Bro, use red or blue plastidip to get better scans. I just sprayed and scanned the inside of my losi SBR and it came out near perfect, the 3d prints fit nicely with a tinny bit of sanding
Very cool, I havn't scanned anything since I had a s10+ back in 2020. Creality is sending me a ferret pro to test so this gives me a good idea what to expect being I'm a rc guy aswell. Bambu also sent me x1c so were running similar tools haha.
For the lexan scans maybe try chalk temporary marking in spray can, it can be washed off with water. And since its mat "paint", it should behave just right with the IR scan
3D scanning pays my bills and this is what we use (well, we have special 3D scanning sprays as well but they're a bit expensive for doing same job :D¨, but be aware that some sprays can damage some plastics. I destroyed one of my plastic headlight (1:1) lens by that...
Nice scanner for the price. Under $300 right now with coupon! I just watched a review of a new Revopoint scanner. It seemed to have comparable or slightly better scanning, but mainly their updated software seems superior. The point cloud merging, model cleanup, and hole filling seemed excellent. That said, they are a good bit more expensive, though still reasonable. Nice video!
Thanks for the scanner review. With cell phones and programs like Reality-scan, would the results of scanning people be similar? I wanted to scan sneakers with the CR-scan but I'm afraid of having to correct them manually. Have you used it more often?
I just got my Ferret from black Friday and I'm pretty pleased with it. There's a small learning curve, but if you're familiar with 3D editing software, then you're more than enough capable.
Could you scan a battery for an electric hand held machine to directly make a 3d print model of it with out modeling it in fusion360? As you did with your face model. Or is the technology not there yet? Would Bambu slice be possible to repkicate that rpm arm also? If you put it on a turn table and scan it more precisely?
That scanner is insane. Really streamlined process 👍👍 I've used some structure from motion software before but it takes a lot of processing time or cloud processing.
Surprising it didn't work with a Samsung S10. On checking it has 128gb and 8gb RAM. I would have thought that the 8GB of RAM would have been enough for it to at least work somewhere in the mid to low speed of fps So If I get one I'll have to have like a Samsung Galaxy S21 or something to have something useful?
It looks like Intel real sense sensor that been used in 3D scanners 10 years ago. Even software and results look similar. You may find them used for cheap Shining 3D Einstar is more expensive but results looks more usable.
it works for what i need it for. but it's not the most robust system. infact it seems like old hardware stock, with slightly upgraded software. which for the price is probably still the best you can get. Where's the lidar creality?
for big parts is okay, but you need big printer to make them. Although most 3d printed parts all small with small printers. Also would love to see integration into scanner software all the model finishing software. @@kpopRC
In all honesty this was really frustrating to watch because you seem to not even have looked into how best to use a scanner before using it. Which would be why you got poor results.
get a lidar scanner, the hardware on these is already too old and the back end is clunky. regardless if i smeared shit on the lexan, the poly count is too much, and working with the files in 3d is a massive pain.
What all this "this is not paid advertising by ABC COMPANY, but they sent me this for review" BS? It is an advertising, just charade in some ways. You can't be unequivocally sincere, because you want the future relationships. So you are already biased towards promoting the brand and product, so how dare you say it's not advertising. You even have an affiliate link to the product. Evil people! There are many ways to advertise products, it's not only one format bloke.
Use athletes foot spray on the rc body before you scan. It will make for a better scan. Also washes off. Use it in the dental industry all the time.
GREAT TIP!
@@kpopRC If you don't want foot medicine on your objects, you can also use dry shampoo. 😉
I was thinking baby powder🤔
Non crunchy peanut butter
@@CPRC23 All purpose flour! It's truly all purpose, hahaha.
Love my scanner, you're totally right about it saving a ton of time to make things around existing shapes
youve sold me! this is the exact use case i wanted this scanner for. hopefully itll be good enough and have enough detail for the 1/18 crawlers!
I wanted to see you print some control arms and durability test them

@@PachezZ yeah some purpose made sprays include solvents that can absolutely ruin both your scan and your day.

What coupon? It's $386 on Creality right now on sale. I'd love to find it for under $300...
@@Greg-JClick the link in his description. $350 with a $52 coupon you can click. At least in the USA.
@@Greg-J$254.15 Right now on the Creality store, but I think the sale ends tonight.
There are actually tons of "clear" materials that are opaque in the infrared spectrum and vice versa
For the clear scans use plastydip. Then you can peal it back off and no damage to the finish.
Thanks for the scanner review. With cell phones and programs like Reality-scan, would the results of scanning people be similar? I wanted to scan sneakers with the CR-scan but I'm afraid of having to correct them manually. Have you used it more often?
3d scanner sprays are wash off, so Lexan bodies that are clear will not be damaged.

What kind of objects and sizes are you scanning? Still pleased with it? Im thinking of pulling the trigger on buying one.

yes. but any modification will need 3d modeling software. it won't be hollow
What would happen if you made a plaster mold of the body? I know doing that can make a good mold of the body and not wreck the body at all
That scanner is insane. Really streamlined process 👍👍 I've used some structure from motion software before but it takes a lot of processing time or cloud processing.
Game changer, cool stuff man!
The PC is available to use wirelessly also. I just stole the wifi info from my phone.

im surprised they didn't use lidar. i guess that's the next step for budget scanners.
my wee cousin wants his own skin in my game iam making would this help for that
when you scan a model, is it to scale or you need to adjust it? Have you tried it with software like blender?
it's to scale. they import into blender np
Interesting CR-Scan Ferret Pro vs iphone 14 pro (lidar).
Great video
Or the spray paint that you can peel off
Hey man, where is the mcd w5 dune buggy? 👌🏼
it got sold. The motor is in my xr5 now.
Where are creality christie's teeth?! Cheers to beers bro! 🍺🍺
HAHAHAH. CHERRY.
@@kpopRC that's right, Cherry! Still glad you got the joke
The Creality scanner they are currently advertising on RUclips looks quite a bit bigger than this one.
yes this is the older scanner.
How do you get it to scan in color? I only get blue.
in configuration window that it makes you look at before clicking new scan, add colour to the colour mapping option.. you can't miss it.
That is cool
You know what "generic" means right? (Your use doesn't make sense) And why would you slam a plastic tripod with a scanner on top, on a table top?
How is your s10 even still working lol
Its a paid / compensated ad if they sent you it for free !
Noice!
Seems ideal for the things I'd be looking to use a scanner for 🤔 currently torn between this and the revopoint inspire 😬😬
Cheers to 🍻
For the benefit of those who wish to scare women and children, could you do a video on your eyebrow technique?
it's been a long eyebrow flex journey.
Still. Crap they claim it;s 0.1mm but it actually 10mm off, just look at the car bonnet dents

From photogrammetry apps I have learnt that covering hard to scan surfaces with masking tape helps heaps
