I wish I could share a vid/pic of the charge 5 I purchased. The camo colour is actually very impressive (I couldn't decide on blue or black and the camo is rather unique for a speaker). The speaker itself sounds absolutely amazing and bass heads will not be disappointed.
Bought mine yesterday for 150. This thing sounds sweet. Definitely better than the Marshall Kilbourn or Action 2 and those are almost a hundred more. Highly recommend for 150 bks.

I've had a Flip 4 for going on 4 years? & it's been awesome.However I feel it's time to upgrade as the battery is starting to lose it's life. Can't wait to get my new Charge 5 as I've read so many outstanding reviews about it that I have to get one. Received my Charge 5 about a fortnight ago & am blown away by just how good it sounds! The only negative I have to mention is that the port is open & exposed to dust & moisture. I'll remedy this by putting a small blob of blu-tac over the port.

Today is Friday, July 8, 2022. I better like this Speaker because I just ordered it from Amazon for $179.00. I am replacing my old JBL Charge 3 which is still working but I am upgrading to a better WiFi range and performance.
The speaker uses Bluetooth no wifi tho the Bleutooth hase nice range long range. (wifi is not internet its e singnel that connects you to e device/router/modem that conects to the internet or to e divice/modem/router thats connected to only other devices)
This is the best echo device I’ve ever owned. I love it. The sound quality is great. Voice recognition is wonderful. The only thing I dislike is that I can’t always use my echo remote when I want to go to the next song. This occurs when I Bluetooth my Apple iPad to the echo and listen to music.
I tested one today, and all i can say is, that thing is so fucking loud, i never expected a speaker so small to be so loud, but as i see at the comment section battery only last from 2 to 3 hours at full volume, i think its because its so loud, an the speaker has only around 900 grams, little less than a kilo..
I loved it until it started dying in under a hour. At first I got maybe 3 or 4hrs out of it. I call bs on the 12hrs, there’s no way. Mine gets super hot when it’s charging and it’s never lasted more than 4hrs
You got a faulty one or you're playing it on full blast ! The 20 hours life is for " people" who don't have to have it blasting very loud all the time .
I wouldn't have bought this Charge 5 if I would have known it can't pair with my Charge 3 and my Flip 3. To top it off the Charge 5 doesn't even come with an auxiliary port like the other two do.
I bought 2 of those as an upgrade to my 7 y-o Dockin D fine(50w), and I'm disappointed. It is a mono-speaker, so no stereo sound on a single device, the bass is underwhelming in real life, even though in youtube videos its presented as very rich. Also the battery life is around 6 hours in real life on both, reducing to around 4 hours when "paired" for simultaneous play. Also even with an updated firmware there are LOTS of bugs when playing on "paired" mode with another JBL speaker, from jittery sound to knack noises, once even something that I can only describe as a speaker blowout at only 70ish % of volume.(doesn't happen when used as a single speaker tho) 3.5/5 from me, because I listed only the bad things.
The charge 5 i bought in september stopped holding a charge about 3 weeks ago, the speaker short circuits as soon as i turn it on. literally 180 euros down the drain
I received my JBL speakers just yesterday. They have good sound, but when you wirelessly connect them together, they don't play songs in stereo. One speaker just mirrors the other.
I purchased one recently. I'm not happy with the bluetooth connection. I must have my phone directly along side the JBL Charge 5 for the sound to play crisp. 4ft-6ft away and the connection breaks, and the music becomes choppy. I doubt, I could host a backyard BBQ. Playing music while the my phone is in my pocket will be a problem as I'm grilling. I'm thinking of returning this speaker. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I don't wanna hear about any JBL product ever... Worst quality control. I used to have several JBL products (BT speakers and BT headphones) and ended up returning them. Got back to the trusty Sony products. JBL (or whatever they're name is... Harman...) needs serious improvements in quality control department.

Jbl make great speakers but there is one big flaw with these. That you cannot use them without a mobile! There is no usb or card input. You cannot play your own list of songs. Only what you download in your mobile. You have to keep fiddling with your mobile to search to put on more songs. No mobile no music. Normally, With usb or card one can play music for hours anywhere you go. No need for mobile. But not with these. Some designer at JBL to save costs has left out the most important feature users need. Cassette recorders and CD's were invented so one can play their own music. Not on these devises! Cheap bluetooth speakers have multiple inputs and some even remote controls. Sony has followed suit to do the same to cut prices. What dumb engineers. Why shud anyone buy with no inputs. Most people only realise after purchace that these features are not there!. Even reviews do not mention this to protect the sales. Big con.

I have en jbl charge 5 and have no problems withe the speaker it self after update (now withe equaliser) autio crack i did have 2 tims was jbl plus using spotify bus use it often and only hapend 2 tims wen spotify was havinf sum weard problems

Jbl make great speakers but there is one big flaw with these. That you cannot use them without a mobile! There is no usb or card input. You cannot play your own list of songs. Only what you download in your mobile. You have to keep fiddling with your mobile to search to put on more songs. No mobile no music. Normally, With usb or card one can play music for hours anywhere you go. No need for mobile. But not with these. Some designer at JBL to save costs has left out the most important feature users need. Cassette recorders and CD's were invented so one can play their own music. Not on these devises! Cheap bluetooth speakers have multiple inputs and some even remote controls. Sony has followed suit to do the same to cut prices. What dumb engineers. Why shud anyone buy with no inputs. Most people only realise after purchace that these features are not there!. Even reviews do not mention this to protect the sales. Big con.
