How ironic to find this today, Frank's birthday 2023, when the city of Prague suffered a mass shooting. Love to the good people of Prague, who consider Frank a saint of freedom.
How can anyone not love this. Using a full orchestra and not losing any of the energy original character. Thanks for uploading. This is one of my mother's favorite tunes.
It's so awful that too many will remember FZ for stuff like "Yellow Snow" and "Montana" (good stuff for us Z-heads) but we knew all along he was also a magnificent composer of music. Who's cutting onions again, dammit?!
@Fred Zepplin IF You dig deeper and MOST PEOPLE do get over 25 Zappa CD s and they will learn soon enough he composed more complex stuff then Yellow Snow and Montana. As great as this version here is i prefer the Original version and the Cover that Dweezil Zappa did on his CD Go with what You know.
@@jimdougherty1868 Po Jama people is actually Frank being pissed off that the other band Members of the 1975 Band always went to Bed at 8 o clock and he wanted to enjoy the Nightlife with them.
Great arrangement of an original masterpiece by Maestro Zappa. Many thanks to the orchestra for helping to keep his music alive. You know music is good when people are still playing it live when it was composed over 50 years ago and then given an orchestral arrangement, and well after the Maestro passed on to Music Heaven. His compositions have even been played by school bands and orchestras. It will live on. I miss Frank. His music, talent, wit and social commentary... and of course his humor. This brought me to tears. I hope he knows how much we love him, miss him and that his music is still played and revered by all who like good music, and that new generations are being introduced to his wonderful music.
Oh man, I love the melody that starts at 0:51 It is so beautiful it could form the centrepiece of a huge orchestral piece and yet FZ drops it and moves on like nothing happened. He is so missed.
'Peaches en Regalia' presented in Prague with perfect pedal-depressed panchromatic resonance. More seriously however this is an example of the form of musical arraignment and composition that will ultimately define the art of 20th century
Agree, and the reason in part is that Frank brought real rock drumming (which itself is African-inspired) into classical musical. That's the only thing missing in most classical music IMHO.
Oh god the goosebumps starting at 1:55. This is a masterful rendition of Franks work and no wonder it was played by the people of Praque! Thank you and a deep bow.
Lovely. That orchestra sounds like it really likes the piece and, even better, is enjoying playing it. Camera work & editing are nice too. Thanks for posting!
I remember long long ago the album Hot Rats got a rave review in one of the British music weekly papers (can't remember which one now), and I got the album. Loved this track and much more on the album.
This is one of those albums I never thought I could listen again, I was 16 and we played, and it was played, everywhere. I "discovered" it again a couple years ago...yes he really was a genius and one of a kind.
When i first heard this i fell in love with its crazy instrumental, thinking i have heard this before knowingly i had not but it so wonderful and complete.Only Frank Zappa could come up with the most manical and beautiful music such as this little ditty.Love hearing it in this orchestral version.Thank you for posting this , truly a treasure.
I have a theory that Czech people couldn't speak english, so they listened mainly to the music, which got them hooked. (It has it's benefits, like for example listening to tracks like "Keep it greasy" with your parents). Exploring texts and their meaning was a great bonus after that, especially since Czech sense of humor is very simmilar to Zappa's.
This is a great composition, one of Zappa's best. I think Frank would've been proud to hear this arrangement of his music. It manages to sound as if it had been originally composed for a philharmonic orchestra, while also staying true to the spirit of Zappa's music.
That was so friggin amazing. I tried to find the Saturday Night Live performance of Frank Zappa, doing Peaches En Regalia, but it is no longer available. This, makes for a nice alternative.
This is a STUNNING performance! I have been listening to this song since its introduction on Hot Rats and have never heard an orchestral version. BRAVO!!

I love how the members of the orchestra are so into it, nodding along and smiling
Wonderful

True. And to top it off - some polite golf clapping at the end.
It's too slow.
I love the song but didn't like this particular orchestration. It was a good effort and keeps FZ's music alive.

Yes the mix was awefull and Hannibal would certenly eat some of the musicians.
