Just stumbled on your videos, and thought the truck looked familiar. I did some digging and your outfit hauled some over width (13' & 14') machine crates from Trois Rivieres to Southern NH for me a handful of years ago. Would have been pretty cool to see the load hauled down.
Ive been following and subscribed for a short while now but I can already tell your a true professional at your trade. I’m a 28yr mechanic with a Cat dealer and I load and unload equipment in our yard for years now. I can quickly tell when a float driver has his s*#t together. Always a pleasure working with guys like you. :). I’m in Sault Ste. Marie and have seen you pass through a few times. Maybe be able to chat someday if your stopped here. Thanks so much for the vids. I know its a lot of work to put great videos like this together. All the camera angles, i tip my hat to ya. :)
Thanks Mario! I deliver to the dealership in Lively from time to time but I don’t think I’ve been in the Sault St Marie yard. I delivered a new 988 to Bruce Mines last year. Maybe it was one of yours. Thanks for the encouragement. If guys like you continue watching the videos than I’ll continue making them 😊 Cheers

Not on the back roads but we’re across 86 and 390 often. A few videos back the one I took from Baltimore to Sault St Marie travelled that route. I spent the weekend in Liberty Pennsylvania on 99.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Even with you putting the music codes in the desc, I think RUclips still zapped a couple of minutes of audio at about 22:05, not really an issue - just FYI
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 haha! Your quality and content is a lot better than anything Hollywood has put out in a long time. I watch a tv channel called grit, it’s all the older western tv shows and movies.
Have you ever moved any Cat 992’s? There is some big dudes! I have moved several in the mines in Southern Ohio, those mines have all been closed down now, I haven’t moved any for about 10-12 years now, it’s a shame it was good work and paid well! Moved their D-11s too. Did you thank them for the help unloading? Bastards!
The biggest loader I’ve done was a 990 and it doesn’t really count because they stripped it down. Quebec is a pain in the butt for superloads so all the really big machines get stripped down and go as multiple loads.
Another Awesome video I really enjoy seeing the difference between the older trailers versus the new. I know you guys maintain your trailers but what do you keep an eye on for wear and tear parts because I'm sure with some of those heavy loads things have to wear out which could be a problem?
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 for both! Nawwwww......it's a lot to set that trailer up. Just subcribed and trying to catch up on all your videos. Heavy haul pays if you want to hustle
Heavy haul pays but not enough for all the extra work that goes with it. Not to mention the higher chances for tickets and claims with all the added rules and regulations for oversize. Gotta do it because you love the work and the money is just a bonus.
Hah, Doug. Every time I see you flip that axle I cringe. I pinched my fingers once "helping-out" with that and my index finger nail is still pinched to this day. LOL Love watching those big CATs getting loaded and hauled around the Country. They're massive, aren't they?
Luckily I still have all my fingers but I do know drivers less fortunate who have gotten hurt doing this. Accidents can happen fast and before you know it someone is on their way to the hospital. That’s why I try not to be in a rush. When you try and work too fast accidents happen.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Isn't that just the truth. Slower is safer, for sure. Putting those 9, 11, 13 axles together is an absolute skill-set and you do a bang-up job, my friend.
The trailer in this video is a Talbert. But as you can see in the other videos I pull a different trailer every week. We have Talbert, Temisko, Trail King, Aspen, Liodell, Manac…
Impressive move. But gee I'm bloody glad we don't have to jump through all the hoops that you guys do when moving this sort of gear in Western Australia. The trailers etc that we use here are so much more simple and easy to use - just drop the ramps and drive the machine up onto the deck, chain it down and away you go. But we don't have the height restrictions that you have, so can get away with a lot more. Check out Drake Trailers Australia. And we chew up the odd few cones through the roadworks here too. Our dolly spreads out to 12 or 14 foot wide (as does the float) - the dolly wheels usually manage to chew up the cones and spit them out before the float gets to them.
I wish we didn’t need to deal with the height restrictions. The equipment in Australia and even Europe would really simplify things! Thanks for following ✌️
Most scales have 3 plates ( steers, drives, trailer) so I I weighed my steers on the first plate, the drives on the second plate and the jeep on the third plate without having the trailer on the scale. Then I pulled forward so that the trailer was on the third plate and the jeep was completely off and weighed it again. On a CAT scale we call it a “split weigh” If you look back a few videos on the channel to the Baltimore load where I had a booster, I weighed the steers, drives and jeep and then pulled forward until the trailer was on the 2nd plate and booster on the 3rd plate and scaled again.
Thanks for the explanation. I actually meant the numbers. Then right as i sent the comment I saw you showed your axle numbers. 😝 thanks though… good vid…
I'm Rollin with a 982 with the bucket on 8 axles out of savannah ga port going just northwest of Cincinnati Ohio she's a big girl bucket is 12 wide top of the cab sits 14 5 gross is 145500
Different trailer. The beam on our 60 ton is too high and I would need to put a complete set of ramps down to walk the machine off. The 50 ton beam is lower. But I will pull even the small beam out from under a lower machine. A Hyster forklift for example has lower ground clearance so I’ll pull even the smaller trailer.
Great video man! I'm always curious: how long would you take to stop if you release the gas but with no brakes, comparing heavy vs. empty or bobtail. Don't try that on a livestream, of course :-)
Love your movies
Hah, the best part was the cones going bye bye! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I like watching a professional at work, doing things the right way. No half-assing it.
Keep it up.

That’s a nice touch that camera facing the load.

Eventually stress cracks will form in the metal. Just like a soda can, you can only twist it so many times. But on a larger scale.
