The "reveal" by itself is already great, but imagine how much more fantastic would have it been if Joseph just deduced Kakyoin's clue and said nothing to the audience, leaving you wondering what he's thinking. Then in the final moment he's about to say it and Dio interrupts him right on the spot stopping time. You'd without a doubt lose your fucking mind.
Keep in mind this was adapted from a manga so all of this could happen in the manga and would just be assumed as happening in 5 seconds but that is really hard when changing it to anime because you have to fit all of that monologuing and action into 5 seconds so they just took the liberty of ignoring time and going with it. Another example of a compromise that had to be made was that in the manga, they don't fly, they just jump a lot and talk while in the air. Since you're reading speech bubbles it's not questioned but they would be suspended in air for a while to actually say all that so the studio was just like "fuck it, they're just gonna be flying"
What makes the scene where Dio stopped time to kill Joseph tragic is the fact that Jotaro can see during stopped time. So that means he was forced to watch Dio attempt to kill his grandpa and he couldnt do a damn thing about it.

Dio right here is literally giving everything into this one not only because he knows he’s going to kill Joseph but that at this point he thinks that there is no one that can stop him, not even Jotaro. One of his closest friends- Avdol- was killed, along with Iggy. He has no idea if Kakyoin is alright, and walking down the street before his own grandfather abruptly fell from the sky. He expresses near immediate concern- and terror- as his grandpa immediately started shouting something about Dio’s stand- only for his grandfather to suddenly and immediately be stabbed by a knife in the throat. Think for two minutes here. Imagine your mother, father, brother, sister, friend, ANYONE be stabbed in the neck while only being a few yards away. And than imagine that loved one, in what might be their dying moments, begging you to *run.* To run in the opposite direction, as fast as they possibly could. All of that is going through Jotaro’s head right here.
Plus Suzie q(one of the family members jotaro respects) told him to take care of Joseph and now he has to tell her that he failed Until he got revived of course

This is the most epic "time stop" ever. The utter shock and terror in Joseph voice and the vicious victorious voice of Dio combined with the sound in background as smth huge is about to transpire. Pure epic
It's really impressive how Joseph was using Hermit purple and his Hamon skills together to try to beat the crap out of Dio but then again Dio has the advantage with The World by his side, still it was nice seeing him using Hamon in Part 3. Who else agrees?

Revealing the secret of the world and Joseph dying I feel does spoil the surprise but when I watched “jotaro kills dio” I can’t understand how people can call it a spoiler. The protagonist is obviously going to beat the antagonist.
In Part 2, JoJoseph was a creative fighter even when the opponent was stronger than him (Straizo, Caesar, Whammu, ACDC). He was always underestimated and shit. But now in Part 3, he is old, he is not as intelligent as he was before and his stand doesn't actually help, i feel kinda sorry for him, but he went very far for a 75 years old Hamon user.

I don't see why hamon just got erased, they are fighting a vampire! And joseph was way smarter in part 2 , as an older man he should be smarter, not dumber, hes def not senile yet. I think in part 3 araki was just over part 2 and joseph and wanted to focus on making jotaro look good, considering how popular he is in japan and part 3 is when jojo blew up, but still, he didn't have to dumb down joseph THAT much just to make jotaro have the spotlight. Mad Aleph Just before he activated The World when he was fighting Kakyoin he got an entire sentence off whilst Emerald splash slowly drifted towards him. The man can talk at hyperspeed. He'd probably sound like a chipmunk if you were listening in real time.
Mad Aleph look at it this way. time is frozen. if he had a watch, it wouldn't be running. he has no way to precisely measure how long time is frozen. alternately, the perspective is different so we can actually perceive how fast this superhuman vampire is moving to properly capitalize on the benefits his stand grants him. I always kinda felt like it was the same way in DBZ. with how fast the characters are capable of moving, for us to even be able to observe them anymore would require a large amount of slowdown. like actually seeing a humming bird's wings flap in high speed film vs. just seeing their motion blur.
I realized that not only do we say that Dio can talk in stopped time because it's his movements that make the timer go down, but he literally states that he had 5 seconds *in which to act* meaning he can talk, assess the situation, and then attack

DIO sounds like he's being cocky, by saying Hamon gave him a little trouble, but he still fears it rightfully so, he didn't try and get Joseph's head, or heart, he went for his throat specifically, since he knew that was the surefire way to kill him, stop his breathing, stop the Hamon from keeping him going.

Araki ultimately decided he couldn't think of anything else to do with ripple, and decided to create a new powerset that is both more interesting visually (to myself at least) and has much more possibility. That said, it does sadly cheapen things from past parts, knowing how certain Stands can utterly defeat Kars even at his ultimate form.
No stand at in part 3 and 4 (i dont know about other parts im not there yet) can beat ultimate kars. Maybe that made in heaven guy I keep hearing about.

In Part 2, JoJoseph was a creative fighter even when the opponent was stronger than him (Straizo, Caesar, Whammu, ACDC). He was always underestimated and shit.
But now in Part 3, he is old, he is not as intelligent as he was before and his stand doesn't actually help, i feel kinda sorry for him, but he went very far for a 75 years old Hamon user.

I don't see why hamon just got erased, they are fighting a vampire! And joseph was way smarter in part 2 , as an older man he should be smarter, not dumber, hes def not senile yet. I think in part 3 araki was just over part 2 and joseph and wanted to focus on making jotaro look good, considering how popular he is in japan and part 3 is when jojo blew up, but still, he didn't have to dumb down joseph THAT much just to make jotaro have the spotlight. I guess with how solemn and quiet jotaro is all the time, if joseph was his normal pat 2 self theres no way he wouldn't out shine jotaro.

Mad Aleph Just before he activated The World when he was fighting Kakyoin he got an entire sentence off whilst Emerald splash slowly drifted towards him. The man can talk at hyperspeed. He'd probably sound like a chipmunk if you were listening in real time.
Mad Aleph look at it this way. time is frozen. if he had a watch, it wouldn't be running. he has no way to precisely measure how long time is frozen.
alternately, the perspective is different so we can actually perceive how fast this superhuman vampire is moving to properly capitalize on the benefits his stand grants him. I always kinda felt like it was the same way in DBZ. with how fast the characters are capable of moving, for us to even be able to observe them anymore would require a large amount of slowdown. like actually seeing a humming bird's wings flap in high speed film vs. just seeing their motion blur.

DIO sounds like he's being cocky, by saying Hamon gave him a little trouble, but he still fears it rightfully so, he didn't try and get Joseph's head, or heart, he went for his throat specifically, since he knew that was the surefire way to kill him, stop his breathing, stop the Hamon from keeping him going.

Throughout all of Battle Tendency this was a fucking dream match. Fucking Stands.
Araki ultimately decided he couldn't think of anything else to do with ripple, and decided to create a new powerset that is both more interesting visually (to myself at least) and has much more possibility.
That said, it does sadly cheapen things from past parts, knowing how certain Stands can utterly defeat Kars even at his ultimate form.
No stand at in part 3 and 4 (i dont know about other parts im not there yet) can beat ultimate kars. Maybe that made in heaven guy I keep hearing about.
