said somewherte though but: This sounds so much like a remix of "With or without you" by U2. Its uncanny, but I love that song too, its great!
I love this little town and after watching watching your video with one of my favorite songs, I don't think I will be able to walk around the city with out a little smile and skip. THANKS!
Genius for sure. He manages to fill every frequency range at all times. It's audio stimulus. His synth sounds are absolutely awesome and so ethereal and sympathetic. I could go on; but who needs to ? All you have to do is listen.
I had this on my (back than) MP3 player lift off at turkey seeing an oven baked bay of Marmaris thru the clouds beneath (45° to 50°) Airco in the plane Ulrich Schnauss music reminds me of that moment
Call me weird, but this song seems like the ambient love-child of New Order and the Cocteau Twins. It seems familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. Very Nice!!!
....When you hear it is like someone is drawing pictures in front of you... Omg. When I'm hearing this song I feel the same. I didin't think that there are people who feel the same. Good luck.:)
DO NOT lose those friends that you speak of, for they are your real friends. It is hard to find friends who can appreciate music which doesn't spread sex, misconduct, anger, or depression.
if everyone listened to this music the world would be a better place.

His music is timeless !

Scary to me that Pandora has been around that long, and I’ve not been a regular part of it in that time…

Always makes me sad - like my loved on is leaving me forever :(
Amazing how a piece of music can move one :)

Wonderful photos.
Great music....it has just reminded me that music can be for listening and not just dancing. A very evocative sound.
Thanks Dominic!
Brings back thoughts of childhood, special moments, lost loves, and gives promise to a bright future
This is like a tune that one of your friends would listen to for a few minutes and say, Man! who is that! It seems the Eurobeat is always one step ahead.

I had this on my (back than) MP3 player
lift off at turkey seeing an oven baked bay of Marmaris thru the clouds beneath
(45° to 50°) Airco in the plane
