Hey lily I'm a new mummy and I loved the comments about visiting a new baby - I'm a bit of a control freak so I wouldn't want someone in my kitchen helping me out BUT I appreciated when people understood how tired and emotional I was and didn't stay long and didn't demand to hold the baby. We had a horrible breastfeeding experience and it was so important for me to do every bottle feed and just to have positive close contact with my baby when she wasn't trying to breast feed or bottle feed and not have that stolen by friends or family who wanted a cuddle. You sound like a wonderful sister and auntie :) love how positively you showed London in this vlog too, amazingly diverse and friendly! I love that you always explore new places and aren't into only going to the cool, trendy places but are happy to go off the beaten track to find cool new places. It feels much more authentic!
obviously it's each to their own, and well done you for taking criticism so well but I waaay prefer chatty vlogs it shows your Genuity and makes you seem like almost a friend to your audience! xx

I've been a fan for years, and your vlogs are my favorite thing on your channel. It has nothing to do with the quality of the other content. I watch pretty much everything you upload, but I prefer the personal nature of vlogs in general. Not to mention that you, Rich, your friends, and family are all really great! However, today I genuinely want to say that through your videos you come as one of the nicest woman I've ever come across. I also loved the last part of the vlog, when you talked about those little things that people can do when visiting a new mum. I really love your videos & blogs Lily - i'm also currently listening to your podcast, which is great too. Although it can be difficult to ignore, try not to take criticism too personally as what isn't loved by one might be loved by others. I'd concentrate more on what you enjoy making/doing as if you don't enjoy doing it then the less you will be interested in producing it therefore the quality will slowly begin to slacken and your viewers might notice that. There's a quote that reads, "If you're hearts not in it then eventually your mind will follow" and I feel that this is appropriate here. Overall, I absolutely love watching your content. It's so laid back and natural. I really enjoy the amount of detail that you put into it from the little stories you tell us, the added in clips of product/item close ups, and how detailed your outfit of the days are. You also have a really nice balance of arty/normal clips which doesn't make your videos seem 'fake'. Keep it up, personally, I think you're doing fine! :) Take some time to give yourself a pat on the back for all that you have achieved! Xx

I've just had a baby 4 weeks ago and I never knew what I was like having visitors, it can be horrible I've always waited weeks and until im invited but I feel terrible that I've never helped people out or taken food! as a Mum of two and an Aunt of five (soon to be six!) I can not agree enough. Recovering from labour, feeding, sleepless nights, and all the emotional ups and downs is hard enough without a barrage of guests!
You are so right about visiting people with babies! When my friend gave birth I went to visit her and I did her vacuuming. It was so easy for me to do but it was such a big deal for her with everything else she had going on! You're very thoughtful to mention it in your vlog :)

Such good advice about visiting those with newborns. I also like to do this with present buying. If someone at work/in our friendship group has a baby, everyone buys for the baby, but I always make sure we get mum a present too. Even if it's just something like an 'emergency pamper pack' so that one day, covered in baby vom and not having showered for a week, they can lock themselves away with the pamper pack and just feel a bit of normality again.
Lily! That's so true about visitors after you have a baby! I bought a job load of cans and bottles of water for people as I couldn't keep making teas for the amount of people who came in the first week. People who did a bit of washing up or took some washing for me were amazing! Just getting one load of washing bought back to me clean dry and smelling nice was the best feeling ever ! Also if you're unsure what to buy a new mother, jazzy pjs that can be worn when visitors come so you look half decent but comfy!

I don't usually comment but had to...YES for mentioning visiting people who've just had babies etiquette (gosh that's a mouthful!) I found it really overwhelming when people visited me having just had my daughter who's now nearly 2 and I'm so aware now when visiting others to try and help the mum even if it's just making a cup of tea but I do think a lot of people aren't aware unless they've had a baby or been around lots of people who've had babies. Great vlog content as always!

You are so right about visiting people with babies! When my friend gave birth I went to visit her and I did her vacuuming. It was so easy for me to do but it was such a big deal for her with everything else she had going on! You're very thoughtful to mention it in your vlog :)

Your Visiting New Baby comments were spot on Lily. After my first baby the excitement got me through the first weeks and the making coffee for well meaning visitors. By the time my third arrived it was " you know where everything is ...".x
Love your vlogs. What a nice idea about visiting new mothers/babies. Those people on the streets got it right, the world needs more of this these days...laughter and cheering each other on :)
Such good advice about visiting those with newborns. I also like to do this with present buying. If someone at work/in our friendship group has a baby, everyone buys for the baby, but I always make sure we get mum a present too. Even if it's just something like an 'emergency pamper pack' so that one day, covered in baby vom and not having showered for a week, they can lock themselves away with the pamper pack and just feel a bit of normality again.

Lily! That's so true about visitors after you have a baby! I bought a job load of cans and bottles of water for people as I couldn't keep making teas for the amount of people who came in the first week. People who did a bit of washing up or took some washing for me were amazing! Just getting one load of washing bought back to me clean dry and smelling nice was the best feeling ever ! Also if you're unsure what to buy a new mother, jazzy pjs that can be worn when visitors come so you look half decent but comfy!

I don't usually comment but had to...YES for mentioning visiting people who've just had babies etiquette (gosh that's a mouthful!) I found it really overwhelming when people visited me having just had my daughter who's now nearly 2 and I'm so aware now when visiting others to try and help the mum even if it's just making a cup of tea but I do think a lot of people aren't aware unless they've had a baby or been around lots of people who've had babies. Great vlog content as always!

It's so true what you said about new mums and visiting them! My advice is bring some food to the mother because she's so busy taking care of the baby that sometimes she might forget to feed herself.. and while she's eating, you can have a cuddle with the baby 😍
