- Ruth was a gentile (non-Jew) from the country of Moab, one of the neighboring countries of Israel. She married a Jewish man named Chilion who had migrated with his family to Moab in order to escape a famine in Bethlehem. Not long after marriage, Chilion died, leaving Ruth a widow. She was left destitute with her mother-in-law Naomi and her sister-in-law Orpah.
Ruth was a wonderful example of God's faithfulness . I love the
book of Ruth.

Ruth is one of my favorite women of the bible truly uplifting
She is not one of my favourite, She is my favourite woman in the Bible. There are more popular female figures in the Bible (Sarah, Mary etc) but Ruth's story is very inspiring.

So beautiful how the Bible gives perfect example as to mother in laws and daughters in Law how to love and be kind to each other. But no one cares to follow the word of God to know how to be a good mother or daughter in law regardless of if we like them or not hence they fight like cats and dogs. If you are single then don't make a self righteous prayer for only a good mother in law but for that character and heart of Ruth so that when the Lord blesses you will be able to maintain your blessing.

Reading the Book of Ruth was thought-provoking, and amazing but after watching it as a film, I feel like it was nothing short of amazing, and the glory of God was revealed! Ruth was a widow, the average woman, who has endured a lot, has been married, and knows how it feel lose a loved one, YET she remained obedient and faithful, and knew that as long as she listened to Naomi, and followed God, she would be blessed. Boaz and Ruth inspire me!

My aunt is named Ruth and she was an avid seamstress in her home and she helped me learn to sew a dress once. She embodies the essence of Ruth in the bible in so many ways. Even Ruth in the bible would stay up sewing at night! I love the name Ruth because of how faithful and kind the Ruth of the Bible was.

The most touching part of this story to me is that God's blessing in Ruth was along side of Naomi all along. Even as she's talking to her old friends to call her Mara cause the Lord has caused her to be bitter. The Lord was there for her all along in Ruth. That is how merciful he is. I believe one of the main reasons for Naomi's blessing was her decision to teach her daughter-in-laws not to worship idols but the one true God. And Ruth's blessings were because of her crucial decision to follow Naomi and her God. This world is full of decisions one must make.
