Great reaction, young man. The song lifted you up just the way it did all of us nearly six decades ago. The next to the last track on the album is a reprise of this; I bet you'd enjoy giving that a listen. 😊

You can't fully appreciate any artist/group/band/painter/performer - that is; where they are coming from - where a song/track fits in and where they get to - unless - you listen to them; in chronological order. Few are (in the end) worth it - but the Beatles certainly are - as are Bowie - Pink Floyd.... - I'm sure there are loads of others - BUT you cannot fully appreciate where a great band is, unless you follow them, from their start, and stick with them going forwards

That’s a really cool insight. I’ll have to do that!! I might make a series on deep diving artists from the beginning to present/end. Thank you for that, really cool idea!

It's great that you're trying to expand your musical knowledge. Have fun!
Some album recommendations by decade... just scratching the surface, but you have to start somewhere...
1960s - Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys and Astral Weeks by Van Morrison
1970s - Madman Across the Water by Elton John and Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
1980s - Graceland by Paul Simon and So by Peter Gabriel
    Enjoy!

Yesss mate thanks so much!! I’ll definitely get on to these asap :) I’m hoping that expanding my musical knowledge will allow me to be more creative in my own music! To understand how and why things work and where these ideas came from you know?

I'd watch the Beatles' live rooftop version of Don't Let Me Down, or the Hey Jude or Revolution semi-live videos, Let it Be, Strawberry Fields, Come Together....
I love the Beach Boys, but I can't make it through Pet Sounds without skipping songs. I don't usually recommend Greatest Hits albums, but Beach Boys 20 Golden Greats is, well. great!

Cheers!! I’ll give it a watch asap :)) I heard about it when I went to the Hard Rock Cafe in park lane, I assume it’s the place where some of them used to live?

The album is iconic, not so much the song isolated from the rest of songs . Especially as it runs into the 2nd song. The audience is added.

I’ll definitely have to listen to the rest on here, I’ll make a big video asap!! Is it like dark side of the moon how it runs into all the songs or is it just the first two?

@Beingalivewitholiver wait and see 😆. But yeh first 2 were played on Radio together. Oh and don't expect anything with the album. It's not a collection of big hit songs. In fact it has zero hits on it. No single released from it. It's more about conscientiousness than anything else. I e acid 😆.

@@Beingalivewitholiver "No hits" is relative. All of the Beatles' albums contain numerous classics, that have left a massive mark on modern popular culture, received a lot of radio airplay and are still streamed a lot, without having been released as a single at the time.
In addition to the title track, Pepper has "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", When I'm 64, A day in the life and With a little help from my friends, which became hits as cover versions by other artists. Joe Cocker in particular has basically built his entire career on his With a little help... cover. The soft rockers Wet Wet Wet also had a No. 1 hit in the UK with their cover in 1988, as did the duo Sam+Mark in 2004. Lucy in the sky... became a pretty big hit in the mid-1970s in the Elton John version. The list could go on for a very, very long time...

@@braudabo thank you for this!! Yeah I’ve heard Lucy in the sky with diamonds, absolute banger of a song! Very excited to hear the other ones too, I’m sure it’ll be a proper musical journey, but I’ll go into it with no expectations anyway!

Actually you can't talk about quality since we're in a never ending time journey, wich means that every moment in time is frozen to its frame. So... you can't meassure quality sound from different times. At the time, that was quality...

    • @Beingalivewitholiver
      @Beingalivewitholiver  3 дня назад

Well yeah, but nowadays it’s not, and what I’m saying is that ‘lack’ of quality as we see it today (which was top notch back then) is what gives it that warmth
