I purposely drove out to the middle of nowhere 10 years back in college, in a huge storm. I parked in a random field got intoxicated and ran out in the rain. This song was playing followed by "A Strangely Isolated Place"...which where I was. I ended up sleeping in my car that night, soaked and muddy. No one ever believes this story, but it is one of the best memories I will ever have. The freedom I felt that day with no worries...indescribable. It's storming bad now, it always takes me back there. I remember hearing the thunder and seeing the lightning close as I hide under a huge oak tree (not smart haha). But damn, sometimes you have to take advantage of being alive, and live.
That sounds AWESOME! 😂!! Once while living in a small town in Arizona (Morristown) I took a walk out into the desert, not too far, but away from prying eyes. I found a tall cactus plant and laid down on the ground a few feet from it and fell asleep. Just a nap. I woke up, got up and walked back to the little cabin I was temporarily living at. I don't know why I did that and I've never told anyone about that, til now. That was the fall of 1998, I was 43 years old.
I don't know what to make of it. I'm heartbroken. My girlfriend and I broke up a few weeks ago. I was dreaming in and out of sleep while this song was playing in the background. We said our goodbyes at a train station in my dream. I felt that's the last time I'll see her beautiful soul. I woke up in tears. Can't stop crying
@@diracleo I got involved in this kind of music only when CDs started appearing on them, I heard similar things, before that I listened to all sorts of nonsense.
You mean a New Zealander went to Greenland to do some filming ?. That's pretty innovative , when you think about it. I mean , he could have stayed in New Zealand , but nnnnnnooo ! (^8. Anyway, beautiful work, audio and visual; a very , very nice combo . The time-lapse scenes combined with chill tunes is very interesting.
Here's the original music video from Richard Sidey's Grønlapse short film. Richard worked on this film when he visited Greenland. He had asked me to record a track for it. This was before Landscapes At The Worlds End documentary film of which this clip also appears at the end of that with Boreal Taiga creating the soundtrack. Here's the original video: ruclips.net/video/auZJWdYqYKA/видео.html Here's the complete film for Landscapes at the World’s Ends, free to view: vimeo.com/21223432
Tycho is more mellow and predictable (in a good way), Boards of Canada is similarly nostalgic and can be darker. Those two are, for me, the most similar but it's hard to compare Ulrich to anybody else. He's his own genre, if you know what I mean
The scene at 3:54 with all these people in special jackets makes me feel like it's Greenland. It seems like a special kind of cold weather that they had to provide jackets to the passengers. Take my guess with a pinch of salt. Cheers from Jordan!
Born in NZ, don't see the beauty and I think that the global opinion on 'Green NZ' is not deserved. Went to Scotland for a year, that country in the highlands is stunning, France has the best beaches along with Italy, Nice was niiiice, loved Yosemite and its redwood forests, Andorras sexy slopes. Don't know where I'm going with this but NZ is overrated.
Thats actually pretty interessting, are you still there (NZ)? It was in my top 3 on my wishlist of places to visit. Greetings from the bleak Germany! Always remember, there are even more ugly countries out there :)
Truly one of the most funky uplifting tunes ever made...........100% BRILLIANT.
You are pure genius Mr Schnauss.
Totally, totally agree with this comment.
From my point of view, the best thing which has been done by magician Ulrich. It has got everything...
Watch the vid ''Gone forever (runaway 325)° ! ...But, it's only my opinion !
I love Ulrich's material, he is amazing
Always puts me in a bit of a trance, listening to this one after not doing so for a few months
Like a dream i'm waiting to have, ultimate bliss through sound and feeling.
I'm going to Iceland and will play this song as I trudge along the glacier and journey past the majestic mountains and clear, icy waters.
Absolutely fabulous Ulrich Schnauss. Love the video too!
this is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard/seen
People with a special taste may listen to this, but others will not understand.
Nice . . . the shimmering aurora borealis tracks so nicely with the end of the song. Just great.
this is gold. well done
I'm not one to buy music online, especially when Shoutcast is free. This on, however, I bought as soon as I heard it. Stunning work, all of it.

Wow, I could feel the passion in your comment, that have to be total euphoria...wish I was there!
That’s an amazing story, if true.

aww! sorry man(assuming you are a guy). I hope things are better now. :)
How sad but beautifully said 😍
Still his best song
My favorite zone out song! And the video fits perfectly!
Breathtaking 😥❤❤👊
Beautiful song, mixed with such beautiful cinamatography
Why isn't this more popular?
Always have loved this track 😆
The most underrated musician there is...
absolutely stunning video fits ulrich's music perfectly especially this track ,nice one ;)
Muito Bom, como seria de esperar! Obrigado!
this video is too cool, and Ulrich is amazing
Wow!! Chills!!!
this track is so peaceful...
Brilliant A/V combination! Bit of a shame there is no 1080.
0:37 - 0:57 is amazing
Wonderful Video, to a great song :)
the sound its amazing yea!
Such a great video! Well done!!
this is amazing! love it!!
Love it.
It's amazing how modern crap like lady gaga and Will-I-Am is more popular than this... ...amazing....
Funny that I was thinking the same thing. Had enough with the average joe radio stations that 4 billion people listen to.
back when this was released, there was equally shitty crap being played on the radio. good music is hard to find because it usually isn't mainstream.

Esta es la que mas me gusta de Ulrich:)
stay at the same beat like this and Molfsee ! ( love it )
Example...for this chords live forever.....
Good for the soul!
Way cool!!
thx. i know it stood in the description but some dude in the comments said it was new zealand and because of that i became a little confused
No dislikes? Awesome!
the 1 dislike was probably from this statement lol
That's a call for dislikes man. Don't jinx it.
magic combination!
what on earth is this green smoky light at the end??
good job..

Wow... so much stuff I'm losing by sitting behind this computer screen...
Shades of 'Leave Them All Behind' by Ride? ;)
Schnauss is a fan of shoegaze, so Ride's influence wouldn't surprise me.
A+ post
Amazing, u suppose to have more viewers :)

An amazing video, was that the Aurora Borealis? Absolutely gorgeous footage!
It is Greenland, but the description is saying the photographer is from New Zealand :)
just discovered this artist, feels quite amazing. Do someone here know other names that fits in the same genre?
