    In other words, the best way to get to Canada as an international student is to choose the path of least resistance of barriers to come to Canada. Quebec has that least resistance.
    0:13 Montreal is not a province. Quebec is.

    Here's a very brief description on how the french language is a very important aspect if you want to study in Québec (for immigrants):
    In Quebec, immigrants are obligated to learn french (as per bill 101 adopted in 1976), especially if you are planning to put yourself or your kids to school (primary, high school, college, university). Everyone will have to go through the "classe d'accueil" and eventually they'll be integrated to more advanced classes.
    To be able to get a post secondary education in Quebec, you need to pass your proficiency tests with the " Examens de ministère", most importantly in french (amongst other subjects).
    When you pass the Minister's exams, itll lead you to Cegep.
    Cegep (an in between of high school and uni)is where you will be able to choose between pre-university courses(i.e. pure sciences, computer science, etc.) or technical courses (nursing, architectural technologist, etc.). When you're done with cegep, you can start working or pursue higher educational studies (bachelors, masters...)
    Edit: trade school is an option after high school.

      Thanks man I really didn't know that it was so complicated

    • @jayron9
      @jayron9 Год назад

      @@omega5649 Np! It's not as complicated as it seems. The governement will definitely take in to account equivalences when you finish your education elsewhere. In that case, you'll only have to do the prerequesites of the post secondary program you want to get in to (Cegep or university), and the french exam.

  • @SherwinAlejandrino

    Merci for sharing.
    You have very valid reasons choosing Montreal as your home base for studying.
    However, please note that Montreal is not as "urban" as Toronto.
    So if you are a Manila girl very used to city living, you might need more than usual adjustments.
    Once you get over the hump, consider moving to the big cities (Toronto or Vancouver).
    The only thing is, these two cities are prime cities so aside from the high cost of living, there's also lots of competition.
    But Pinoys are resilient so no matter which part of the Canada/world we land, we always find ways to survive and adapt.
    Anyway, just my 2 cents...
    I'd say enjoy Quebec for now and take advantage of its proximity to the Atlantic provinces.
    Good luck!

    Hey, I'll be coming this June in Montreal and I've been so scared about how the people are, my mom was there in 2011 and said they weren't welcoming at all to strangers, so I'm scared 😭. Can't wait to come study tho, love your vlog ♥ followed!!

    • @jayron9
      @jayron9 Год назад +4

      Don't be scared! Just make sure na you make the effort to speak french. Like saying "bonjour", "merci" or when you try to communicate to a salesperson " Desolé je ne parle pas français, pouvez-vous me parler en anglais s'il-vous-plaît?" They'll really appreciate that you tried hard.

    • @minhee7
      @minhee7 Год назад

      It’s not that we aren’t welcoming, it’s just that we don’t like people who do not try to talk french, especially because of history

      @reallynow7718 Год назад +1

      @@minhee7 I actually speak French, since I'm from a bilingual country (Cameroon) I have no problem expressing myself in French. And my mom spoke fluent French too when she was there in 2011, it's been a while and I hope things have changed from the stories she told me. Thank you 🥰

    CEGEP stands for: Collège d'Enseignement Général et Professionnel
    General and Professional Education College
    A socialist idea to better integrate future university students with technical ones
    To reduce class tensions
    Great idea
    I am not sure how well it has succeeded at this
    Government with their ideological inclinations pass laws
    Based on initial anpremisses
    But too often they are not they do not have scientific enough mind
    To come back and re-evaluate the positive results and the unintended impacts
    For example
    Store opening on Sundays !!? Tax cuts for the rich !!? Illegal immigrant amnesty,!!? bank deregulations!!? Lifting of some Media rules!!? Nurses are not allowed to diagnose!!? Government employees in position of authority are not allowed to be distinctive religious signs!!? Having majority party draw up electoral maps!!!???

      I understand that there may be some mixed opinions with Québec. I focused on Montréal instead of the whole province since it is a bilingual city. It is the other cities/towns in the province that rarely use English!
      In Montréal, it still depends on the job if they require you to speak French. Most likely, if the nature of the job requires you to talk to another person, then being bilingual is a must. But not all jobs will refuse you just because you don’t know French 😊 yun nga lang, recommended padin to know their official language of course.
